"Distractions I can do." Kat gave a quick nod. "The clothes will only buy me a small amount of time, though, but I've fared well enough on my own in the past." She waited for him to undo the shackles.

Ruby St.Claire "Distractions I can do." Kat gave a quick nod. "The clothes will only buy me a small amount of time, though, but I've fared well enough on my own in the past." She waited for him to undo the shackles. He didn't dally- His finger slimmed down as he swiftly picked the lock. "Now run! Get going- Now!" Rook stepped backwards, his appearance shifting swiftly to one heavily beaten, before slumping against the wall, and closing his eyes.

"G-got it..." trying to sound calm and collected, he turned directly behind him and began to run until Zipper was nearly dragging him back the way they came. Even though his dad had said Rook could be trusted, he was still scared out of his mind.
He wasn't gonna let it out though...or, at least, try not to.
Zipper came to a sudden halt. Adam could hear him sniffing around, and the voices of other Keepers. Between gasps of air, he cried out, "Mr Lincoln! Something bad is happening back there! Please help!!!!"

Kat didn't dally either. She took off at high speed. It would take more than running to get out of the outpost, and she knew that. But ED didn't really want to get into the details. Suffice it to say she didn't get away entirely clean. Despite all, she managed to get away, a bullet in her side, but away none the less.

Linc was lounging on the couch, flipping his knife around. He smiled as Adam showed up, his knife and hand disappearing into his pocket. "Something bad? I leave Rook alone with a backslider, and something bad happens? Well I do say, how unexpected is that." He chuckled slightly, pulling himself up. "Come boy, let's hear the story."

Zipper began to become fidgety as well, walking circles around him, tail tucked and a slight whimper emitting from his throat.

Linc backed away a bit from the panicked kid and his dog. "Chill, we'll go and help him." He sped up his pace to the dungeon. "Chains clanking, shouts, and a command to run?" Linc's eyes narrowed slightly. "He didn't kill her then."

Linc's eyes narrowed slightly. "He didn't kill her then." In the dungeon, Rook laid there, marks across his face from the chains, as he did his best to stand straight, looking to Lincoln, "I went to cut the b***h's throat, and she got me, good. I remember sliding the blade out of my wrist one second, and then I'm laying on the ground and she's gone the next/.

Linc chuckled softly. "I'll call for a healer, and have you seen too." Linc's smile turned up a notch. "I'll be going after her."
He paused by Adam, "no more worries for you, then. Good job done, boy." Then he was gone. He collected information on guards, set up an alert, and set out himself.

The hurt goes, but the pain stays when I shift." He replied, his body shifting to a featureless silver humanoid frame, before shifting to Rook's chosen form again, right as rain, "I just need some pain killers and I'm good for it."

"I'll keep you posted." He called, before climbing into a SUV, making towards the city proper. (Story line continued on the beach)

Crane hung up the phone, pinching the bridge of his nose, glaring at the receiver rocking gently on the counter. "Lincoln! Can I have a word?!" He called, standing up, and walking to the door of his office, looking out in outer room.

Linc acknowledged the man with a nod. "What is it Crane?" He asked. Linc had been balancing a multitude of tasks on his plate and wasn't particularly patient. The newly powered were continuing to pop up at a steadily increasing rate. The particularly dangerous ones more of a council-demand than finding the backslider Kat and her mysterious helper...effectively throwing a wrench into any attempt to track them down.
