Fish Bones wanders over, inspecting the bush. After a moment, he nods. "Yes, they tend to be rather sour though." Giving a snort, he goes back to his bush to resume eating, much preferring the sweet juicy berries to the sour ones.

Golden-Spider nods in thanks, his mouth salivating at the memory of sour. Somewhat hesitantly, he reaches out, plucking a fat berry off the bush. Pulling it into his mouth, he bites, feeling the juice run over his tongue. First he gets a burst of mild sweetness, then a very strong burst of sourness. Chewing, he ponders this, not exactly favoring this new fruit, but not disliking it, either. "They aren't that bad, something new now and again, right?" He replies to Fish Bones.
Getting an idea, Golden-Spider plucks off a few more berries, then goes to the other bush, plucking several of those as well. Popping each berry in his mouth, Golden-Spider lets the sweet-tart flavor mix with the almost too sweet of the other berries. Coming up with something sweet, still a little too sweet, and sour. "You should try them together." He spends the next few minutes going back and forth, mixing berries. Even mixing in leaves from both bushes to add still more new flavors.

Fish Bones shakes his head. "No thanks." After spending another few minutes eating, he gives a contented sigh. "That's better, ready when you are." He heads back to the spot they'd been shaping yesterday, inspecting it. Seeing that it looks water tight, Fish Bones starts to dig out the rest of the area, adding the mud to the reshaped bit as extra support. As he digs, the ponds water starts to fill in, slowly coming up to the reshaped edge.

"Suit yourself." He replies, taking another bite.
When Fish Bones declares he's done, Golden-Spider finishes his mouthful, eager to return to work. "What do you need done now?"

Finishing his task, and noting the water is fully in the new section - and not leaking, Fish Bones turns to answer Golden-Spider. "Now we build up the edges of the clearing, this will be a big pond with a smaller pond inside it." As he speaks, Fish Bones climbs out of the pond and heads to the outer edge of the area. First he marks the outline, dragging his hoof through the semi-damp soil as he moves around the edge. "We'll be building it up to about knee height, using logs, rocks and dirt. The dirt will come straight from what will be the pond bottom. Everything else we'll need to find else where." Finished drawing the line, he heads off to look for logs and rocks.

Quickly, Golden-Spider gets to work. Going to the edge of the clearing, he starts pulling and pushing out the required materials. Most are easily shifted, but the work is still hard enough to forgo chit chat. Between both bucks they manage the job even quicker, so that it seems they've just started when everything is ready to be placed.

Having the necessary materials, Fish Bones again goes into the pond. "If you push them over I'll place them. We'll both add mud or dirt as needed to fill the gaps." He says, then watches as his friend nods and starts rolling a log over. Fish Bones lets it slide down, using his front legs, and even his head, to guide it where it goes.
This work is much longer since it requires putting each piece in a specific spot. Still, the two bucks move efficiently, banter and laughs occasionally being heard. By the time Fish Bones notices the sun is close to setting the pond is nearly complete. He stops, calling to Golden-Spider. "That's enough for today. Thanks for the help. I should be able to finish the rest, if there's other things you need to do." Fish Bones pulls himself up from the water as he speaks. "If you'd rather wait for morning to get a fresh start your welcome to stay here. In fact, your welcome here when ever you want. Seems only fair considering you've worked just as hard to build it."
Fish Bones trails off toward the bushes, calling over his shoulder. "First though, it's dinner time. I'd be a bad host if I didn't insist on you staying at least that long."

Golden-Spider was just about to ask for a halt, his muscles were getting sore, when Fish Bones did it for him. "Thank you. I don't have anything else I need to do. I don't like to be in one spot for long, but I'll have dinner and rest here." He states, following Fish Bones into the bushes. "And I'll be back now and again. It'll be nice to see this pond finished."
