Ginger was about to respond to Josh when she heard Orli. Instead of denying it, she proceeded to fall into a giggle fit, one hand covering her mouth while the other wrapped around her waist. Oh, that was a hilarious notion! Her, Josh's girlfriend? As if. He was like her brother! Her giggles subsided after a moment, and she flashed a smile Josh's way. "Nah, I'm good. Thanks for the offer, though." Amusement laced every words she said, along with a hint of a laugh.

Joshua shot a glare in Orli's direction. Dating Ginger was unthinkable! Impossible! The very thought made him want to gag. And why did Ginger find this so amusing? He didn't, he didn't find it funny in the least. "She's not my girlfriend." He muttered, all the while thinking, 'But Nattie will be.'
Miles grinned, and dragged Zemel with him as he made his way towards Fish and Crowley. "Come on," He said. "I bet it's an awesome firework."

"How many times does it explode," said Crowley with a sort of wide-eyed morbid fascination. He healed faster than most people and scarred a lot less visibly, but even he didn't want a faceful of fireworks. Snatching the tube from Fish, he took to looking for the fuse or whatever; surely his friend would already know how many explosives were in this, or something.

Orli took one of the cans of proffered pop and cracked it open. It fizzed a bit but did not explode. She took a long sip, hinting at an ability to down large volumes of caffeinated beverage that would prove absolutely terrifying once she moved on to coffee, and then another. She finished the can in six swallows and burped quietly. She did not say 'Excuse me.'
"Come on," she said, "Ginger - Tezza, let's go light some rockets. Let Joshy-poo sulk if he wants to."
The glowing girl had a wicked grin on her face as she fished several long fireworks out of her bag.
Fish looked back at Crowley, returning his blood brother's wide-eyed fascination. "A lot," he said, and left it at that. He crouched down, stuck the firework into the sand, and found the fuse.
"This is going to be awesome," he declared, and sparked the lighter. The fuse took. He stepped quickly back, pulling the other boys with him.
One after another, a dozen balls of golden light shot into the sky, each one climbing higher than the last and exploding in sequence to release showers of silver and emerald and turquoise sparks. The sparks zoomed around like fireflies for a bit before each one flared brightly and went out.
"I think it was a magic firework," said Fish quietly, in awe of his own selection brilliance.

Tezza was about to reply to Orli when the firework the boys had gone off with exploded high in the sky. It was to say the leas a pretty damned impressive display and it left the girl rather speechless. Fireworks were now on the girl's list of things her life needed a lot more of.
