More than all of the people that have posted so far in this thread combined. And every single time, it has been by a colorguard member. Not the same member, but those flags really hurt. One time, during a competition, they all had these enormous purple flags that are like 20 feet long, and one of the girls was standing like, 19 feet away from me. Right as I played the last four measures of the song, she nailed me in the face with the flag. Since I was the only trumpet player, everything got screwed over, and I got a bloody face. It was messy. The judges only took off from the colorguard score, though. XD

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance...
None. But I've nailed a Color Guard member before. I went to spin around on my heel after a solo and the guard member who was doing her solo around me forgot and a I nailed her in the temple with my bell.
B*tch dented my Trumpet.
... In Switzerland they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace, what did they produce? The cuckoo clock.

1- Over the summer, before band camp freshman year, some burrowing owls took refuge in the football field. They left on, like, the second day of band camp. The only problem is that they left a couple pot holes in the middle of the field. I'm a tenor sax, so for much of the show, I was in front of the tubas. One of them tripped in the pot hole and landed on me. Those sousaphones hurt!
2-I was marching in front of the trombones this year. One of the freshies(this was my sophomore year) had over greased his slide majorly. It didn't slip of, but the pin at the end of the slid ended up hitting me in the back of the head. It left a small welt that hurt for weeks!
3-We were practicing an ownfully complex maneuver that involved the trumpets and saxophones marching backwards in a zig-zag type pattern, while the rest of the band did a similar pattern, though they were marching forward. Being a saxophone, I was marching backwards, so I ended up running into two clarinets, making me fall on my back, which also ended up snapping my reed in half!

If you think thats bad, try having a basedrum player try to run you over.
Bout a year ago, two of the bartione player tried to kill me when we did a "switch the boomerang" lines in one of our pieces. We then started making bets about who would win in a fight, piccolo player versus baritone guys. Most people were betting on me. xd

During one set, at the end of our opener, the line im leading, goes across the tubas and baritones, and the whole thing collapses towards the center, and in the process I got hit in the head with a tuba, and two baritones. The first time I got hit in the head with a tuba, my instructor literally made me keep playing! And we had to play a screaming note. Needless to say, this crazy part of the drill was taken out, and simplified into two horizontally moving blocks, instead of two blocks moving horizontally and moving forward at the same time.

In the end of our opener this past season, i had to go between the only 3 susaphones and almost everytime the freshman susaphone got off step and would run into me, a poor flute.
In the opener, the clarinets and flutes coupled up for 6 measures and one of the two would get down on one knee. Well of course all of us being girls it looked not only wierd but this past fall was wet, so at least one person fell in the mud everytime because the other person whould run into you.
In the Closer, we had EXTREMELY complex music, and this wierd swirl patern leading to this criss cross grid which people always ran into eachother pecause we were doing 2 steps per yard line backward at a 178 tempo.
Ah I love marching Band.

the flags had litle square holes in them this past season and multiple people accidentally steped in them and tripped when the gaurd member carrying the flag pulled the flag up to do another spinny thing....I got hit in the back of the head with a baratone bell and hit in the back with a flag, and, during another routine I stood next to a gaurd member, and while she was spinning she had her flag out to the side with her arms at a "Y", and they were slightly more open then normal so the flag blew in my face and I couldn't see the director, and we were at a hault.

Well, we play with Contrabass Tubas instead Sousaphones because they are convertable into concert tubas. Anyways, It was my 1st year, last year (as an 8th grader, I was just thrown a tuba [not literally] and had to learn it on my own). Anyways, we had to put it up on our left shoulders, which I cannot feel anymore, and I kind of missed my shoulder. and hit myself in my face. My beautiful face is fine, it's my eye that took all of the damage. Idc really, We are just unique biggrin Contra FTW!

I havent been hit too spectacularly... but last monday at parade practice my section (baritones) were lined up in front of the drumline and behind the mellophones/french horns, so my line had barely any room and I kept hitting the french horn section leader in the back with my marching baritone... lol cant wait for the parade tomorrow, hopefully my mouthpiece doesnt get knocked into my teeth -__-;

Haha, it's typically me that is doing all the hitting. sweatdrop I'm so clumsy. Last year, I pretty much dropped my alto sax into a flutist's lap, by accident. I occasionally swing my sax up when I start to play, which may hit another saxophonist along the way XD.
But my best friend plays bassoon, and she constantly purposely acts like it's a weapon of some sort and pretends to whack it at me. TSK TSK >: o

Two times. (Then again, It's my first year, so there is many more to come.)
The first time was by Drum Line, they were a set befor us, and I marched right into them, hiting the back of my head. xD
The other time was by a trumpet, I got to close and got clonked right in the side of my head.
