Represents how easily an idea can be vehiculated through peoples minds. Tiananmen Square is the place where in 1989 a man tried to stop a colum of tanks by standing in front of it. The image of China beeing fighting for it's freedom was created by those images on T.V . What really was the reason ? We don't know but SOAD is showing us that such events having a meanig on television thta goes down in History maybe isn't the real one. Television made you buy it.

leaves us blinded
This part of the song focuses back on the main story of it. A young girl n China during the Support Democracy in China and Christus Rex et Redemptor Mundi, mouvements (non profit organisations fighting for a democratic system in China.). She's scared to go because propaganda has blinded here in faith to her country now torn
apart and in bloodshed because of the military represion the gouverment had issued. Scared to leave because she is but a simple minded pawn under control of the communist regime in place in China at the time (propaganda is always very present in a communist regimes). She doesn't trust who seeks to help her because of that.
This song is caracteristi c of SOAD because it uses historical facts to ilustrate the state of contrloled sheeps our society has turned us into. Hidden behind pretty music is hidden a true political and social warnig to all of us a wake up call. That one of the reasons I like SOAD, when they write a songit's not just words aligned,it's an extremly srtuctured and complexe, but clear once the time to look at the lyrics is taken, message.

Vampo Rainze Platformer Adept Cheerful Spirit You know... That was so beautiful. Dreaming is beautiful. And so is your interpretation. Wow. I really love your point of view. I agree with you, it makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the comment. I appreciate it. Sounds to me like your stretching it way too much. Though I have yet to take the time to develope a theory about this one, that just doens't sound right. Well first off that's what I think the song is about... I'm not stating that's what the song is really about; it's just a personal interpretation. And maybe it is stretched out, because I'm just trying to make sense of it all out of my own ideas. Whatever kind of interpertation or whatever kind of message you get out of this song; I'll respect it, and consider it. Cause all it is, is opinionated interpretations.

xxridofme So far I think Vicinity of Obscenity is about sex. (Banana = p***s, Terracotta Pie = v****a) - And "Is that a perfect way of holding your baby?" - yeah. Many sexual inuendo's. I love it, though. thats what its about? *hits head* *dies* xp

Nonono, Vicinity of Obsenity isn't about sex, its a bout what you just said. To clarify: The song never accually says anything about sex, but implies it again and again. Implications can only be seen if you are partially expecting them. The giveaway is the line "Vicinity of Obsenity in your eyes" Vicinity is a general area. He's talking about how people have an "Area of Obsenity" in their eyes. Like a filter. You see something and translate it into something sexual. The point is, people translate simple, mundain phrases and objects as sexual innuendo, regardless of whether or not it is. He's ranting about the fact that that is running so rampant in society these days. If you say banana in public, most people will picture a p***s before an accual banana, and that's bad. ooohh. xp
