'I'm glad..' she said, lowering herself to the ground, giving up the pretense that she wasn't shaking on her hooves, and needing to lie down again. She would give herself a few days more of proper rest, and recuperation and then she would be back training, herself and Lamb.
She let out a sigh of relief, letting her legs splay on the ground, her tail gently flicking at the dirt floor of the cave. She looked up at Lamb, giving him a warm smile.
'I'm going to rest some more. The day is yours, to do with as you wish. Maybe you should visit your family, let them know you're okay.' she suggested. She didn't want him to go away, but he was a male, and she was still holding onto her self-sufficiency and independence despite her feelings for him.

As she brought her body back down to the earth he watched. It was evident that laying down felt very nice to her. It looked like it felt so nice, in fact, that he considered joining her for a moment. He didn't much feel like resting yet, however. He was still young and whether he realized it or not that youth gave him a great deal of energy to burn each day.
"Family...?" He tilted his head slightly to one side at her suggestion. It had been a while since he had seen them but it would take him half a day just to walk to their usual grounds and back. There was no telling how long his mother would keep him there. There was no guarantee that he would be back in a reasonable amount of time.
His dark pink eyes wandered from the entrance of the cave to Fox's form on the ground. She had suggested the trip so did that mean that she wanted him to take it? He really had no way of telling. "Then...I'll be back before morning..." The tip of his tail twitched back and forth as he spoke. He wouldn't let his mother keep him any longer than that.

'I'm sure they will pleased to see you,' she said, her voice tight with all that she was supressing. She had to let him have his independence, despite her feelings.
'Remember what I've taught you, and I shall see you soon.'
Fox lowered her head onto her legs. It might feel a little like she was dismissing him, but she wanted to show that despite all they had talked about she wasn't clingy. She didn't want him to go, but she was still struggling, an inner battle to keep up the front, to be the confident mare that he'd first met.

"Perhaps..." His ear twitched at the unusual variation he was hearing in Fox's voice. If asked why her voice sounded the way it did he would have had no answer. He still couldn't understand such things. "Of course..." There was really no chance that he would forget something so important. It wasn't often that he forgot anything anyway.
His comments had remained completely casual, even neutral in sound. Yet, as she put her head down her felt a very unusual pang in his gut. It was a sensation he had never really encountered before and he wondered if perhaps it was something he had eaten. "I'll come back soon..." he said knowing that he was essentially repeating himself. It just seemed like something he should do for no logical reason.
Once said, however, he bowed his head offering Fox one last smile before departing. He wanted to get back to his family as quickly as possible so he could take care of business and then leave again. It wouldn't take long. He would make sure of it.

Fox watched him go from under lidded eyes. There was a moment where she almost called him back, called out his name..but she bit down on the impulse, and stayed quiet, listening to the silence of the cave. She eventually fell asleep, frustrated with herself and her obstinate nature.
