Hearing his voice she about burst into tears. He was alive! Thank every god in the sky! Sucking up what little courage she had left, she took off in a spirnt through the flames. SHe could feel her mane singe, her fur crisp. She dove through, toppling into the water on the other side. Panting heavily, she rolled in the water thanking the heavens she'd made it through. Bounding to her feet, she gave the stallion a withering look.
"Don't you ever scare me like that again! I thought you were a crisp!"

Mel laughed and wrapped his neck around hers in the horse equivelant of a hug. "Come on, we're home free now." He took off down the stream towards the lake and jumped straight into the water. The coolness of it washed over him as he went under and swam towards the center of the lake. When he came up her turned and watched the fire eat at the trees and the grass. "It's a long swim to the other side so we better start moving now. The fire should stay on that side." He turned to look at Chaci and smiled. "You did good. Minus the small panic attack you had but I forgive you for that." He laughed and started swimming away from the fire.
