Maaika spun around to face the girl that her captain had just previously addressed.
"Yeah, you." She answered with a smile.

Sumiko trailed off~ for she didnt know how to respond to this for some reason.

Yu smiled, "Well, that's great, our group could do with more offensive abilities."
As they walked they came to a fork in the road and he stopped for a moment, his eyes glanced to the ground. Beneath him a broken forked twig.
"We're going left, the path to the road is blocked." At least someone was doing what she had said she would do. Looking around he seemed surprised though and of course he was, he had expected to meet up with more Shinigami already, perhaps a group on patrol.

As he started walking down his selected path, Yu spoke up, "Well...something is starting to seem out of place." He stopped for a moment and turned back, "Where is your patrol group?"
Yu decided that, now was the time to ask a few questions, it didn't particularly matter if she lied, he'd know but the answer she gave would point out a large part of what was wrong no doubt.

Sumiko's face turned pale.
"I'm not quite sure where my patrol is... The last thing I remember is seeing them looking confused and shocked and then waking up and find you all. Im sad to say that. heh heh"

Musing over the information as he walked he began to put information together. So far he hadn't seen any Shinigami, she had seen them bewildered before being rendered unconscious. This meant that either she was lying or something had happened inside the Gotei 13.
He wasn't so naieve as to think that the Gotei were impregnable but he had a hard time believing that the Hollow were able to do this without prior probing first.
Yu therefore was left with two choices. Either there was a coup d'etat within the Gotei 13 or this young Shinigami was lying.
"Ah..." Yu said at last coming to a stop, "Rukongai." As they came to a precipice, the tree's seemed to clear and they were left with sprawling slums for miles, in the distance the Gotei 13. They still had a bit of a walk but nothing too far, just a downward walk to the plains below and a few miles before the stretch of the slums.
He scratched his head, something seemed a little off, but he couldn't put his finger on it.

Quellu jumped out of the tree line having back tracked to follow the group a little while ago. Coming to a stand before the precipe she turned.
"Rukongai is the the slums where the konpaku, or powerless spirits reside, it is by far the most peaceful district and the most popular of the districts. It is said that the former 12th Division Commander Urahara Kisuke once had a base here."
She turned to the commander.
"Something is afoot commander, the Konpaku seem to be wandering in large groups... almost as if they were patrolling."

"That is indeed strange." He pondered for a minute, "Well, we had better get going. Sumiko, you'll be leading the way. Quellu, You'll be beside her and we'll bring up the rear." A simply square formation really, but it was the best he could do in this terrain as he pointed to a path that lead down a steep cliff side.
"Let's go." Yu said finally before stepping off expecting everyone else to fall into place.

Quellu stepped into her position. It seemed strange to be walking in a group after so long. She didn't often get to walk in a group and quite a few times, she found herself trying to keep in step.
"Sumiko," Quellu spoke up, "Where do you come from?" She waited for a moment, "In Seireitei that is." She herself hadn't returned home in so long she'd be surprised if those who had taken her in were still there.

Sumiko looked back at Quellu with a smile that wasn't quite a smile.
"I seriously cannot remember where I came from. I think I lost part of my memory when I was knocked unconscious."
Sumiko frowned at what she had just said but started to laugh after a few seconds had passed.

The small group was unaware that they had been followed by a dozen or so thugs, but the thugs were taken out so swiftly,so silently, that they didn't even cry out or make any noise. Their was only one being left following them: the assaian. The assaian was listening to their conversation, but not with much interest. The assaian was lost, so it decided to follow the Shinigami, because they knew where they were going,and they might lead the assaian to its target. The assaian was very well concealed, but it had to make sure it didn't make any noise,or it would never find its way.
