Huni heard voices but recognized none, until she heard Kimi's.
"Freaky..." she murmured, approaching the fireplace where Kimi was.
Paestri clung to Huni in fright, the unfolding events unnerved her greatly. That and she didn't seem to recognize anyone in the room but Mayu, and even then Paestri didn't know her well.

Demian quickly hid behind Wren as the fire burst from within the room, watching as it left just as quickly as it came. He peered toward the fireplace, curious of the darkness within it that seemed almost endless.
Clare had chosen to hid under Lafe, claws scratched against the floor as he was stiff and very... puffy.
"W-w-what was that...???" he whispered, his heart beating so fast, it was a mystery that he didn't just faint.

Kimiko turned her head back out of the entrance and over to the corner, watching the . . . animal? sob. She tilted her head, and plopped down on the ground as if she was a small child, sitting cross-legged. Realizing Mayu was still strapped to her back, she unlatched the baby and placed her on the ground, as a precaution. She was rather forgetful, and might crash the baby into a wall or something, the poor thing.
Mayu sighed with relief as she was placed down, and rocked around on the floor while waiting for something else to happen.

[I don't think anyone is going too fast, just the way multi-person RP goes with no defined posting order. Great fun! XD I just hop back and edit when I miss someone's post <3
And yeah, I think I will. I have no objection to Hooters, personally, but aww...all the widdle kiddies! gonk
Also, what form is Lafe in at the moment?]
Levi listened carefully to see if his penny met any resistance, still a bit closer to Wren than he might have normally been. He wasn't scared, but two were better than one, and he trusted the shady gentleman.
Turning to glance back and make sure the young girls were okay, Levi suddenly found his gaze caught by a young babe that had just been settled on the floor. He'd never met Mayu, but she was certainly a dear little thing...as were the other two little lasses in the room. Offering her a brave smile, and waving his fingers to the other two, he stepped toward the fire boldly.
"Wanna see, eh? S'back there?" Nudging Wren, he pointed to the fire. "Gottah blanket?"

Lafe pressed close to Clare, as if to keep him safe from the sudden burst. His tail was flick back and forth in agitation before he made a small noise. It was all right ...
'... light,' It was a somewhat shy, quiet voice that spoke to Clare. As a fox, Lafe could communicate with other animals and Clare was, of course, an animal at this moment. '... something below, in the darkness.' Lafe could tell something was below, in the darkness that the fireplace hinted at.
'Okay?' Though that time it wasn't much of a question, but more of a feeling sent to the white feline.
Wren tilted his head towards Levi curiously, before shaking his head and moving towards the fire place as well. ( Though, actually, he paused for a moment to rub his hand soothingly down the feline's back, as an after thought. ) "No, I don't have a blanket. I should be able to go through without a problem though, but ... I'm ... made of sturdy stuff. I think, however, if you give me a second, I can put it out and we can go see what's down there?" An eyebrow was arched in curiousity. Obviously Levi was game for exploring and Lafe had dragged him along for some reason -- he might as well explore.

Huni wordlessly watched the young man approaching the fire, was he really going to do what she thinks he's going to do? She couldn't help but wonder.
Paestri coo'ed a little nervously at the fire, her icing pink eyes reflecting the flickering flames. There was something familiar to it, but maybe she was just scared?

Clare stopped shaking as he heard the voice, calming down a little bit. The voice didn't belong to Demian, and no one else around the room sounded like that. His blue eyes peered upward toward the fox over him, his tail flicking a little bit. Was that... Lafe?
"Something below?" he whispered, looking toward the black cat across the room for a moment. Demian was leaning forward in his sitting position, gold eyes fixated on the fireplace. Something seemed amiss. "Is it scary?"
The little white kitten crawled out from under Lafe, his eyes looking around the room once more. Who else was here, anyway? He didn't recognize anyone save for Wren and Levi.

Raising a brow, Levi nodded at Wren's suggestion...rubbing his hands together eagerly. He was willing to jump through unaided if it came down to it, but less fire was always a good thing.
"Hokay! Out!" Waving his hand as though it would magically extinguish the flames, Levi turned slightly to grin over one shoulder at the cute bebehs.

(( Uh, it works for me -- but I'm usually free as of ... right now.
(( XD And, sure, I can take Levi along as a NPC -- just, um, give me a brief crash course on what Levi would and would not do in certain situations, Aki? ))
Lafe's tail brushed against Clare and he gave as much of a shrug as he could as a fox. 'Could be.' There was a brief pause as Lafe took a few steps forward before looking around the room. He focused on each person he could see before returning his attention back to Clare.
'... you'll be safe,' he added, silver-blue eyes glinting in the low fire light. 'Can tell ; feel it.' As if that explained it all. Lafe moved back and went to give Clare a nudge with his nose to move him forward.
A suspiciously brightly colored thing caught his attention briefly and he stared at it for a moment, wondering just what it was doing in a place like this. ... and why he wasn't playing with it.
"Cute, but I don't think that'll work, boy-o." Wren chuckled at Levi's dramatics, particularly in the way they were likely to extinguish the flames.
"Now, let's see ..." Since Levi had all ready done the hand waving, Wren went another route. Carefully, he used his finger to trace a rune in the air. It wavered in the air, a dark blue, before it suddenly seemed to bright. There was a sudden chill in the air near the fire place. The air seemed heavy with water and it was like a small rain storm had gathered over the fire place. It quickly doused what hadn't gone out earlier.
"There we go! Now we can go down." He grinned at Levi. "Us first though," he said in a whisper just so Levi could hear, "to make sure the others don't get hurt, eh?"
