Usually when she was in here watering and such, Ebony would start humming or singing to herself, but with the two there she felt far too self conscience about it. It was different to sing in front of tons of people who didn't know you in a public venue, but when it came to being here and just the three of them...she just couldn't bring herself to. So it was best to just keep the conversation going otherwise she might accidentally fall into the usual habit.

With a delicate pluck, the woman pulled a lilac from its spot and placed it on one of Aphismet's ears. She chuckled at the bright contrast between his alabaster hair and the lavender shaded flower, but also at the fact of him wearing a flower in his hair. "Yup, it's a great color. All the passion of red mixed with the tranquility of blue. It's no wonder it was a royal color." Moving to the next row, "I think you could do it if you really wanted to. Maybe not so much with live models at first, but maybe if you tried copying some of the photos that Rivener's taken? It might be a fun experiment for the two of you to try sometime."

When Ebony finished the second row she passed the watering can to Aphismet, "Do you mind watering the last two rows? I need to uh, take care of the flytraps." Her face held a tiny bit of sourness to it when she'd said that. Feeding the flytraps was not one of her favorite things to do, but she was hoping it would help with the bug phobia. And if that failed, at least once the plants were full grown she could place them all over the house and let them take care of whatever pests wandered in there uninvited.

"Oils sound messy, but they do come out looking very nice afterwards though." As she took a little tub of dead insects out and carefully handled them (without trying not to faint or scream), Ebony gently tickled the tiny, leafy head to get them to open before plopping an insect in. "So which is your favorite Rivener? Painting or photography?"

Aphismet chuckled as he allowed the flower to be placed at his ear, lifting an eyebrow at the purple blooms he could see in the corner of his peripheral vision. "It suits me, does it?" he laughed again, tucking the flower more securely behind his ear. "And yeah, I suppose I could branch out and start trying to do portraits, but I'm content with painting scenery. It's calming, and that's what painting is supposed to do for me. Hmm, painting a picture Rivener took would be interesting indeed, though."

The chef took the watering can without needing to be asked twice, glad for a chance to help. He moved to the flowers and watched Ebony head over to the fly traps, wincing in sympathy. Those things most likely ate bugs, right? And Ebony was scared of bugs...

Rivener hadn't been paying very much attention, and hearing his name forced him to look over to the purple-haired host, blinking in confusion for a moment until Ebony cleared up his hesitation with a multiple-choice question. "Oh, which one I prefer? I like Photography better. It's quicker, and it's a lot easier to cart a camera around than an easel and paints. It's more accurate, too. Painting is fun and all, but picture-taking is better." Riv nodded, suddenly wishing he'd brought his camera this time. He hadn't thought there'd be anything that interesting at Ebony's place, but now he wanted to take pictures of that flower corner of the greenhouse. ...And of Aphi with a silly flower in his hair, Rivener thought with a laugh.

"Are we gonna be going soon? It's not that I don't like it here, but I'd like to go to Zul's house before we have to leave Gambino." Riv perked up, glancing at Aphi.

The chef sighed. "Riv, seriously, it's rude to just announce you want to leave right in front of your host. We'll go soon, so just sit tight. And besides, we can't just drop in without calling first or anything... Ebony, I'm sorry about this. Riv can be a little callous sometimes. I'm sure he's enjoying it very much here. ...Er, how much water should I be sprinkling exactly?" Suddenly paranoid that he'd over-watered (the can was nearly empty!), Aphi yanked his arms away from the potted plants.

Ebony managed to finish feeding the plants without much trouble, but the minute she was done she couldn't help doing a little shuddering dance back over to the cook and the Scorpion. Having to be near bugs in general was bad enough, but having to actually touch them, and dead ones at that, was enough to make the woman's skin crawl. It must have slipped her mind that a scorpion was sort of considered a bug. "Ah, I guess that makes sense. Nice that you at least experiment with other mediums. Some people just get stuck in what they already know and never branch out."

She came over to help Aphismet with the watering, peering over when he'd asked if that was too much. Taking the can back, "That's fine. They need the water." Holding the can loosely against her body, Ebony smiled fondly at the two. It had been really nice having them over today, even if she'd initially been somewhat irritated by the sudden drop by. "Oh it's no problem Aphismet. I'm sure you two have lots of things to do today besides visiting me. Besides, that flower needs to get to its destination before it wilts, yes?" A single slate eye gave a knowing wink towards the Sigel. It was pretty obvious by the Raevan's voice and body language that he was really wanting to visit this Zul person. "If you need a phone you can use mine."

Aphismet gladly handed the watering can back to its owner, smiling as she informed him that he hadn't inadvertently killed her plants. He supposed they should get going now, then. He didn't want to be here too long and become a burden. "Thank you for letting us visit, and see your home and your greenhouse. I think we will get going now, yeah. Riv seems about ready to just take off on his own if I don't move." Aphi chuckled.

Riv rolled his eyes, holding the flower preciously and frowning at Aphi. "I'm not THAT rude that I'd just, like, leave. And yeah, thanks for the flower and the coffee, Ebony. And don't use the phone!" Riv said to Aphi as the chef straightened, apparently intent on going through with that suggestion. The Sigel explained: "I want it to be a surprise." He grinned.

With another sigh, hoping this wouldn't be another strange reaction like the one they'd gotten out of Ebony when they arrived HERE, Aphismet nodded. "Alright, alright, a surprise it is. Let's go, then. Again, Ebony, thank you for receiving us. The coffee was wonderful. I suppose I'll see you next week for training, then!"

With a few more goodbyes and waves, Aphismet and Rivener walked back around the house and reached their car, getting in. "See, she wasn't mad at all."

"...But she wasn't happy to see us at first, just like I said."

Aphi rolled his eyes at the smug tone of his charge, and started the engine. The concept of where they were going should be enough to keep the Scorpion from bragging too much...

She laughed too as she wouldn't be a bit surprised if Rivener just took off leaving his poor guardian behind. When you had wings you might as well use them, right? Seeing them back through the house and to the front door, making sure to get Aphismet his casserole dish on the way, "It was nice having you over, thanks for visiting. Though for future reference, it'd be nice if you called ahead next time. Which you ARE welcome to visit anytime!" She felt it prudent to add the last part since she didn't want them thinking she didn't like them over. It was just that she would prefer it with just a little more notice from now on.

With a wave to them as they pulled out, "Bye! Take care of that flower! And see you next week!" Things really were starting to look up for her.
