i draw the head first but i used to start with the eyes too

I start with the general grid of the character. But if you mean where I actually start drawing, then I start by doing thumbnails of the poses. Then I start off with a grid and angle of the head, and then the spine. 3nodding I start off with those two because I can solve and figure out how dynamic the action pose or body will become.
