Morigi considered , but being one who didn't look back he continued," I like freedom, but also control, Figuring things out, making things turn out like they should be it good or bad. making things go forward instead of going stale. ya know what I mean?"

Cataloguing the traits Morigi was ascribing to himself, Laures was starting to form a slightly clearer picture of the face the other stallion presented to the world. He liked to be in control, to have things go his way, living a life full of excitement. This was nothing more or less than what Laures himself tried to do, but at least he was more honest with himself when he was alone.
He wondered if the life ever wore at Morigi, if it ever made him feel empty and alone. Or in the middle of the night woke him and forced him to examine his insecurities by moonlight, ready to be locked away at the first light of day.
There was no way the other stallion would be willing to volunteer the information, and probably not even after Laures would do what he was planning, even then he thought any information given would be begrudgingly. Oh well. It wouldn't be the first time, or even the last, he took this risk. He only hoped it would pay off for him in the end.
"I understand." He took a deep breath. " I understand all too well. I was once a weakling, and my whole life was dictated to me. I daren't go against anyone's wishes. But one day, I'd had enough, and grew a backbone. I started to make my own choices and decide how I wanted to be. There is nothing more liberating. Then, I started to travel, and put on whatever mask was expected of me. But deep in the night, or when I know I'm alone, I am me. The real me. Not what everyone sees me as. I'm full of fears and insecurity. I have a temper and can be lost to the anger I try not to show... Every one has a mask they wear, even if they're unaware."

Morig smirked feeling his control come back to him. This flutter did seem like him"Don't think because of that makes me like you, I have been taken over by THAT darkness and overcame, sadly the one that saved me is gone, but now, " winking a bit," you do seem to be more like him, steadfast and hoping he was on the right path.I can say for one that fear is scary but not to be wasted, just think it through and jump and hope it doesn't catch you again." pulling a little flare at the end.

"I'm sorry. I hope it isn't too painful a reminder..." His voice trailed off. There was enough pain in everyday life, without being reminded of pain from the past.
He was glad to find someone that understood darkness, having experienced it in their own life and overcoming- even if it was with the help of somebody else. He'd never had that luxury. Too many were afraid of the consequences of going against his father, or they just couldn't be assed to care about someone else's problems. Oh, well, c'est la vie. It's not like he blamed them or anything.
Laures was amused by his companion's theatrics, and took note of the flair he used at the end, wondering if he might be so successful in using such actions at the end of his stories. He concluded he probably could, but the success of the matter would need to be seen.
"If it is not too impertinent, might I ask what this friend of yours was like?"

Morigi looked a bit shocked the young man who acted so much like a boy that he fell for only to see the young man whisked away. I guess I can tell a little.." very friendly and wants others to depend on him, very shy and underestimates himself alot, he is humble and alot stronger that he believes, that is where you seem to be like him, for one you both seem unsure of yourselves."

Laures canted his head. While it was interesting and flattering to be compared to this friend, who'd obviously meant a lot to the other, it also meant being thought of with some qualities which he didn't possess.
He thought he'd like to be Morigi's friend- but first he needed to clear up the fact that while he may be similar, he wasn't this other stallion.
"I'll admit to a few of those qualities- but not them all." He half-murmured. But louder he said, " I may not be this friend you so obviously miss, but I'd like to be your friend."

Morigi smiled, "awe! you like me!" he knew they weren't that alike" he HATED me but would never admit it, plus you are friendly."

Laures blushed and stammered. "N-n-no I don't. I mean I do like you but..."
He just decided to shut up then and there. Yes, he did enjoy the stallions company- he could even learn to deal with his flirtations given time- but he didn't like the stallion in anyway other than that of a friend.
Friend. He liked the thought of finally having a male friend. Someone he could talk to and be as himself without having to constantly censor his remarks. He was sure the other stallion would understand and be able to take it in his stride.
Yes, he nodded decisively at his own thoughts. They were friends.
He grinned. "Well, you're not that anti-social yourself."

Laures trilled a bright, bubbly laugh. He hadn't had such fun in a long time. But then he sobered by the time he registered the last bit of Morigi's comment.
"Well, once I'd thought... maybe," He shook his mane to get rid of the bangs in his face. "I had hoped I did, at one point, but it didn't work out."
