Amaya shook her head. "I'll probably find out who in the next few nights. She's making me learn to trust her, so she's giving me facts broken up into bits so I have to just do what she says." The princess told her with a sigh.

Gwen nodded, hiding a smile. "That doesn't sound familiar at all." she said, her tone not quite innocent. She was refering to when they were children and Amaya would make up a game, and neglect to tell Gwen all the details. Not that Gwen hadn't repaid the favor, of course.

Kai smiled slightly, looking to the librarian. "He won't bother anything. Not unless he gets chased, at any rate." she said with a sweet smile, glancing to the ferret to make sure it understood her.

Ri nodded. "The assistant. But he won't tell. Well, Kai doesn't think he will." she replied, twisting and flying to Kai's side, landing lightly on her shoulder. She reacted much as a cat would when Kai's hand absently stroked the dragon's neck, arching her back and rubbing lightly against the hand. She then quickly went around Kai's shoulders to dive into the skin of her arm, dissapearing. The tattoo grew brighter and less dull and blurred, showing that the dragon was no longer outside and that Ri was resting for the moment.

Kai looked to Dais once Ri had returned, as though it were perfectly normal for a dragon to meld with her body and dissapear. "May I take this with me?" she asked, holding the spell book out.

"Oh you'll live." Amaya laughed as she looked over at Gwen. "At least you aren't training all day then all night. You at least get to sleep." She sighed, slinging her sword over her shoulder.

Gwen gave her friend a dry glance. "That's what I did as an apprentice then again this last year." she pointed out. "But if you want help somehow just say and I'll spar or do whatever you need." she added, pausing. Something wasn't right... "Will Tuin let you ride?" she asked quietly, not appearing it but completely alert, one hand lingering near her quiver. It was a familiar presence, but she didn't know what it was yet. Either way, she wanted to be away from here.

Vadasz would have sighed if he could have, simply nodding as he listened in on what was going on with Leena. Ugh. Politics. More trouble than it's worth.

Leena saw what Vadasz's reaction was, nodding in understanding. Even if it seemed like such small motions, she could understand what he was saying. Same thing if he screeched which he thankfully didn't while in the library at least. Stiffening, she heard a crying in her ears, glancing around before she straightened a bit and followed after it. She found a small crying girl in the corner that was hidden by the edges of two bookshelves. So it made it more like a niche than a corner. "Hey, whats-" And then she noticed that the girl was a ghost. Or more felt it really. Glancing back to where the three of the others stood, she bit her lower lip beneath her mask, singing a soft tune as her hands reached out to to the young girl, actually touching her. The words were old and few had ever heard them, in truth a spell to allow her to carry the childs spirit. At least until she could release it like she did many others. "Don't worry, you'll find them soon." She said quietly to the dark corner, the childs spirit held now in another small vial she had produced from her belt.

Standing, she glanced around, noticing how there had been one person who saw the whole thing. "Te saha ei ensinkään!" She spoke with a force behind her words, wiping the memory from the mans mind quickly before she stepped out from between the shelves, her long, silvery white hair falling in front of half of her face. Good, no one else had seen. At least from what she could tell. Hopefully that spell would hold for a while, since it was more like holding that man's one memory in a bubble so it couldn't be accessed. She folded her arms over her chest, leaning against the wall by the door, obviously a bit thoughtful.

"He will, but why?" She asked looking to Gwen with a questioning eye.

Aldon twitched his whiskers in response to Kai's words. The ferret was a bit of rascal sometimes, but never enough to destroy the library.

If Dais was surprised by the dragon melting into Kai's arm, he didn't show it. He simply nodded at Kai's inquiry of the spell book and then nodded toward the elder librarian.

The librarian was still a little sore over the fact that animals had infiltrated the library. If a few were allowed, then the whole town would be bringing in animals at this rate. He directed Kai to a desk and completed the check out procedure for the book.

Dais, however, did notice the crying noise, and see Leena head away behind the bookshelves. People were just popping up all over the place today, and Aldon had just crawled onto his head.

Leena could tell that the librarian was sore, whispering something to Vadasz before he flew out through an open window, giving a screech before he left which made her sigh. "Always the trouble maker aren't you..." She whispered under her breath, feeling the pulse against her belt from the childs spirit. It was crying again which made her sigh. Holding it close to her face, she whispered some words of comfort to the girl, her eyes turning to the window to judge the time of day. "Just a little while longer. Night is always the best time." She mumbled under her breath, glancing from Kai to the assistant before lowering her eyes once more, the vial vanishing into her robes.

Humming a tune to herself, she made sure to keep it soft, turning to go since it was getting towards lunch time and she did require food. "Kai, did you want to head out for food after this?" She asked, her eyes noticing the movement of the ferret, but their liquid brown gaze fell to her friend shortly. The spells she used for her disguise would wear off soon anyways, and she should probably attend to her duties as she should since the council had a way of choosing things she did not approve of.

They were a strange pair this one, dancing down the street. Well, the younger boy was dancing, the girl was more or less being led with grudging humor as they passed people by.

The boy was strikingly beautiful, with crystal white hair and large round blue eyes. He skipped in a peculiar pattern to no obvious tune, his movements so fluid and easy that they were rather like a dance. He flowed through the town, one hand always holding onto the elder looking girl, leading her from place to place, stopping at stalls and setting smiles to the vendor's faces as he moved.

"Ariana!" He called from one stall, his voice light and ringing, easy like music. "Ariana! Look! Look at the horse!" He was pointing and his blue eyes flashed with sudden intensity as he looked up to the girl.

Her long midnight black hair swayed as she swept her blue grey eyes up to where he pointed. Not only was there a horse, but a dragon and two young ladies. She knew from the way he looked at her, that hunger, that these people had drawn him here. She tightened her grip a fraction on the young boy's hand.

"I see them Kyaka."
And she wished more than anything that he were not so drawn to these events. She did not care for the strange people they met with, and she hated even less the injury he did himself when he got involved... but she was with him for life, and though she worried for him, she would never leave him.

"Shall we go closer to meet the horse?" She asked. For most this would involve a very brief 'hello' in a very human manner. For Kyaka it was a lot more involved.

He nodded vigorously and dragged her that way, eyes locked on the group.

He knew that behind him Ariana was withdrawing. She was no where near as social as he, and the faint smile had long since vanished behind a cold mask of eternal dissatisfaction. Her hand would be resting on the hilt of her saber, the other still held firmly in his own.

He dragged her forward, and before they got close enough for the others to really notice, he called out a greeting. Two actually.

"Hello young ones!" He called this out first in the language of horses, a brief and high spirited whinny that one would never expect of a human, let alone a small boy. And then he called out again the same greeting in the language of the dragons, a rumbling growl that, from him, spoke of strength and the earth.

((um, Amaya, Tuin, and Gwen are in the forest...))

Gwen tilted her head towards Tyri as the mare snorted, tossing her head. The mare knew people were coming as well. Gwen set an arrow to her bow, still on full guard. "Because I'd be more comfortable if we didn't stay here much longer." she murmured, gray eyes scanning for any sign of movement. "I'll follow you, just get moving please." she added quietly.

Kai gave Dais a bright smile. "Thank you." she said sweetly, spinning around and half-skipping to Leena's side. The book was no longer in her hands, Gods only knew where it had gone. Possibly to her room, or it was very possible Dais would find it later. Either way, she would learn the spells from it she liked and leave the others alone. No need to fill her memory with pointless things. She had to have room for her catalogue of every plant and flower known to man, after all. That and the rock collection...

Talia was the first to appear from the escort, mainly to do the speaking, bowing to Amaya, Tuin, and Gwen. "I am Talia, Princess Leena's second in command. Should something happen and someone attack, she sent an escort for you." She spoke as she straightened slowly, her unique eyepatch rather striking as her remaining eye was piercing. The three men appeared in a triangular formation around Amaya and Gwen, seeming to rise from no where. "I hope we have not left a bad impression. She merely wishes to ensure your safety." She spoke, the three men vanishing again, deciding not to talk about the spirit that was also with them since she wasn't sure if either could see it. And more likely than not, it was just a better idea not to say.

Leena gave Kai a brief smile, nodding to the Librarian and the assistant as she turned to go, closing the door softly. "Anything in particular you crave? Or shall I pick what we eat?" She asked, heading back to her home; the Palace. She didn't seem bothered by the lack of book, growing more focused on other things.

Gwen visibly relaxed, replacing the arrow in her quiver. She dipped her head slightly towards Talia, the faint smile appearing and fading again. She remembered her, though she'd only met her a handful of times. Just a few less than Leena, for that matter.

"Not really. Nothing you can get. People seem to look at you strangely when you ask for normal things like nectar or Pora leaves..." Kai said, shrugging. "So you can pick." she added, following her friend.

"It is good to see you Gwen. I hope you enjoy your stay more than last time." Talia bowed again before she slipped away in a ball of light, leaving the pair as they were along with their "invisible" guard.

Leena raised an eyebrow, "Oh come now. You know I can get those things. But if you are sure." She murmured, adjusting her mask more since she wasn't wearing her cloak with it's hood to help hide her face. "Something simple sounds good for today." She thought aloud, humming as they made their way to her home. It didn't take too long really, arriving and she was greeted with fresh reports that required her attention. "I'll look at them later for heavens sake!" She snapped as her disguise melted away. Her silvery white hair grew to a more fresh, powdery snow color and shortened. There was a flash of light and she was suddenly out of her ranger clothes and into the things she wore in the palace.

Walking with her friend towards the dining hall, Leena gave a stretch, her feet quiet against the carpet. "Are you sure you don't want any nectar and Pora leaves and such? True, we don't have much of it, but there is some I know for a fact." She asked, light flooding in front the windows that lined the one wall to their right as they walked in.

Dais simply nodded to Leena and Kai leaving, finally being able to nod Aldon off his head, who made a complaining noise. One of the two was definitely hiding something, and Dais, from being around Mereth, had his suspicions. The people around the hooded lady made it suspicious.

The dark haired assistant sighed and nudged the ferret off into the stacks. The elderly librarian was watching every second of his actions. For one that had worked so long, the librarian was still very alert for his age. Dais laughed inside his mind. Maybe if the librarian was younger, the man could be a great spy if he could withhold his emotions.

As he was putting in the last book in the cart, Dais noticed a strange shadow edge in the walls toward the library entrance. For a moment it disappearred from the sunlight coming in, but Dais soon saw it merge with a other shadows outside. It looked like it was following the people that had just visited.

... was it coincidence that this shadow was in the library? Had they found him? Though if they had, why was the shadow slinking after the duo? Before he could think of a logical answer, he heard the librarian shriek. The bookshelf he was at was falling.... somehow. Something is wrong. He dove out of the way, and pushed the librarian out of the falling structures.

..unfortunately, the shelves to the front of the book shelf were also knocked over due to a domino effect. The librarian was not going to be happy, and Dais was not going to get his lunch break.

Gwen smiled faintly, glancing to Amaya. "Remind me to explain that to you when we stop for the night." she said, not particularly wanting to go into it now. Not when she needed her focus elsewhere.

Kai laughed, shaking her head. "But then they won't be special when I can get them elsewhere." she said, as though it were the simplest thing in the world. "Hmm. Are you going to follow the elf and your mother's pet? Talia can work here, and you need the fun. And what's better than sleeping outside and hunting down caves and water and trying not to get killed?" she asked. Many would think she was being sarcastic, but she was perfectly serious. Well, as serious as she ever was.
