"Well, now you can rest o'er here," the young man said, helping his wife to the other bed. "I'll come snuggle wi' you when you want me."
Ziazan came back in with its shirt bottom pulled up, carrying some eggs in. It went over to the small stove, setting the eggs down in a bowl. After setting a skillet on the stove and getting the fire going within, Zia started cooking up the eggs.

"Mm, I don't need to lie down right now, Faolan," Ellandra said quietly, taking his hand and not letting go. "Please. . . let's just. . . . let's go to the front room, all right?"
Still on the floor by the table, Rhian flicked her antennae in her sleep but was otherwise still and quiet.

"Alreet, girl," Faolan said, smiling a bit, tiredness showing still in his eyes. "Let's see about some breakfast, eh?" He led Ellandra into the front room.
Zia looked up when they entered, grinning. "How do you two want your eggs?"

A rare, slightly impish smile spread across Ellandra's face as she stood close to Faolan - his tiredness didn't escape her in the least - as she said, "Preferably not raw or burnt, but I doubt there's any worry about that - and why is Rhian on the floor?" It was a valid question, after all, Rhian didn't sleep on the floor unless there was a Lauss-pillow there to relax upon.

"She's still sleepy from helping you so much," Zia said, glancing at the Proto before going back to cooking.
Faolan yawned and shuffled over to the couch, scooping Rhian up on the way. He flopped down, letting the Essentic sprawl on his chest and lap as he stretched his long legs out. "Think maybe she has the right idea."

"I . . . I really. . ." Ellandra paused and trailed off, ducking her head. "I really hurt. . . . everyone," she finally managed to say after a great deal of simply standing in silence.

"You ain't hurtin' anyone now," Faolan pointed out, motioning for Ellandra to come sit with him. "Stop frettin' an' come snuggle wi' me some, yeah?"

Ellandra nodded softly and stepped - or more waddled, really, it was so hard to walk normally when this pregnant! - over to the couch and sat down next to Faolan, snuggling up to him and stroking the sleeping Rhian's wings. "You're both so tired. . ." she said quietly, watching both her husband and her flutterby-child.

"We all are, love," Faolan yawned, resting an arm around Ellandra's shoulders. "But now we can all be tired together." He gave her an impish grin.

Ellandra snuggled closer to Faolan and sighed a little. "Still. . . this wouldn't have happened had I not been so . . . so. . ." she trailed off, but the flush of shame and the guilt in her expression gave away what she left unsaid easily enough.

"I'll try Faolan," Ellandra said, atching her husband through reddened eyes. "But you know me by now - it's not easy for me to stop worrying about things like this."

"I knows it well, but it ain't just you t' think on about bein' hurt wi' too much worryin' now, yeah? Got them bairns to think on an' stressin' o'er somethin' tha's done an' o'er ain't gonna do them no good," Faolan told her. "Donnae be worryin' no more, lass. You came home. Things can only get better from here on out."

Ellandra nodded and tried to relax a little, her gaze moving from Faolan to Ziazan at the stove, then to Rhian as she stroked a wing of the flutterby's once more. "I don't know what she's been doing all this time, but I've never seen her so very worn out before."

"She's been doin' what she wis made t'do," Faolan said, looking down at the small Essentic. "Doin' what I shoulda been doin'. Takin' care o' you an' th' babies." He looked at Ellandra sidelong. "When I first saw th' ribbon an' your necklace, I thought somethin' bad had happened. I saw th' note Elst left an' . . . me world just ended. Didnae start again till you came back. Pretty sure Keagan was ready t'find tha' old church again an' leave me on th' steps fae someone else t' be stuck wi' me sorry arse."
