Peaceful Demigod

PostPosted: Fri Oct 09, 2009 8:34 pm

Javera tensed almost angrily when she heard Siska's assertion that games were only for children. Well, she would just have to prove him wrong then, and get him involved in the game. Keeping a careful eye on Spook, she danced lightly behind the other black. Seeing Spook closing in on her, she had to make a choice.

And really, it wasn't all that difficult. She just had to steel herself for the retaliation that would surely come after what she planned to do. She slid up closer beside the stallion and nudged him into the path of the oncoming mare before jumping back and playfully seeking shelter behind the gentle grey giant.

She laughed brightly. It had been far too long since she had last felt at ease enough to let go and just be. Peeking around Szad's shoulder she sought out Siska and childishly stuck her tongue out at him. "Nnnnh."

Siska listened to Szad's words with a genuine inkling of interest, wondering what distant lands there could be that he had not explored... but he did not dwell on it for long, for the mood of the gathering was turning quite playful, and he had no wish to be a part of it. He took a step back, intending to move farther away.

"I intend to hear more from you, Szad, but as of now--"

And before he could finish his sentence, a solid, moving form nudged him forward. Even his strength could not stop the momentum; he had been thrown off balance. And before he could turn and berate his assailant, the flaxen-haired mare bowled right into his side! All sense of gravity was lost; he plummeted to the ground.

When his head was clear enough for him to focus again, he gazed up from his belly-up position and saw Javera hiding behind Szad, incompetent tongue stuck out at him. A sudden anger filled him--and also, long forgotten embarassment, and a bit of masculine excitement.

"How dare you!" he grunted, rolling to his stomach so he could get his legs under him. He quickly pushed himself up on his legs, shaking his body so that a layer of dirt rolled off of his fur. What an idiot he must look like! But in his heart, he felt something that he hadn't felt for a long, long time. The willingness to let go... and just live.

So, forcing his anger away, he let his face fall into a sinister, sly expression. His eyes were set on Javera.

"My turn," he snickered, and burst into a straight-on, full out gallop, not even caring if he knocked over the giant in the process.

Ha! It seemed as though she was closing the distance between herself and the black mare Javera, although she would need to angle herself carefully so as not to clip the stallion Siska in her play. He'd obviously expressed his desire to stay out of the game, and so Spook wasn't going to drag him into it-

What the full-fledged hell fires?! Out of nowhere her path suddenly became blocked, and after a startled cry and very last-second attempt to change her course, Spook barreled straight into the stallion's side.

Very little could be remembered after that. A sense of flying, or falling through the air, and a definate crash to the ground that could only be remembered by the fact her nose was pressed to the dirt. The moments after were hazy for the startled mare who lost her balance completely in her attempt to avoid hitting Siska, an unsuccessful attempt apparently. In the next moment sound returned, as did her vision as the hazy blackness sub-sided. Leaving a more than startled, if not somewhat frightened feeling coursing through her veins. She hadn't... her body couldn't be that fragile, could it? The mare flexed and tested muscles in various parts of her legs, and thankfully found that nothing was broken.

Breathing a very heavy sigh of relief, the mare rolled to her belly and gazed around her to view what was going on. Apparently Siska was alright, and somehow different. At least he hadn't been hurt. Well, no harm then, Spook could be thankful for that. Pushing herself up onto all fours proved to be a rather bad decision on her part, for a distinct and sharp pain shot up from her hock, causing her to pause as that fear came to her once again. She hadn't. It couldn't be broken. Leaning her weight on it and testing it she found that it indeed was not broken, but that didn't stop the leg from being tender.

Eyeing both Javera and now Siska in that playful mood, the mare decided against bringing them out of the mood, and merely breathed another heavy sigh, shaking her mane as she did so. No harm done, it was just play. However, as she moved to rejoin the group, the flaxen did not trot, canter, nor prance gleefully, she merely walked. A rather slow and strangely ungraceful walk for the spirited young mare. Despite the hint of white showing around her yellow eyes, Spook displayed a wry smile and friendly p***k of her ears as she called out to the group, "Children you say? Ha!"

Chocolate stood, amazed at the scene in front of her. Were they...fighting?But then she noticed that they were laughing."Oh!There playing!Maybe they'll let me join in..."she walked closer, just in time to see the stallion that was tipped over hurtling toward the mare that set him up.Not wanting to be hit,Chocolate decided to wait for a little more peaceful moment.

Pale Mist

It was all happening so suddenly. Szad watched as Vera sneaked up behind the black stallion, with a mischievous smile on her face. His ears flicked towards the sound of Spook's running hooves. And his nose smelled the mist of a prank. He looked around, his eyes anxious but also curious. His short tail flicked to the left, almost like a dog. What are they doing? he asked himself. Are they fighting...? But the atmosphere was a more pleasant and relaxed one. But also with a sprinkle of competition... He could not decipher it. He did not know that they were in fact playing. Szad looked around for an answer.

It was not that the large stallion was slow, but rather that he had never truly played a game in his life. His childhood had been very strange and twisted when compared to one of a normal foal. Games were not something he was taught during his young age. So naturally, he was becoming even more confused by the sudden change in situation. His muscles re-tensed. More defensively this time, and his ears were ready to flick backwards against his head. But his eyes were different. They were wide and curious. He could tell that they were not out to hurt each other with their speed and strength...so what were they doing...?
Suddenly, his ears switched from their backward position to one facing Siska as he spoke. His eyes looked in his as the words flowed out. "I intend to hear more from you, Szad, but as of now--"
BAM! his sentence was cut short as he was hit on the side by Spook. As they both fell to the ground, 'Vera ran up behind him for shelter. But he barely even noticed her. His body was rigid with horror and worry. Hurt...Are they hurt?. So were they really out to fight? He heard Javera playfully mocking them, and he knew that the answer was no. He looked at each of them. Siska was already on his feet. And thankfully un injured. But Spook...Spook. He looked as her eyes showed a hint of their white. Pain? Was she in pain? He lowered his front hoof, which he had unconsciously raised in fright, and walked over gently and slowly to her. His eyes locked with her's and he asked quietly, his voice filled to the brim with worry.
"H-hurt...you...hurt?"

She watched with a vague sense of horror as both Spook and Siska fell. She hadn't meant to cause any real mischief with her actions, and as she saw Spook get up with a cringe and limp, she hung her head guiltily. No one was meant to get hurt. This was all meant to be in fun, and to get the overly serious black to lighten up.

"Sorry about that Spook" she murmured softly.

She cringed slightly at the almost manic look in Siska's eyes. But she shook her head and lifted it with pride. Whatever the consequences of her actions, she would face them head-on and without flinching. Her determination was strong, but seeing the form of a rather larger being hurtling at her, it was a struggle to keep from following her instincts and running far far away from one who was out to do her harm.

Muscles tensed and flexed, wanting to get her as far out of there as swiftly as possible, and she bit her tongue to force herself to focus and stay still. This was just a game. He wouldn't seriously hurt her... would he?

She shut her eyes tightly and waited for the blow she was sure was coming.
