User Image Sam laughed in her ear as she said it was more fun to watch him squirm. She moved her hand down to his wrist. And with his words earned him a nice little scratch. He frowned. Her nails were really damn sharp. He didn't get the chance to make a remark about it, since she moved his hand.

Sam gasped. Whatever he had been expecting, it had been this normal. He smiled that charming smile of his. All ideas of the dog forgot as he stared where his hand was. He couldn't see the Thestral, but it was there. "Just like a normal horse..." He whispered. He moved closer to the animal, raising his second hand next to the first one. He ran it along the underside of the thestral's chin and neck. He gave the horse like creature a pat on the neck and scratched its nose lightly.

Angelica glared at the back of Sam's head when he asked to jinx the dog. Even though Morgan had already told him no, Angelica also spoke, not knowing he had been referring to something else. "If you jinx that animal, then you'll be next," she said, poking him in the back with her wand. She knew this was a step too far, and she hoped he wouldn't turn on her. Fortunately, Morgan had just pulled his hand toward the thestral. She placed if gently on the creature's nose. It exhaled rather loudly, but didn't react in any other way. Angelica took two timid steps forward. Ever since she had seen her great-grandfather pass away, and she was able to see these animals whenever she came to school, she had been uncomfortable. She reached out a hand anyway, and patted the larger thestral's neck softly. It shook its head, but did nothing to indicate it didn't want her hand on itself.

As Sam said it was just like a normal horse, Angelica nodded. "Softer, I think," she said in response to him. She watched as he trailed his hands over the creature's neck, almost enjoying herself in this clearing.

Evan wandered into the Forbidden Forest, glancing ahead of him with an intent gaze, as if searching for something. Overhead, the trees cast wonderful shadows on the ground on which he was walking, allowing almost no sunlight to peek through their branches, something for which he was grateful. Everything was entirely too bright to the young man right now, you see. As his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he wondered if he would be able to find a centaur, or, perhaps, a unicorn. Maybe even a thestral. He'd always had a soft spot for animals, and he did wonder if he ever could have a bit of a chat with a centaur. He'd always wondered about the intricacies of a herd of centaurs. Perhaps after school he could go study them, or something. He was good enough with animals in CMC to manage, he thought. However, he was mildly startled from his musings when he heard two voices ahead of him. He was also mildly offended, on behalf of the animal in question, of course, and about to tell off the boy for even kidding about such a horrid thing, when another voice beat him to it.

Blinking, he took in her appearance. 'Well, she's female. But she wants to jinx him for jinxing that thestral. So she can't be all bad. Maybe I can just slip out of here quietly and go talk to the Giant Squid again....' He made a bit of a face and turned around to go. Unfortunately for him, however, he wasn't particularly watching where he was going. As such, he hit his head on a tree branch, effectively drawing a rather large, rather painful-sounding snap from thin air. Blinking again in the after math of his own personal miniature chaos, he noted that he'd broken the branch off, and that it was good-sized. His head was apparently very hard.

User Image (( @Ikamaru -- technically our little group is still in the night... just letting you know ^.^ btw I'm assuming Evan fell or something since he hit his head... sorry if that's wrong... I'll change it if is... ))

Sam glared at Angelica when she poked him in the back with her wand. The glare was none too nice and held a threat that words couldn't describe. It was like the old Sam was gone for the moment. "First off... Poke me with the wand again, and I'll snap it... I don't take kindly to weapons being pointed at me... And mind, that is a weapon..." He told her. Then he looked back to his hand where it touched the thestral. He glanced towards the dog that was trying to pick something up off the ground. "Besides... I was talking about that damn dog... Not the thestral... I can't see them, remember? I would be a fool to fire a jinx blindly..." He looked back to Angelica, still glaring.

Sam's glare faded away as Angelica patted the thestral. It shook it's head. He knew because his hand moved on it's nose. He smiled at the creature that he could not see. Angelica's tone had changed. He nodded. If she could be civil, so would he. He didn't want to fight again tonight. His fingers moved along the thestral's neck. He wished to see them, but he had no desire to see someone die to make it happen. Poor creatures to be associated with death. They weren't all that bad.

Then something snapped. Considering this was the Forbidden Forest, Sam went for his wand. He pulled both hands away from the thestral and instantly lost where it was. Without touch they were only the wind to him. He moved closer to Morgan once more. He was unsure why he went to her side, but it had just been a reaction. His fingers of his free hand brushed her back. He had been going to wrap his arm around her, but decided against it at the last moment. He didn't want to get punched if something big and bad was going to appear.

Sam moved closer to the sound by himself. His wand was still lit even though it had been in his pocket. He moved the light over what had fell and let out his breath in an almost growl. He kicked Evan's foot. "Dammit! It's just Evan!" He called back to all three girls. He could even see the younger Slytherin girl better now. He still couldn't remember her name. Shame on him. He looked back down to Evan. "Get the hell up..." He started to kick Evan again, then just shook his head. He went back to stand near Morgan.

Returning Sam's glare with even more venom, if that was possible, Angelica hissed, ""I know what you were talking about." Not wanting to get into another fight, she continued to pat the thestral softly until a loud snapping noise made her retract her hand quickly. She turned her head toward the sound of the noise so fast her hair whipped across her face. Removing her wand from its place pointing at Sam's back, she pointed it toward where she thought she heard the noise from. The beam of light from the end illuminated nothing.

Angelica almost told Sam no when he began to move toward the sound, but she knew he would hardly listen to her. She watched as he took small steps forward and kicked something. "Dammit! It's just Evan!" Angelica heard him call. Sighing in relief, she walked over and passed Sam as he returned to Morgan's side. "Alright, Evan?" she asked, holding out a hand to help him up.

Morgan smiled as Sam smiled. Not necessarily because he was enjoying himself, but because one more person had seen the good in Thestrals. The poor beasts had such a terrible reputation. She could understand why, of course, but she wasn't pleased with it. After the Thestral shook itself in response to Angelica's touch, Morgan pressed her cheek against the bony one of the animal. She missed the few Thestrals that the Dalca's kept on their estate. Preferring them to normal horses, they were often doted upon by the redhead. Then the moment was ruined by Sam and Angelica bickering. "Play nice..." she muttered under her breath. She wasn't about to get involved in their squabble. It seemed to get resolved rather quickly on its own.

A sudden ruckus in the trees had Morgan whipping her head in the direction the sound had come from. And just as quickly, Sam was stepping closer to her, then off to fight whatever lurked in the darkness. How odd. It seemed as though he was trying to protect her. 'As if I need protection.' The danger passed quickly as Sam discovered Evan. Morgan shook her head. "It seems you were right, Angelica. The Thestrals have gained popularity." Evan was no interest to her at the moment. As Sam came to stand next to her again, she knelt back down to give her attention to the smaller Thestral. The young colt seemed rather interested in the newly arrived Slytherin boy.

Well. At least they noticed her. It was better than nothing, really. She nodded her head once at the first girl to notice her, and put on quite possibly the fakest smile she could and wiggled a few of her fingers in their direction. May as well try to be pleasant, despite how much it made her want to puke. Crossing her legs at the ankles, she was leaning fully against the tree now, arms crossed. Although she had originally gone into the forest to see the Threstals, the thought was completely wiped from her mind now, seeing as the other three Slytherins had gotten there first.

Then the boy had looked towards her, and she ended up raising an eyebrow, though she was positive he couldn't see the gesture. Couldn't quite remember his name. Couldn't remember any of their names. None of them must have been all that important, she figured. The redhead, however, she recognized from the Quidditch team. The other beater. Tapping her index finger against her chin, she tried to recall the name, positive it started with an 'M'. It took her a few moments before she gave up, and paid more attention to the squabble that seemed to be happening between the male and the black haired girl. Maybe, if she were lucky, they'd start actually fighting. The matter seemed to resolve itself, however, and they continued petting the Threstals. Nothing interesting, and she couldn't help but suppress a yawn. People watching was never interesting when the people weren't all that interesting.

As the sound of a large snapping noise sounded through the air, she jumped a bit, then smirked, watching as the male drew his wand and walked over to the source of the noise. In the hopes that something fairly interesting would happen, she took a few steps forward away from her perch next to the tree, tilting her chin up to try to peer over the bushes. Then whatshisname called out something, sounding a bit disappointed. Hell, she was a bit disappointed herself.

User Image Sam rolled his eyes as Angelica went to help up Evan. "Really... Angelica let him get up on his own... He's the dumbass that ran into the tree... Probably broke it..." Sam taunted the words. He loved taking the opportunity to prove he was better. Sam was quite sure he would have never ran into something. Especially not out here. In the Forbidden Forest, running into something might get you killed. Which made him wonder since Evan hadn't responded yet. He looked back to where the thestrals were. "Don't worry about him too much... He isn't dead..." Sam called. He knew this only because he still could see the thestrals.

Sam looked down at Morgan. She was on her knees beside him. He grinned wildly. He bent to whisper in her ear. "I didn't know you'd get on your knees for me, Morgan..." His voice held a light laugh to it. Of course, he had no idea she was petting the baby. He was just seeing what he wanted to see. He moved an inch away. Morgan had already hurt him badly tonight. He wanted to keep walking. He glanced back to the younger Slytherin. He really should have known her name. He winked her her. Between the wand light in his hand and the moon light above them, there was a good chance she could.

User Image Aaron finally got it! Both pieces of his wand were in his mouth. He would have grinned if dogs could grin. He wanted to howl his victory but that would only mean dropping the wand again. He watched the other students carefully as he followed the shadows around the edge of the clearing. He needed to get back to his clothes. He was out. He was running through the forest again. Back to the edge where he left his clothes. He didn't even look back.

Aaron changed back to human as he was still running. He fell on his face in the leaves. He was sure he'd scratched his cheek on something. He got to his feet quickly, pulling his broken wand from his mouth. He sighed looking at it. He held it as he pulled on his boxers and pants. Then he shoved the broken wand in his pocket. He pulled on his shirt just as quickly and took off back to the school. He didn't need to be caught out here. He didn't stop running until he was within the walls of Hogwarts and moving through the halls.

Angelica glanced down at Evan, who had yet to take her hand. Perhaps he enjoyed lying on the dead leaves in the dark of the forest. Taking a step to the side, she remained close to him, in case he decided he wanted a hand. Nodding to Morgan's agreeing with her about the thestrals, she said, "I wonder why." She watched as Morgan knelt down and began to focus her attention on the smaller thestral. She supposed the smaller one was a bit more bearable than the larger one. Still a bit uneasy around the creatures, Angelica looked around the clearing again and saw the other girl still standing where she had been before, her face still mostly in shadow. She was smirking, though, Angelica could just see the curve of her lips in the moonlight.

Wondering what was amusing her, Angelica glanced down at Evan once more before Sam admonished her. "Just because you only care about yourself doesn't mean we all do," Angelica said. Normally she would have agreed with him, but at this point doing anything to the contrary of what Sam thought she should do would give her no greater pleasure. He spoke again, and Angelica was about to retort when he leaned over to Morgan, seemingly whispering in her ear. Angelica couldn't hear him, but judging by the fact that he whispered, she assumed it must have been something inappropriate. Smirking a bit herself as she thought about what Morgan would do if he was something that didn't please her, Angelica watched, her eyes fixed on the two of them. She hardly noticed when the dog in the clearing took of running through the trees.

"I do not know." was the response given to Angelica's query, accompanied by a small shrug. Out of the corner of her eye, Morgan saw the other Slytherin girl shift against the tree, but she made no attempt to interact. If she wanted to stand there and stare, she was welcomed to it. It wasn't particularly surprising when another burst of sarcastic remarks were exchanged between Angelica and Sam. That sort of conversation seemed to be slowly becoming the norm for the two. But then Sam's attention was diverted again.

Morgan failed to see the small amount of humor Sam meant behind his comment. Even though he had inched away from her, he was still in striking range. With one hand still petting the small Thestral, Morgan used the other to aim a punch at the back of Sam's nearest calve. She hoped to give him a Charlie Horse or dead-leg for his rudeness. "You think too highly of yourself, Sam." Standing back up, the redhead glared at him. Sam needed to learn where the line was and how not to cross it. She crossed her arms under her chest and shook her head at the boy.

User Image Sam glanced over at Angelica and gave a slight "whatever" face to her comment. She really could do what she wanted. It was just dumb to help someone who had fallen on their face. You have to pick yourself up. He knew that. He knew better than to help others. You had to be strong to make it. If you spent your whole life helping others, you were bound to fail. His mother showed him that. At least, that was how he saw it. He pushed the thoughts away.

Well, more of they were forced away. Morgan slammed her fist in Sam's leg. Sam flinched and clenched his teeth together. He dropped to a knee and held his leg. He worked on the muscle until it loosened. He let out the breath he'd been holding. He stood slowly to met Morgan's glare. "I don't think so... And really? Do you think that lowly of me... I don't think so..." He spoke to her, but his voice carried to the others. At least he hadn't mention the kiss. Point for him.

Sam watched her fold her arms under her breasts. It only pushed them up more. He forced his eyes from her chest to her face. He grinned at her. He wondered what he had to do to get to her. It was odd for him to focus on one girl when there were three lovely ladies in the area. He knew it was odd. And yet, he didn't want to change it. He told himself he would break one at a time.

Hah. Who was on their knees now? Morgan didn't hide a smirk as Sam dropped. It was replaced by pursed lips and a newly strengthened glare once the boy opened his mouth. Surprisingly, there was no mention of their previous moment. Good; he was learning. Perhaps if they were alone, Morgan wouldn't be terribly opposed to having him bring it up, but in the present company, it was most certainly a taboo subject. She hoped the others wouldn't imply anything from the way he spoke.

"You often have me thinking better of you, but just as often you ruin it." She shrugged and began braiding the mane of the larger Thestral. It shook its whole body once, even stretching its wings, before settling. The air pushed from its wings played with the loose strands of Morgans hair. She slowly worked her way down the animals neck, adding more braids. With her hands busy, her mind was free to wander and ponder over Sam's intentions.

User Image Sam smiled at Morgan. He kept his distance, but he lowered his voice. "I'll have to try and stop ruining it in that case..." He whispered the words, catching her eyes. Then she turned away from him. The wind shifted around them. Sam jumped a little. "What the bloody hell?" He grumbled. Blind to the creatures, he was a little on edge when things moved around him. He glanced back over to the other Slytherins. He wanted to tell Angelica to leave the fool again, but knew she would just blow him off. As for the new girl, he wanted to remember her name, but didn't want to move either. He really wanted to know why he wanted Morgan so much. He didn't think it was all due to that kiss.

Well. This was a rather boring lot.

Stifling a yawn, she left her perch near the tree, intent on going over to bug the dog a little bit more. She was sorely disappointed when it shot off with the broken wand in its mouth. At least she'd know what to look for the next day. A tired kid with a broken wand? Easy enough, seeing as most students didn't break their wands right after starting the school year. Her hand went back to her mouth as she covered up another yawn, hearing two of the older Slytherins bickering. Nothing interesting enough to report, just the usual squabble.

Then the male leaned down to the redhead, obviously saying something that offended her enough to cause her to punch him in the leg. He dropped rather quickly, and a smirk appeared on her face. Weaker sex my a**. However, he managed to get back up and was looking at the redhead, although it wasn't at her face, but considerably...lower. She did not, however, seem to notice and instead turned back to the larger of the Thestrals, braiding it's mane. Cute, real cute. "I've never seen others around the Thestrals. It's rather odd." she said finally, although she had yet to completely join the group of older Slytherins, seeing as she was still a yard or so away. Perhaps something else to say would have been better, but she never had been good with starting a conversation.
