She blinked at this strange wolf, shook her head. "I... guess I am." she murmured, then sighed and turned away. "Would you like to see where I'm staying? You can... settle nearby if you'd like." After all, if he was going to stay, she might as well speak to him regularly. It would help her fill the hole in her heart that was left after losing her Pack. "There are a few structures nearby... mines the best though." she admitted. "The rest are a little... well."

Garin's ears perked forward. "Well what?" he asked, his tongue lolling out in a silent laugh. He already knew the lay of her land fairly well, but she didn't really need to know that. "And sure! Might as well see where it is."

"You'll see the well part." she told him, shrugging her shoulders and looking back at him. "Come on then. It isn't far." With that, she started off as fast as she could go - it was nowhere near her normal speed, and he would be able to keep up easily. Soon, they arrived at her 'base', and she started up the steps to her temple home. There were other buildings around, as she'd said, but they weren't made of stone as hers was, and thus, the jungle had started to reclaim them. Most didn't have roofs, and on some, the walls were starting to cave in as well.

Garin looked around him with bright, eager eyes. "Wooooow!" he breathed. "This place looks fun!" he galloped ahead of her and looked around, panting.

It was dim inside, the sun blocked by the ceiling. She'd found a cloth that hadn't rotted away yet and was using it to sleep on in one corner. There ware still religious artifacts strewn all about the room, and a large stone alter overlayed with gold in the center. "Hey!" she snapped, annoyed that he'd gotten inside first. "Wait for me!"

Garin stuck his head out. "Then don't go so slow... Oh! Sorry." He laughed, and then ducked back in, looking around her private place. "Wooow... And you live here all by yourself?"

Don't go so slow? Don't go so slow?! she thought irritably as she hobbled up the steps. When she was better, she'd give him such a walloping. "Yes." she told him rather testily. "I live here all by myself. I already told you I didn't have a Pack."

However, Garin had already moved on. "Hey hey!" he said as he started sniffing around the gold altar. "What's this? It's so pretty and shiny!" he looked up at her, ears moving back and forth, his tail wagging.

She glared at him for a moment, stubbornly refusing to answer on the grounds that he was annoying, then sighed and gave in to his enthusiasm. "I don't know. It's something humans use. I like it thought. When the sun sets, the light comes in through the door, and makes it even more beautiful." she nodded, finally getting inside, then went to sit by the other Helix.

Garin looked to her, his tail still wagging. "I want to see that!" He stopped. "Although, I suppose I should find a place to live..." He paused. "Hey, this place is big enough! You should let me stay here with you!"

She yelped, terribly startled. "No! You can not stay here!" she gasped, looking at him as if he'd lost his mind. "I hardly know you! Why would I let you stay with me? You can find your own place to stay!" Still... part of her thought that it would be nice to keep him close by... both to watch him and for protection. She had a feeling that, if he had to, he would leap to her defense. Though why, she couldn't fathom.

"If you don't know me, then you should let me stay here," he said, as if that made all the sense in the world. "That way, we'll get to know one another better." He nodded his head. "Yes yes... it will work perfectly!" And, as if he'd already made the decision, he lept over the alter and looked around. "Hey hey! Where can I sleep?"

She growled, but there was little threat in the sound. She hobbled over to her corner, and stood protectively on the blanket. "Anywhere but here." she snapped, then lay down, clearly marking her territory. Then she sighed. "I think there was another blanket where I found mine. It was in the building just to the right of this one."

Garin blinked at her, then nodded. "Okay! I'm gonna go look for it. I'll be back in a minute or two!" He turned and then galloped out the door, his tail wagging briskly.

She watched him leave, then sighed. "Silly mongrel." she whispered half heartedly. "I don't need you." That was a terrible lie, of course. He would come in handy, with hunting and protecting her territory... now their territory, she supposed.
