Scipio320 but you never explained to me one all out counter to salemence which you are asking of latias look all im saying is there isnt an all out counter to every single pokemon in ou and thats mostly the bases behind latias being uber I just did. Edit: I understand what you are saying, but the amount of counters that compare to Salamance and Lucario vs Latias is just far outweighed. Latias has too fewer pokes to counter it compared to any other in the OU scene.

Scipio320 but you never explained to me one all out counter to salemence which you are asking of latias look all im saying is there isnt an all out counter to every single pokemon in ou and thats mostly the bases behind people wanting latias to be uber again. Choice Scarfed T-Tars with Ice Punch (courtesy of the Platinum Move Tutor) will always go first, and inflict massive amounts of damage- Max Attack T-Tars (31 IV, Adamant, 252 EV) will OHKO most max Def Salamences (31 IV, + Def nature, 252 EV) that don't have Yache Berry- the only exception is if the vast majority of remaining EVs were thrown in HP. Most physically bulky Salamences will put a maximum of 180 Evs in Defense and normally opt for Jolly, further decreasing its defenses and assuring a OHKO without a Yache Berry.
Max attack Weavile with Ice Punch will always OHKO non-Yache Berry Salamence. Rarely to Salamence pack Yache Berries on a Defensive set, however, seeing as their goal is to stall out the other team- Leftovers is the preferred item of choice, making the chances of surviving an Ice Punch altogether even more rare.
Max attack Life Orb Mamoswines will OHKO with Ice Shard without Yache Berry or Max HP/Def sets, and will still do heavy damage, regardless. Seeing as most Salamence pack Jolly to run faster than Ice Punch Lucario, their defenses drop to merit a nice OHKO for Mamoswine.
Salamence generally doesn't have the defenses to merit a Yache, as it's better implemented by Dragonite.
Porygon2 traces Intimidate, can carry Ice Beam and Thunderbolt, and can shrug off mixed sets.
Donphan counters physical sets with ease and can Stone Edge its threat away.
Need I list more counters?

Can one pokemon flat out completly 100% counter any salemence set

Don't forget any pokemon with a Focus Sash and any decent stat in attack or special attack with corresponding Ice move for Salamance or fighting move with Lucario.
That has got to be alot of pokes... razz
Edit: Cough... Bronzong with a sassy nature....

Donphan sponges physical sets, Blissey sponges Special sets, and both can easily survive a switch if it's locked into a move via a Choice item, making prediction a snap. Gliscor also does very well if Salamence isn't packing a Choice Draco Meteor.
Cormimi mentions the Focus Sash, and I in turn would like to bring up all the previous counters I'd mentioned, as they would all work equally well with that item in their possession.
Any more questions?
Edit: I second the Bronzong notion. :p

Name the likelihood that you're going to be able to predict any given set, let alone know what sets omit what moves, and I'll listen to that argument.
Calm Mind Latias is just as likely to carry one Sp. Attack as another. Psycho Shift Latias may be totally offensive, with only that one defensive move. Another may be a double screener with status-inducing effects, while another status-inducer may carry an arsenal of offensive moves.
You won't know its set until it reveals all four of its moves, unlike Salamence.
Your argument holds no water. Try again.

Scipio320 Ok then blissey can counter no psycho shift latias wile scizor counters no hp fire latias in addition to a multitude of stell types and with no grass knot tyranitar counters latias Did you read any of my previous posts friend? Latias doesn't have a definative counter, where as Salamance has a sassy bronzong to completely counter all his sets. On the top of that, there are a multitude of pokemon that can revenge KO salamance, where as Latias can't be as easily. Also adding on top of that, Stealth rock does a good number to Salamance and sets it up to be easily KOed by neutral damage from any poke capable of surviving its attack or out speeding it, where that hardly even effects Latias. And also on top of that, the 2x vs electric damaage and 4x damage it cannot to take from ice (which are all too common in the game) vs Latias's 2x dragon, bug, dark (which are not quite as common as ice and electric) as well as 2x ghost (which latias can survive with its massive special defense stat tied with recover and access to light screen.)

firstly electric attacks dont hit salemence for super effective nuetral cause of dragon. Secound its very unlikly anyone would run psycho shift on an offensive calm mind because of lack of type coverage and or recovery. You can usually figure out what latias is by seeing what there switching in on or what they are doing. the only thing that seperates latias from other pokemon is it has the potential to be both offensive and defensive but it cant be both.

You can usually figure out what latias is by seeing what there switching in on or what they are doing. the only thing that seperates latias from other pokemon is it has the potential to be both offensive and defensive but it cant be both. I'll admit, I did make a mistake when I said electric. I meant to say rock and dragon. Aside from that, it can be both. It has enough in its speed stat to be faster than half of the pokes in OU without distributing any EV's in it. Second, who needs to dump EVs really into special attack when you can use calm mind to both bolster its defense as well as its offense. Granted, you may have to dump some EV's into defense just to save grace from physical threats, but as long as Calm mind boosts its stats, as well as recover heals any residue damage it takes, you have one nasty pokemon setting up, and that is without heavy EV investing. To contradict your previous point, how many pokemon in the OU tier meta game can be that diverse and unpredictable? Your argument concerning it being countered as long as you find out what kind of set up it is holds no ground because no pokemon in the OU has that kinda of versatility as well as adding the defense and speed to set it up, as well as having some kind of offensive to fight back with. Responding to one of your statement, Psycho Cut may have been a bad example, but does dragon pulse work for you? or how about that tied with HP fire, HP Fighting or Surf for complete neutral damage to all pokes? Seems like your missing the point to Kuraikitty's example from her rebuttal. I am not speaking for her when I say this, as I am mearly interpreting, but regardless of what set up Latias goes with, there are a greater amount of possibilities for that poke to set up and hardly enough counters for one team of 6 to counter them all. (Also I am stealing one her arguments from the garchomp thread and altering it a bit. xp Who would want to create a team just to try and counter one poke? rolleyes ) Edit: I would also like to add that the only pokemon that I can think off the top of my head, that are that have that kind of impressive move pool and have the stats to back them up are Mew and Arceas. There are other pokes in the OU scene with great move pools, great stats in offense, defense, and speed, but not the entire package.

I have never used or battled either Latias or Latios, but I say uber. Just from the fact he/she has so many sets available and pretty nasty base stats.

Smogon?
I honestly can't believe you went to Smogon for your last argument.
Who cares, if this is about the D/P guild tierlist? -.-
Stop clinging to Smogon's teat and stand up on your own two legs. Their tier list is based on usage and power in that community. We're trying to figure out whether Latias should be put into OU in this guild.
You're comparing oranges and apples again.
In addition, I hate to say it, but personal experience doesn't really count as an argument- you need evidence. Statistics. Numbers. Proof.
Edit: A read on the first page states that Smogon themselves is arguing Latias's tier placing! If they've the right to question her placing, then by golly, shouldn't we?

Lol there also suspect testing latios garchomp shaymin s and manaphy should we also debate them as well latias isnt a problem on smogon. But you are correct in saying that since this isnt smogon we should come up with are own decision. personally either way it doesnt matter to me much.
My final remarks are the metagame will survive even with a super star like latias in it. If it proves to be to strong we can kick it out but first we need to test it instead of debating wether it should or shouldnt be uber.

If it proves to be to strong we can kick it out but first we need to test it instead of debating wether it should or shouldnt be uber. You can't even use Shaymin-S in online battles, their debate is strictly for Shoddy. That's one down. Garchomp has already been debated, that's another down. Concerning Latios, well if Latias is already getting bombed I'm pretty sure its more offensive-counterpart doesn't stand much of a chance (with or without Soul Dew), and debating it as well would be a waste of everyone's time. So that's number three down. Manaphy, well if you've ever encountered one in a Rain Dance team, then let's just say that ends the discussion on that, so that's another one done.
As KuraiKitty already pointed out, this isn't Smogon; this is D/P Gaming. Smogon is severely more Shoddy based than you realize. And on top of that, obviously Smogon has made mistakes before in the past (one example: Deoxys-S), so the decision to work off from the old base Smogon tier list (before all of this pain in the arse new testing they've done) with the edits of our own choosing; all the while keeping a watchful eye on changes they have made and debating them for ourselves. EDIT: In either case, with Thursday now crashing in, that means the voting poll of this thread is officially closed. Many thanks to everyone for their input, it will be taken into consideration when it comes time to decide the fate of this particular Pokemon.
