( grown up Buka is so handsome!!! ) ( And that picture is so adorable! Can I steal it for my journal? :3 )
Pacha barked and shook his tail feathers furiously. "I wouldn't mind meeting god of the frogs." Moisture dripped off the walls of the cave, forming little puddles on the rocks around them. Thin shimmers of light reflected off the streams of cave water. Pacha squinted at the run off and started sniffing the air for a way further into the cave. Water droplet echos bounced towards the Kuniku. "Maybe we can figure out where the ground drops and rises based on the sound of the water droplets." Pacha pawed the next ledge leading away from the mouth of the cave. A drop of water landed about a dozen inches above Pacha, another one behind that ledge sounded like it landed further down. One droplet landed square between Pacha's eyebrows. "Ewhhh" Pacha whined.

(why thankya! 8D and of course lol > w< <3)
Buka giggled at Pacha's face when the cold water dripped onto his forehead. "We could try that I guess." He said, trying to listen intently to the drops of water. It still looked pitch black further down, he wasn't sure if his hearing was good enough to save him from falling down a hole or walking into a wall. "If only we had a lantern or something." He'd seen the humans walking down the streets carrying paper lanterns at night on occasion, and one would be quite useful right now. He wasn't sure if he'd even be big enough to carry one though. He began to pick his way carefully down the incline, small rocks occasionally tumbling down when his paws touched them. It steadily grew darker, and he started to have that tight feeling of fear in his stomach again. He tried to picture the god of frogs being somewhere ahead, which was a much nicer thought than a demon.

(just a heads up... I have no idea where I may/maynot be going with this.) xD
A shallow whine filled the cave. Pacha perked his ears forward. "Buka?" He squeaked. Pacha flattened his ears and dropped his tail. A drop of water fell near him, and Pacha scooted against the cave wall, where he thought he heard it fall. "I wish we had a lantern too." He tried to find the face of his friend in the thick darkness. This was much scarier than any forest Pacha had gotten lost in. He leaned forward and pawed the wall, slowly creeping down it. He dropped his left paw further down, trying to feel for a solid surface. He kept his right paw tense, pushed against the wall near his face to keep him balanced. "Nuugh" He stuck out his tongue and scrunched his face in frustration. "I can't find the next ledge." He complained and peeked behind him. The circle of light that was the cave entrance was getting further and further away. "Do you think this is a dead end?" He asked Buka. "Or will it let out, umhn, like, at another part of the mountain?" He whined and pawed at the air.

(they could find a different exit from the cave? O: maybe one leading up and they end up at the top of the cliff or something... on the way they could maybe find an animal that fell down the other exit and got stuck and help pull it out? lol that could be the whine xD i dunno really)
Buka stuck close to Pacha, wing to wing. He'd heard a strange noise and now he was far more frightened than before, and he hoped that Pacha couldn't feel his legs quivering. "I dunno, I-I've never been this far..." He whispered, scared something would hear him if he spoke too loud. He reached his paw out in the direction he thought Pacha was heading in, and gave a frightened squeak when all there was beneath it was air. "Maybe it's just a short fall?" He asked, trying to think of a way to test it that wouldn't end with broken bones. He could always fly down, but he couldn't see a thing and was too worried he'd fly right into a wall. Was this crevice a massive pit full of monsters all the way at the bottom? Or a tiny ditch as tall as he was? "We could kick a stone down, and listen for how long it takes to hit the bottom." He said, suddenly amazing himself with his own brilliance. He felt around in the dark for a stone.

(I like both those ideas!)
The rings under his eyes were starting to get a little deep. "Oh-h-kaay." He stuttered and licked his lips. "Mmnuh." He whined. The stress was getting to him, good thing brave lil Buka was with him. Pacha fluttered his wings, nervously chattering and re-situating his wing feathers. The gust from his jittering knocked up pollen hidden under Pacha's layers of puppy fur. His allergies took over, and Pacha sneezed himself right of the edge him and Buka were teter totting over. "Whuaah!" He shouted.

Buka felt Pacha sneeze violently, and then he was gone from his side. He froze. Did Pacha just fall over the edge?? What should he do?? He was torn between his friend and his fear. "P-pacha!" he called, taking an uncertain step forward. He took a deep breath. He couldn't let his friend go down there alone, what if there were monsters? He had to be a brave adventurer like he always pretended he was. "I'm coming!" He shouted, and leapt off the edge, spreading his wings out to catch the stagnant air. How deep was it? Was he going to fly right into something? He started to descend, hoping he was heading the same way Pacha had fallen.

All of a sudden, Buka plopped down next to Pacha. His ears perked when he heard the thud, then a small splash rolled over Pacha's head. It had been a straight drop of about 7 feet into shallow water. Pacha stood up, at this level of the cave he was about ankle deep in water. Pacha couldn't hear and water flowing in or out of this room of the cave, just the occasional droplets falling from the ceiling. He picked his paw up and could see little glimmers of light slip off his fur and fall back into the puddle. Pacha raised his chin and looked around. The wall of the ledge they had just fallen down was right behind them. Now the two were deeper into the cave, but it seemed almost, lighter. Something was reflecting on the surface of the puddle. Pacha snuck a step forward. He tried stick his neck out as far into the cave as possible. If he moved his feet, he could drop down an unseen cliff that could be hidden under the water. Pacha stretched and peered up. It appeared that the cave was "V" shaped. The was a little source of light several feet above them.

Buka made an unhappy squeak as he landed in the water, his first thought was that he'd landed in the slobbery mouth of some huge demon. He quickly regained his composure once he realised it was just regular old cave water, he had to be brave for his friend after all. He made out the shape of Pacha looking over to the side of the cave. Then he realised he could see Pacha, if only a little. He hadn't been able to see anything back up on the ledge. He scrambled to his feet, splashing water about. His fur was soaked and matted where he'd gotten it wet, and he could feel his feathers clinging together with moisture. He'd definitely need a bath after this. "Do you think that's a way out?" He asked Pacha, sploshing over toward him. His eyes were slowly adjusting now, and he could make out what looked like a rocky upward tunnel ahead of them. He plucked up his courage and hopped from the water onto a rock, leaning closer to the tunnel and sniffing the air. It smelt slightly fresher than the air had before. Pacha had taken the first bold (if accidental) steps down the terrifying ledge, and Buka couldn't let him hog all the limelight, so he hopped down from his stone and into the tunnel. "Let's check it out!" He said to Pacha enthusiastically. The cave was a lot less scary now he had survived the drop and could see more.

The cave wasn't very wide or high, but Pacha was scared of what might be in the water with him. He mistook a water droplet falling into the puddle as air bubbles from either a demon or a frog, and jumped. His neck fur stood on end and Pacha shot out of the water. He tried to jump straight from the cave floor to the tunnel and smacked his chest against the cave wall below where the tunnel entrance. "Oof!" He winced and pawed frantically at the tunnel, ungracefully pulling himself up behind Buka. He teetered away from the edge, squishing himself into Buka, very much invading his personal space. "Nnuuh, ya, ya, lets go!" He whined and snugged closer into Buka. Pacha looked over his shoulder at the reflective puddle. A little "blop" rose up from the depths of a cave water. Pacha's eyes got really, really really wide, because he was staring, face to face, at... a frog. "AAAHAHHH! BUKA, BUKA! THE FROG GOD IS GOING TO GET US, WE'RE IN HIS CAVE, WE'RE IN HIS CAVE!" He shouted.

(LOL)
Buka had been brave, but the screams of his friend were just a little too much. The frog god had caught them trespassing in his cave!! What did gods do to Kuniku that trespassed? Buka had no idea, but he guessed it would be bad. He whirled around and shouted "RUUUN!!" at his friend, before sprinting off up the tunnel as fast as his paws could take him, screaming. It was quite the upward climb and a tight squeeze, but fear had given him speed and he wiggled and squashed and clambered his way through the dirt, roots hitting him in the face and clumps of dirt falling away at his feet. He hoped Pacha was right behind him, but shamefully he was far too scared to look. Was there a huge slimy frog tongue coming up the tunnel to grab him and drag him into some kind of frog-hell?? Luckily enough for Buka, the tunnel finally ended and he find himself pulling his way out onto grass and into sunlight. He nearly kept sprinting off right into the trees, but he caught himself and turned back, "Pacha!" he called, checking to see if his friend had also made it out.

A voice came from the tree top above Buka. "Ya-yaah?" Pacha's stutter was back. "D-id you se-ee anyth-th-ing?" They had been struttin' around that cave for quite some time. The sun was nearly setting. Pacha could see the ocean from his tree branch. The sun's glare was reflecting off of it in an array of colors and it warmed his skin up right away. He felt brace enough to climb down next to his spotted friend. "I guess we didn't find any treasure." Pacha looked at his feet, he was pretty bummed out. "It is a nice view though! They were up pretty high, Pacha hadn't felt like that tunnel was that large of a slope, but they were well above the trees growing in the valley below them. Pacha tip toed closer to the edge and peered down. "Ohh..." Pacha sucked his cheeks in and scooted back towards his tree. He looked like he might be sick. "That's high."
