Kairi Mari Tappen The heart is the place where we live our passions. It is frail and easily broken, but wonderfully resilient. There is no point in trying to deceive the heart. It depends upon our honesty for its survival. So tell me.Are you truly being honest or are you breaking that frail heart that I trust you with?
Kairi fiddled with her fingers as she sat in the room where you could visit those in jail. She had never been to a jail before, so this was strange, you could feel how much people didn't enjoy being here. She sighed, waiting for Alex was like torture. She could feel tears welling up in her chest but she wouldn't cry, not now, especially since Alex was going to be here. Or maybe he wasn't.He could always say no. She didn't even know if Alex knew who he was coming to see. She could see she was still bleeding and covered her hand with her sleeve before putting it in her pocket and tapping at the table she was sitting at.
She could see other prisoners and visitors being escorted around, everyone seemed one edge or dangerous, she didn't want Alex to turn into that person. Seeing him being walked by she felt like she wanted to leave now, she didn't know why she decided to come, she was stupid, but it was to late to leave now.She pulled at her sleeves, letting her hood fall down. She probably looked horrible since she hadn't eaten or slept but it really was to late to leave now.Her heart skipped and sped up as the door opened, the man letting Alex in. She bit her lip, giving the best smile she could muster. "Alex.."

Alexander Leo Wright “Everyone says you only fall in love once but that's not true, every time I hear your voice I fall in love all over again. ” Walking past the various jail cells he realized he knew most of the people here and so his stay wouldn't be that bad. He even smirked at one of them, an old friend of Ian's and reminded himself to come back to greet him if he ever got the chance. His smile dropped as he continued to walk and continually pondered who would come visit him in such a dreadful place. He didn't have much time to think about it because his escort wanted him to walk faster.
Once he reached the room of people that came to visit he felt his vision go hazy. It was her. Suddenly he wanted to run to her and embrace her, just to have a lingering memory of her because he knew he would be in jail for quite some time. Yet he refrained remembering how she had rejected him. His face grew cold and he fought to smile, but failed.
"Kairi. What are you doing here?" He whispered as he was allowed to walk over and take a seat in front of her. Though she didn't look her best, Alexander still found her beautiful. Even though the thin lines under her eyes betrayed her loss of sleep. His own eyes mirrored hers but his weren't filled with distress like hers were. His were an empty pool of violet. Meanwhile his finger began to drum on the tabletop.

Biting her lip Kairi looked back to the table as Alex sat down. His question wasn't exactly easy to answer. She fiddled with her fingers once more, scratching at some drying blood on her hand under the table. She opened her mouth to answer but closed it and looked to Alex who also looked different. He was still handsome but his eyes weren't the same. Their was no feeling in them. It hurt her on the inside, it made her heart sink, even hatred would have been better to see than nothing. "I don't know.." She finally answered, biting her lip as she thought over what she was going to say to him. "I suppose.. I just wanted to make sure your okay.. I know your not. I mean.. your in jail." She muttered not happy about it. "I just wanted to see you and apologize. Say that im sorry for saying what I did before this happened, I didn't mean it!"She blurted before covering her mouth, looking away.
She had meant to keep that inside. It would only be harder if he was in jail and knew she had lied about not wanting to be with him, she was digging herself into a hole here if she didn't know what she could do about getting Alex out of here. "T-that's not what I meant to say.."She whispered, biting her lip and tapping the table along with him. "I just don't want you to sit in here. I want to try and get you out but my father won't let me out of the house. I'm not even supposed to be here.." She whispered for only Alex to hear, she turned, politely asking the guard if he would give them privacy. He eyes her skeptically but nodded, walking out the door but listening lightly from the window. She looked back to Alex "From my point of view you did nothing wrong, there was no kidnapping and you in no way tried to harm me so I want to help you get out of this."

Alexander Leo Wright “Everyone says you only fall in love once but that's not true, every time I hear your voice I fall in love all over again. ” Following her mood wasn't easy. She seemed to be doubtful about where to start but he thought he knew what she was going to say, yet when her mouth opened he was taken by surprise. She was apologizing? For landing him in jail? Alexander almost cracked a smile but the dreary look of the place only helped to remind him of the past days events. He waited until she spoke to the very end. Her eyes remaining distressed the whole time as she fiddled with something under the table and constantly bit her lip; a habit he had learned to recognize as nervousness and anxiety. Finally when she had finished a moment of silence enveloped them before he opened his own mouth and spoke.
"Look Kairi. I'm in here for something I did wrong. I did kidnap you and you know damn well that I did. The fact that our feeling--that things changed while we were together in that room makes of no importance. I'm getting what I deserve Kairi because when I kidnapped you I knew there was a chance of me going to jail. There isn't anything to do here Kairi." He felt frustration bubbling inside him. Why did she want to help him when she didn't want to be with him anyway? Was she torturing him? Did she not know that he didn't want to be free if he couldn't be with her? That last thought hit him hard. He was shocked by the intensity of the thought and found himself looking away from her now, unable to meet her gaze. His eyes filling with emotion for the first time; surprise. "My trial is in two days and I have until then to get a decent lawyer but nothing that he or she says will land me out of here. Your father is powerful and has the money to make minds sway. There is nothing you can do with your father in your way. So let us just say goodbye and go our separate ways." His eyes froze again, locking on her. They displayed no emotion, but inside his fragile heart had begun to shatter.

Kairi starred at Alex, watching him after what she had just said and the silence made her shiver, she had never liked silence, it held the truth in the air. She could hear her heart beating and she hadn't realized it but she had been holding her breath. Listening to him she kept a hold on a blank face. On the inside she was bubbling up and she could feel herself about to go off on him. Did he really not want to get out of here and be with her like he had before? She said she hadn't meant it, that she lied when she said she didn't want to be with him. He obviously didn't get it anymore, which meant he didn't care anymore. She knew this would happen, but that's what she wanted a while ago right? For him to forget about her and get to the money and leave? Yeah. Thats what she had wanted.
She clenched her fists under the table. It was no importance. Thats what he thought about it. A big part of her died, right there. "You see Alex, this is why I never opened up to people, in the end im just a big burden.."She shook her head. Letting a few tears fall that she had been trying to keep away since this had happened. She wiped them away and stood up. "I thought you were a fighter, someone who refused to give up so easily. I guess I was wrong to think so. I guess I was wrong to come and try to help."She felt the anger boiling up again and her she shoved her hands in her pockets, she refused to get angry at him, there was nothing she could do if this is what he wanted. "If its what you think is best, then goodbye and goodluck Alex."She muttered, knocking on the door and waiting for the guard to let her out. She wouldn't look at him, or think about him anymore. Even if it was hard. He didn't want her, and that's really what hurt the most out of all of this.

Alexander Leo Wright “Everyone says you only fall in love once but that's not true, every time I hear your voice I fall in love all over again. ” Living in the streets had frozen over his heart to prevent this disappointment from ever happening, but nothing could've prepared him for what she said next. Her words stung, far more than his had. His brother had always called them Robin Hoods, fighting for what they thought was righteous and earning a living for themselves when their own mother had failed them. Everything he had fought to do was thrown away in the moment her mouth opened and she literally blamed him for opening up again. He had disappointed her. A truth that hurt more than him saying goodbye to the one thing he had come to care for. He stood. His hands clenched into fists and he felt like shooting himself but something snapped.
"You are mistaken" He spoke as she turned her back to him. "I am a fighter and I will get out of this alive, but I'm not willing to drag anyone down with me." His words were strong, confident as he easily took her wrist in his hand and pulled her to him with ease. His violet eyes filled with pride as he softly lifted her chin to him and placed the softest kiss upon her sweet lips.
"Goodbye Kairi." He whispered as the door opened and he released her, walking away.

Kairi held back a jump as she heard Alex speak, something that surprised her. She was mistaken? No, not true. He had yet to prove her wrong and so she stood where she was, waiting and wanting to shove the door open. She didn't want to hear his voice anymore. She did gasp, feeling his hand on her wrist and instinctively went to push him away until he had pulled her to him. His skin burned her, and her heart skipped with his lips to hers. He hadn't changed, he was still Alex, but he was different still. Though seeing something in his eyes made her start to cry when he left. She couldn't hold them back anymore as she ran out the door of the visiting room. A guard shouting for her. She didn't listen.
It had started to rain hard outside, and her knee's buckled underneath her, letting her lean against the wall of the jail away from the door. She covered her face with her hood, sniffling and trying to wipe away the tears before she touched her lips. "I would gladly let you drag me down Alex..there's no way for me to get up without you.."She muttered to herself. She didn't want to leave him and he wouldn't drag her down, her father didn't trust her and she wasn't allowed to see her friends anymore. What else would she do. She grasped her knee's trying to calm herself as she starred at the passing cars, wondering what would happen if she just ran in front of one. She couldn't do it, but right now, it was keeping her mind off the one man she wanted to help but couldn't.

Alexander Leo Wright “Everyone says you only fall in love once but that's not true, every time I hear your voice I fall in love all over again. ” Guard's shouting behind him caused him to turn but saw nothing but a mere guard catching his breath. He waved him on, urging him to hurry to his damp cell. Shrugging, Alexander walked to his jail cell with the weight of the world on his shoulders. He had this now refined spirit to get out of jail and live his life, though he knew he would be following Kairi around a lot, in the shadows. Wow, stalker much? He chuckled to himself, a foreign sound in a jail as the prisoners looked at him as he passed by. He ignored them as his footsteps uttered silent pleas for help. Finally upon reaching his cell he laid in bed, closing his eyes to hear the heavy fall of rain.
A figure out in the street saw the female run out. He knew her, had met her a while ago. He walked over to her with an umbrella outstretched to stop the falling rain from hitting her any further. Kneeling down to look at her he flashed her a soft smile and said, "Hello Kairi. Remember me?" His own violet eyes flickering with an ancient mischief though it was covered by a profound sadness.

Using her sleeve to wipe her face Kairi gave a small huff, her sleeve was wet, not that it mattered, all of her was wet. She coughed a little, having been crying and blinked when she didn't feel the rain anymore. She looked around, seeing a pair of legs and pulled her hood down. Seeing a familiar face. A small smile played at Kairi's lips hearing Ian's voice. "Ian..it's nice to see you." She said, wiping her face with her hands this time with about as much success as her sleeve. " Were you visiting?" She asked, which is most likely the only reason, but it was Ian. You never knew.
Thinking about Alex made her a bit crestfallen but she didn't want to be depressing, she could see that Ian was sad, even if he had to hide it. She looked back to Ian. "Listen, im sorry...about Alex. Is there anything I can do to help?"She asked, searching his face for anything that said yes. "I would do anything to help. "She admitted, there wasn't a lot she could do now except help. She had already ran away from home, well not fully but she had broken away from her father.

Alexander Leo Wright “Everyone says you only fall in love once but that's not true, every time I hear your voice I fall in love all over again. ” His lips pulled into a familiar smirk that eerily resembled Alexander's. "Its great to see you too Kairi. I was visiting.. sort of.. I'm not allowed to go in or else I'll be an accomplice and thrown in with my brother and what good am I to him if I'm locked in too?" He sighed and held the umbrella over her letting the rain wash away his pain for a few seconds before joining her in sitting down. The trouble behind her eyes was enough for him to see that she cared a great deal for his brother. "You shouldn't be sorry. We should be apologizing Kairi. I didn't think this would end up hurting anyone, much less my little brother. I.. I miss him." He muttered looking up though his eyes had a distant look to them.
Glancing over to her he smiled. "You were probably the best thing that happened to him though. I doubt there is anyway to help though. Your dad has the last say and I'm pretty sure he'll find you in time to prevent you from helping if not I'd ask you to testify."

A smile graced Kairi's lips seeing a somewhat familiar smirk. It quickly faded and she sighed. "I see, that's true. Though you two are rather sneaky." She muttered so Ian had probably already seen Alex. She leaned on Ian's shoulder after he sat down, she felt like she was going to fall over. Probably from lack of sleep but rest wouldn't come. "I know, ive been told that a million times, some by myself but for some reason I can't not feel like this is somehow my fault."She sighed, and glanced at Ian, she felt his pain. Although she didn't know how it felt to lose a brother, someone you grew up with and had such a close connection to. "Yeah.. I miss him too. Visiting didn't exactly help either.."
She blushed softly, and a small grin graced her lips. "I doubt that. Although I do know he enjoyed my cooking. "She chuckled and sat up, starring at Ian. "The only thing holding me back is my father. He probably doesn't even know im out of my room. If I can keep away from him long enough I can testify." She said, grabbing Ian's free hand. She wanted to help, she really did. "Ian they haven't found you yet. Let me stay with you for a little while. At least until im able to testify. I can stop at my house and grab my things. Please Ian, if I can get to a judge, to anyone who listen im sure they would let Alex go." She pleaded, she didn't want to testify, she needed to.

"I saw him. His voice gives away how much he longs to be free." He muttered before looking up and nodded. "Visiting him never helps. He's such a pain sometimes but you know what? I love him." He chuckled and stood up with her hand in his. He knew this would help his brother and yet he also knew that Alexander might potentially hate him for dragging her into this but he wasn't going to let his brother rot in jail. "Fine. You can help but I do hope you know that Alexander will have my neck for this." He muttered with a smirk and squeezed her hand. "If anyone can free him it's you Kairi. You're my last hope.. and his. Let's go and get your things."
The umbrella in one hand and her hand in another he took a step and smiled encouragingly. Things were starting to look up. "I'm coming back to visit him later tonight will you be coming?" He asked curiously.

Kairi chuckled a little, she knew it. "I think anyone in jail would want to be free." She stated, which was probably true. She held back a laugh, they argued and bickered but they loved each other. they were family, and they knew it whether or not they were fighting. She was giddy with happiness at the moment, a chance to help Alex brightened her mood, it might actually work. She could get him out. They could get him out. She laughed, and shrugged. "No skin off my bones Ian. I'm sure he'll calm down, don't worry about it." She said encouragingly, a soft smile taking her face and she nodded. She knew she was their only hope, without her opinion and statement it was all up to what her father said and what Alex did not get to say. "I promise to do the best I can." She nodded, and think of what she would do at the trail she had to think about coming to see Alex tonight.
She stood next to Ian, looking at her shoes and thinking. "I think I will. I don't want him to know im with you when I go though okay. I have a plan." She grinned, she would need Ian's help. She gave him a small hug. "Thank you Ian. "

Now as he watched her emotions turn from the bitter sadness to elated joy he allowed himself a moment of happiness and grinned. "He should calm down eventually. So what're you going to get?" He asked as she stood and hugged him briefly. The hug reminded him of something and so he took the moment to allow some comic relief on the situation. "I'll help you on one condition. You must introduce me to some of your single female friends." He winked and chuckled. "So what's the plan miss?" He asked eyeing how she had a mischief glint in her eye, something he knew would only make his visit that much more pleasant.

Kairi nodded, she was right again. She had wished it was as easy as it was said though. She couldn't imagine how peeved Alex would be when he found out what was going on. She thought for a moment. "Well I need some cloths and my cell phone. Along with a credit card and Camera memory card." She nodded, she thought that was it, it could easily fit in her messengers bag. She chuckled, and nodded. "That condition seems reasonable. I'm sure my friends would adore you Ian. I'm sure to have a party sooner or later after we get Alex out, you and all of my friendly girls will be invited."She winked, he would surely have fun with that. She grinned, shoving her free hand in her pocket. "Well, I happen to know of a few pictures on Alex's camera that could help my case. If I plan to prove Alex was in no harm to me that would help considerably. I also want to send him a little message on his camera, it won't take long but that will be the last thing accomplished on our visit. I don't want him arguing with us on my helping. Got it?" She asked, seeing as didn't know if Ian knew what she was talking about. Granted she didn't know what she was talking about half the time.
