grah... I seem to mess up every playing test... but I play perfectly when everyone else is! It drives me crazy, 'cause I know I'm good, but obviously the band directors don't! Which is why I'm still 2nd chair... grrr... I will get everything right... until it's my turn.

To answer the question, yes.
The midterm review in orchestra.
Now i am a very accomplished violin andstring bass player. been playing for many years(7 on violin,5 on bass) and i ma a freshman in highschool, so teh orchestra teacher thinks i suck automatically. I always play abd in front of her alone, but even worse, come playing review time, she psyches meout. I go in with the mindset"Im gonna show her sumthin" and she automatically says "Now just do the best that you can do. Your in the beginning stages of learning a musical instrument, andthings liek that. Then i want to site read on string bass, and she says "well, im not going to say anything, but....i think you shoudl sight read on violin, your not as aquanted with bass cleff yet" and this gets on my nerves, as i also play trombone, and i knwo bass cleff throght and through. So she psyches me out and i suck on teh review.

I just blew my playing test today. and it was all because my bass clarinet wouldn't let me get a decent not out!

*twitch twitch* I just did today it was ok I was doing fine to that evil slow soft note for the flute grrr got me 6th chair out of 12.

The first, and hopefully last time that I screwed up a reviewed playing session horribly was trying out for honors band. I wasn't nervous at all up until my Gb scale. When I got there, I totally blanked out and started panicking like crap. Everything after that was a big, horrible blur. My etude sounded 10 times worse than it did when I first played it. My chromatic scale sounded like a dying cow trying to sing or something. Those poor french horn judges were like, "Uh... we all have to go through this one time or another." I was just like gonk . Immediately after, I actually thought I did okay, but the adrenaline was kind of making me funky, I guess, because all of what I can remember was pretty bad considering how I normally play. I definitely know how I got the score that I got. >_>
Playing tests for band can sometimes be a little stressful but I've never failed one. In fact, when I had to play the concert... E... scale? Yeah, E, I think... it was randomly selected from all 12 scales- I got a 100 ^^
I remember thinking I did horribly doing chair tryouts at the end of last year, and then I made 2nd chair in the highest band I could be in. I was one of only a handful of sophomores to make it in, so I was like, eek . w00t.

I've haven't bombed... yet. I do remember a time where I couldn't play a trill. And that was horrible.

I get so nervous that I bomb the test. i always make sure I know the scales we're playing perfectly.. but as soon as I have to play, i cant.

The 8th grade midterm, aka "Where you're gonna end up for the rest if your high school career." I never practiced the piece, I was so nervous I ran away and they had to drag me back. and calm me down with lavender.
I'll never live it down. Of course, it prompted me to practice my a** off, and this year I got a 95 and a chance at Wind Ensemble. surprised
Guess the alias for the 8th grade midterm wasn't so accurate.

We had auditions for parts in band this morning cos there were a shitload of woodwinds, so we had to do a chromatic scale (tongued), sight reading, and a section from a band piece (Havendance. 1-23.)
Well, the sight reading was pretty good, I owned my band piece, but the scales. gonk I was all nervous and crap at first, plus I can't do chromatics tongued. >> Ended up with fingering and tongue way out of sync. Not good.
And I do not want to end up in second flute. -_-

I have never bombed a test. I have gotten a 9/10 before, but that's it. That was before when I was in 6th grade clarinet, but now I am a 7th grade trumpet and I think I'm pretty good myself.

I have an aura around me were I won't bomb it, but I'll do decent, in fact my last audition for high school, I had no instrument to prsctice with prier, and I did really good, I probably would have done better had I practiced

i bombed my test today on Ascension. The flute part is all 32nd notes in The Ascension and I screwed up the tempo horribly...*sigh* oh well.

I've got relatively good fingering but less good tone. xd
