Liam climbed out of bed. Holding the phone to his ear with one hand, the bartender began searching through his bedroom for some clean clothes. He needed to do laundry, but that would have to wait one more day. "Uhm..." He tried to multitask but it was not working too well. "There's a little diner on 3rd street at Mission. Does that sound alright?" he asked, and successfully found a pair of clean jeans that also made his a** look good. What luck.

"Hm? 3rd street at Mission. Ah yes, I rememer the diner there. That will be fine. I'll meet you there in...?" Mikoto wasn't quite sure which amount of time would be appropriate. The earliest he ever met someone was an hour, and then there were delays... Huh, in that case... "...Is in a half hour good?" While saying this, he fixed his hair which still looked like bed-head.

Liam quickly calculated how long it would take him to get from his apartment to the diner, provided the buses were on time. "I need to take a shower, I smell like the club still," he said into the phone as he pulled open a drawer and riffled through it for a shirt that would make him look as good as those pants did. "So, more like an hour? If that's alright with you?" He hoped it would not put the other man off too much.

"Sure, that's no problem." Mikoto replied as he glanced around the room for some clothes to change into.

"Fantastic!" Liam enthused, and at the same time he picked up a shirt that he liked. "I will see you then, and I look forward to it." He really was. This was something he had waited for his entire adult life. All his dreams were coming true. He just hoped his enthusiasm did not scare off the other man, for it seemed he was less informed about their past lives than Liam was.

"Okay, see you then!" Mikoto said simply and hung up. He then went through his closet for something plain. He mostly had business clothes, but he found a pair of comfortable jeans, a with shirt, and a regular jacket in case it got cool. Once he was dressed and completely ready, he headed out.

Maybe this wasn't such a good idea... He thought to himself as he sat at the diner, waiting. He had arrived a bit early, 15 minutes to be exact. It was a habit due to work. It let him with thoughts going through his mind. Also, it didn't help his confusion as to why he had brought the notebook in which he'd written down the prince's story. Right now, he was reading it, and he couldn't possibly connect him self to the person within. Two different worlds.

Liam showered as quickly as he could and pulled on the clothes he had picked out. Wiping the condensation off of the bathroom mirror with a towel, he looked at his face and hair. At least he'd managed to sleep pretty well the night before, so his face looked fine. The hair, on the other hand, needed to be brushed out and he hesitated for a moment, wondering if he should leave it down or pull it back. Eventually he decided that he didn't want to seem too casual, and pulled the long bleached locks back into a ponytail at the base of his neck.

The bartender grabbed his keys and wallet as he headed to the door and toed on a pair of worn sneakers. Did he have his bus pass? Yes. Cell phone? Check. And the door was locked. So he hurried down from his apartment and out onto the street, catching the first bus that pulled up to the stop.

He was at the diner twenty minutes later. Liam checked his watch as he approached the door, but because he had not looked at a clock when he woke up he had no idea how long it had been. He hoped he was not too late.

Mikoto glanced at his watch again. 20 minutes has passed since he had arrived. So, the other was 5 minutes late. If this were business, this would be an offense. But, this was just a casual get-together. "Hm...I wonder if this was a bad idea after all?"

Just as he was deciding to leave, he caught sight of the other coming inside. For some reason, it made him feel relieved. "Oh...that's right..." He put the notebook into the small pack he always carried with him in case he got inspiration for a script.

Liam pushed open the diner door, setting off a small bell that hung above so that his entrance was announced with a small tinkling. The young man's brown eyes searched through the small diner until they found the figure he was looking for. A grin spread across his face as he spotted Mikoto and began heading toward him.

"Hey," he said as he slid into his seat across from the other man. "Am I late? Sorry, I tried to get here as quickly as I could."

"It's...alright." There it is again! Mikoto thought. Why does he make words feel so foreign to speak? "I...thought about what you said yesterday. At firs tI thought, 'this isn't possible,' but it must be. Right?" Mikoto spoke slowly, as if he wasn't sure of what he wanted to say. As a result, he seemed to give off an air that suggested he was lost.

Liam smiled sympathetically. So this was all new to the other man. No wonder he seemed so shy and overwhelmed. "Sometimes I feel the same," he replied. There was so much he wanted to say to Mikoto, and so much that he wanted to ask, but he did not want to overwhelm the other man too much. Liam did not know what he would do if he scared the other man away. "Have you ordered yet?" he asked to keep their conversation casual, "I'm famished; haven't eaten since last night."

"Um, no. Not yet. Only water so far." Mikoto replied. With that said, he looked through the menu, he saw various things, but ended up ordering a simple salami sandwich with other various meat layers on it. Then it occured to him that Liam might find it strange and a light blush painted his cheeks.

"Uh..." He didn't know what to say. He'd done it again. A lot of people found him strange when they saw he loved his meats. At home, he couldn't eat much good meat. Then a sudden thought occured to him. He waited until after Liam had ordered to speak. "Um, uh, I have a...notebook...here. I...think I want you to... Yeah, I want you to read it." He slowly passed it across to Liam. "It's...the prince's story. Well, what I have recorded...so far." It sounded strange, having to refer to someone who was him and not him at the same time. There was only one thing certain, the present him: a script writer; the past: a prince.

Because this was actually Liam's breakfast he ordered a cup of coffee and an egg salad sandwich with cole slaw on the side, even though the hamburger on the menu looked very appealing.

When Mikoto pulled out the notebook, Liam was at first curious, and then very much intrigued. "You wrote it down?" he asked, taking the notebook and opening it slowly. He had kept a journal since he was a child to keep him from confusing present day with the past, but none of the snippets in there were organized in any way. "Wow," he breathed, beginning to read through the first page. "This is... Is this... After Laeglas died?"
PostPosted: Tue Sep 08, 2009 1:25 pm

"Y-yes. It goes backwards from the war. Right now,, I've just reached the point where...Laeglas...first disappeared. It's...very confusing. Since it's going backwards...that is." Mikoto glanced briefly at the cieling while taking sighing. The simple knowledge that Liam was able to recognize the story altogether eased him a bit. Not understanding 'his' own story was quite stressful. "There are many things I wish to ask, but... I shall wait until you have finished reading. So that we may be on the same page. There are many things, in the book, of which I understand nothing about. My hand merely wrote out the words as if possessed..." He trailed off as their food arrived.

Liam looked up as the waitress returned with their food, and his eyes lit up. He really was starving, and he thanked the waitress as he pulled his plate closer to him and picked up his sandwich. He took a large bite out of it and chewed as he looked over the notebook.

Liam was quite interested in reading the whole thing, though he settled for the first page right now. These were things he had never seen, nor ever would see for himself. "If this all happened after Laeglas died, then I don't think I'll be of much help. I won't be able to remember any of it." But he was eager to know what his past lover had done after his death. What was his reaction to Laeglas' suicide? Then again, maybe he did not want to know.
