alicelights Inane Whimsies Of course those types of feelings really exist inside of some people. but isn't it rather that these feelings, in fact, exist in everybody. However in more diluted forms they are simply given different names. Ambition ---> power-hunger ---> sadism (bad example but I think it gets accross what I am saying) I suppose what I meant was only some people would have those feelings and use the Death Note in a way like Light did.
Though, I'm sure I'd probably be surprised about exactly how many people could handle using a Death Note as well as Light has...

After all, when the gun was first made, nobody thought "I can use this to destroy all evil and reform the world."

Though I do quite like the death penalty, it is a good deterrent after all. I know there are quite a few people who think it's utterly unfair.
I would not be able to handle the death note like Raito. I could probably manage to handle it for a while, but I would eventually slip up, since I usually pass over the fine details.
I would slip up at the pencil lead in my door thingy. That's like... woah. I'd never have thought of that.
I would try to kill all the mean people though. I know that I would get bored though. I would prefer to do the jobs personally. I'm a bit of a sadist.
I'm 100% with Raito

If Death Note was real... I wouldn't know what to do with it... now, if Kira was real, I'd be scared to go aganist him... I'm not clever enough to be ahead of him. gonk
But... if I was clever enough and I did pay attention to every little person or thing that is tracking me down, I would kill off the terrorists, and the criminals that the government/court won't kill off (because the criminals have the dough to pay their bail...) they're still criminals.
Talk about a spilt personality and leading a double life... domokun sweatdrop

If the deathnote existed and I found it, I WOULD cleanse the world and reform it in the same way Light would. Comparing the deathnote to a gun is hardly fair at all, I mean when you shoot someone you have to physically be there pulling the trigger staring at them. When you have a death note you just write a name and create an image in your head and its done. Two very different methods of killing. Am I opposed to the death penalty? Sure. would I use the deathnote? Of course, because If I'm writing your name in there, I believe you should die. As someone said earlier power corrupts absolutely and your 100% right. We all fear death, but we love to produce it. Ironic.

I couldn't make up my mind about this for a long time. I know killing is wrong and what Raito is doing is really messed up but I can't help thinking how much better the world would be if there were no criminals.
Although if it were to really happen I wouldn't be able to be a Kira supporter. Raito's approach can never work because he is just causing more chaos.
I would never want to make the choice to use(or not) the Death Note. Having that kind of ultimate power over people's lives...
its a scary thought.

I think, at first, I would be a supporter of Kira. He's killing evil criminals that should be punished for the crimes they've commited. But as time went by and he started killing criminals that probably could have just been sent to prison or rehabilitated, I would begin to lose faith in Kira less and less. I think, by the time he started killing people that were too close to knowing his identity, I wouldn't be a supporter of him at all.
If I was Kira, I would kill only the most ruthless of criminals that haven't been caught by authorities for quite some time. Such as, if someone bombed a school full of children and the police haven't caught him in 2 years, I would kill the bomber.

If there were a Kira I'd probably support him in a way, for the fact that he's ridding the world of criminals thus making it a better environment, but I'm not the kind of person that idolises or 'worships' people and I'd just want his power for myself biggrin . I'd get annoyed with his massive fanbase and I'd probably get killed by him/her at some point.
If the Death Note happened to fall into my hands I would DEFINITELY use it - no doubt about it. Not exactly for the desire for a righteous world, but I mainly wouldn't be able to stop myself. Seriously, how could you let a chance like that pass you by...
