Vest sighed thoughtfully. "I cannot say. I had heard a rumor that a rider from the east who had lost his apprentice was supposed to be your new mentor but the council had disclosed any more information. They seem to be growing paranoid." He stated grimly. "And what can you expect? With the increasing number of deaths as of late, one can not help but think some dark forces are to blame." Aine put in wisely.

After a few minutes of flying, Claes and Kotare touched down beside the group already amassed. Claes dismounted with a leap and strode with a smile towards the others! "Master Vest! And Aine, Klys, Isza, Luca, and Aohdahn!" He beamed as he looked about at them. "Surely you remember Claes the northerner, and Kotare of the black scales?" he added, "Iliana and Skystar are coming too. We couldn't miss the pairing ceremony."
Kotare had settled down and was glancing around at the other dragons with a happy gleam in his eye. Good to see you all. He said jovially.

Izsa looked at the black dragon, "Hello! It's been long! I havn't seen you in forever!" The green dragon went to Kotare and hugged him (kind of a neck hug... think of how a dragon would hug another dragon and that's how it would look.) "Good morning Claes, as Izsa said it's been too long, are you staying for Grichia and Izrak's funeral?"

Claes nodded solemnly. "Indeed. It seems only yesterday I remember the Council meet, the two cracking jokes when others were so serious..."
Kotare returned the gesture of kindness showed by Izsa. I haven't seen you since you were knee high! He said jokingly, referring to the younger dragon's training with the fallen mentor way back when.
Claes offered a smile. "On the positive side, you will receive your new mentor! And we get to watch all the new Riders pair with dragons!" His eyes grazed over the others, coming to a stop on Luca. His eyes narrowed and his jaw set into a scowl. "Please, young master Luca, if you would allow it Kotare and I would find whosoever desecrated the face of a Ride rnad lay down the law."
Kotare raised his head alert, suddenly looking past Izsa to Luca. The dragon uttered a low, guttural growl. If I had a taste for human, I'd assure that one didn't live long... What is the full story, Luca?

"It is the boys own fault. He has yet to learn that it is below the place of a rider to allow himself to get into street fights with common city rufians." Vest told them gazely firmly at his apprentice. Aine decided to add to the conversation. "And where were you Aodahn when Luca got into this fight? Is it not the role of a dragon to stand by his rider at all times protecting him from danger, let alone preventing any potentially dangerous situations?" Aine asked also taking a stern tone of voice.

Claes turned his hard expression to Luca. "My... After all your training?" he said, the smile cracking his face once more. "You'll be a pile of bones in no-time!"
Kotare sighed and settled himself closer to the other dragons. I really wish you would learn to stay more serious, Claes.

Skystar roared and launched into the air behind thier masters.
Iliana laughed and held on tight to Skystar's spikes.

Klys looked to the sky and saw no approaching dragons, he looked the other way and saw the student of Claes and Kotare. "Are you sure it was today?" "If I'm wrong than so are they, all I know is that it's supposed to be here and the hold leaders are coming, lat includes the harpers the smithers the cooks, and carpenters. the lords and ladies of the hold, the king of the hold as well, every one will be here. but what is taking them I don't know." Izsa concluded. She looked towards the hold, not a dragon in sight.

Claes frowned. "Not a soul arriving besides fellow Riders and Dragons is quite suspicious in my books. How can we be sure that some entity or force didn't use the mourning occasion to catch them all together and wipe them out?" He boldly stated, jumping to a wild conclusion.

(Woops....I missed a bunch, sorry guys, let catch up here... sweatdrop )
Luca blushed a deeper shade of red at Claes' and hid behind his uncut hair, he listened intently as they brought up funeral arrangements and such. "Hmmm, no ones here yet?" he thought. Aodahn glanced around, "I suppose not." he thought back, "Where could they be?" Aodahn shot a questioning glance at Aine.

Iliana and Skystar caught up with Claes and Kotare. "Masters?" She spoke. "Is something wrong?" And how can we help?

Claes gestured to Iliana and Skystar. "Surely you remember my student Iliana, and her dragon Skystar?" He smiled to them. "Nothing is wrong. We were discussing funeral preparations for the fallen mentors."

"And the possible whereabouts of the council. It is their duty to oversee that Klys and Izsa recieve new mentors." Vest put in voice sounding with an edge. "Something troubles you." Aine said. It wasn't a question. Vest said nothing. He shook his head to himself before turning back to Luca who was attempting to slip away. "Luca!" he called sharply. "I ask again, what do you have to say for yourself?" he asked his voice hard.

Luca's head drooped at his failed escape attempt, he peered at Vest through his hair, "Uh...the other guy got the worst of it?" he replied. Aodahn snickered under his breath, "Wow, I'm sure THAT calmed his temper."

Vest sighed impatiently. "And what sort of image I wonder does that display to the public? Dragon riders in training getting into pointless scraps in the middle of town with their dragons standing by watching? You shame the name of the dragonrider with this behavior!" Vest scolded harshly. "Calm yourself, Vest." They still are but boys." she finished telepathically.
