(Figures, just when I decide to post, most people are offline. --_--)
The forest was silent, save for the chirping birds and the whisper of a grass snake. Keri walked softly through the green plants, keeping silent even though she knew that no one else was near. Old habits die hard, she thought to herself. Though she had gotten used to the bright, vivid colors of the surface world, the sun's light still pained her often. With the added effect of the shade, she kept the dark green side of her cloak over her head. A town sounded close, one that she would have to avoid.
Day was still going in full force. It would be hours until he would be able to move again. Gygax cursed his traitorous sister for the umpteenth time. Lolth was already displeased when she had ran away to the surface world. This horrible world where even the nights were bright. He retreated farther into the cave, until he reached the very back of it. It would have to do, until dusk came. He settled back down to sleep until he could track her again.

Keri saw the town soon enough, through the trees and brush. Her supplies were dwindling more with each day, so she might just have to stop anyway. Dusk would be the best time, she made up her mind. For now, she'd stay on the outskirts until it got darker. She climbed easily into a tree, and made herself comfortable to wait until the sun began to set.

"Just.... no one.... knows me in this.... form..." She came to the shore, and her tail turned into legs, and her fins disappeared. She stood there in her skirt and sweater, still nervous.
