Even though the song was over it was still ringing in his ears. He changed a few words, made them tell her his feelings. If he were to tell her that he...liked her with words he would have probably exploded. For some reason, singing was so much easier for him. So he didn't even find it strange that he was serenading Candy. it didn't even seem like serenading her, but just singing. Talking to her, expressing his feelings.
He didn't even notice that they were gazing into eachother's eyes, or that he was moving slightly closer to her...
Then she opened her mouth slightly. She was going to say something. His ears perked up. But nothing came. She tried again. Nothing.
He smiled kindly. "You don't need to say right away," He lay down in the grass which was now wet with dew, "I will wait for you."

Candy walked over and lay down next to Rockstar.
"Maybe you could stay with me for a while?"
She blushed and turned her head. What had she been thinking?! Of course he couldn't possibly want to stay with her. He probably had a mate somewhere and was just flirting to make her feel better.
"Umm..well..that is...stay if you don't have previous obligations. Please?" She turned to look at him as she asked, her blue eyes meeting his and pleading for him to say yes.

Rockstar moved a little closer to her face. It was so tempting, but he didn't want to scare he again. That was the last thing he wanted.
"Stay here? With you? Well...thats very tempting but...you see I have this thing..." He could see that she became sad by his hesitation. but he was only teasing. "So I don't know if I ca- of course Candy. Of course I will stay here with you. For as long as you please my sweet Heart." He laughed at his own pun. He rolled over onto his back and watched the young sun and then winked at Candy.

Candy beamed, practically lighting up the area. "You'll really stay then? Honest?! I'm so glad!" She leaned down and nudged his cheek affectionately. Her eyes widened and she blushed profusely while stuttering an apology.

Rockstar returned a glowing smile. He couldn't help it, that fact that she was here and even wanted him with her as well just made him want to explode with happiness. His smile was followed with a happy whinny.
"Honest!" He responded in a sing-song voice. Then she nuzzled him. He melted. When he heard he quick apology, he frowned, a bit hurt. "Don't apologize, I don't mind. I like it," he said with an honest smile, "Just do what your heart tells you, don't hold back." he said, and returned the affectionate nuzzle. He followed his heart.

Candy burred gently and nuzzled him again, then lay down beside him. "It's a beautiful day today. What would you like to do now?"

He nodded at her words. "Im sorry I ruined the beginning of it for you though, I really did not know anyone was there." He said with a humiliated smile.
He shuffled closer to her so that their bodies were touching. She was warm.
"Well," he said, trying to seem as if he was pondering over something important to do, "Why don't you tell me more about yourself? We could play twenty questions!"

"I will if you promise to do the same." She lay her head on his back. His warmth made her smile. "I was found by my two-legger Adsali after getting lost and suffering an injured leg. She and her companion Zuilian, who is now my herdmate, tended to me until I got well. When I couldn't find my herd again, they offered me a home with them. For a time I was happy staying in the teepee. One day though I met this Soquili named Tulgey Cat and he inspired me to go travelling. I met lots of friends along the way. A couple of them are angenis. The best thing though was meeting the stallion that adopted me into his family as his sister so now I split my time between my own slowly growing herd and his."
She looked at Rockstar, "You'd like Akuba and his three foals. Plus there's Keii and her mate Payton. I haven't met him yet and last I heard from her, she was going to have foals of her own." There was a slightly envious twinge to the last part, but she made no proclamation about foals. It was wiser to keep silent about your own feelings at times!

Rock smiled and nodded seriously. "I promise!"
He listened to Candy's story with a smile on his face. She seamed to brighten up when talking about her herd and all the other Soquili she had encountered. It must be nice to have a life that makes you smile. When she finished, he was itching to tell her about himself as well, so he didn't notice the change of expression she had when talking about Keii's foals.
"Well, I grew up in a great family. i grew up not far from these lands, it only took me two days to travel here. My father, Rutherford, was a parade horse. he always lead the fancy carriage or sang the beginning hymn at parades." He light up, thinking of his father. "He taught me everything I know! All the notes, alot of the songs. Even how to pull a carriage and let a two-legger sit on my back! My mother, also taught me a few things. Im an only child, my parents had a hard time having children." He said plainly. "When I became a full adult, my dad told me it was time to leave home. So I did. And I ended up here! I bumped into Suichii on my first day, and he took me to Selena's teepee, I kind of flirted with her, not knowing she was mated to Sui of course!" He added quickly, he didn't want her to think badly of him, "And then I just started to belong to both their herds, but I stay with Selena most of the time since she is all by herself and I think she's lonesome without Sui or anyone else other than her two legger. I like her, she's fun and interesting, but I don't think she likes my singing..." He said, twisting his face in thought.
"So thats my story." He said with a smile.

The pink mare smiled gently as she listened to Rock speak about his parents. He seemed to swell with pride. She gave a wistful sigh as she listened. How she wish she had known her parents, but that was not how it was meant to be for her. "What else would you like to know Rock?"

What else did he want to know? What didn't he want to know? He looked into Candy's big, pretty eyes as he sorted through all the questions he wanted to ask her. trying to find the perfect one. Then, he found it.
"Candy, have yo ever been in love with someone that seems completely too good for you?"

She looked at him, his eyes pleading with her. All she could think was to tell him the truth. "To be honest, I've never been in love before." There, she had said it. Her awful truth. She blushed, but stayed where she was. She doubted he'd want to leave just because of that.

Rockstar beamed. This meant she could...possible...be...His! He could express his joy. But then his smile wiped away, would she take it the wrong way? That he is smiling at the fact that she has never felt love? He would not allow that, he could not allow that.
"Ive never felt this kind of love either," He did not even notice that he was expressing his feelings completely, the words just poured out like a river. "Its nothing to be ashamed of, we are in the same boat!" He said with a large grin.

Candy looked at him bewildered. This was a shock for her. "You aren't saying that to tease me are you?" She gave a slight pout amd hoped he wasn't.

Rockstar motioned his head back, in suprise. "tease you? Why would I do that? Thats mean!" He blurted, as if it was the meanest thing one could do.
Then he blushed as their eyes locked.
