"Really? Wow... Cody must have been upset as well, he wouldn't stop talking about how much fun he had reading to him at the library when he woke up," Shadai muttered, wandering over to the two sleeping children. "You know, you can always stick around for a while till one or the other wakes up," she added softly, lightly touching Cody's arm. Instantly and rather possessively, the greed spawn tightened his hold on Ѐdes and shifted a bit in his sleep, frowning slightly.

"Yeah, we'd better wait till Cody wakes up or something; I highly doubt he'll release Ѐdes without a struggle of some sort," Shadai commented with a sigh and straightened. Oh the joys of raising a child of Greed that had a slight problem with stealing and claiming things, and creatures of all types, as 'his and his alone'.

"Well, if it's any help, I'll be waking Cody up in an hour or so for dinner and will probably release him then," Shadai replied, giggling at his request for tea. She didn't bother mentioning that Arytiss would probably be rather happy to pry apart the two or wake Cody up by any means possible.

"Sure, you can have some more. Come, we can talk in the kitchen without disturbing them," she added, heading into the kitchen and getting out the pitcher of iced tea from the fridge. Grabbing a glass from the cupboard, the female poured herself a glass and waited for Noel to give her his cup to be refilled.

Shadai poured his drink and suddenly wondered if there was anything going on that night that would cause her to say no. "If you want to stay, then sure. I won't stop you and I'm sure Cody would enjoy the company as well as myself," she replied, handing Noel his now full drink. Yet, she was pretty damned sure Ary wouldn't enjoy the extra company at all. Oh well, she could eat in her room if she didn't want to sit with them.

After a couple hours of talking and sipping iced tea, the sound of a door opening and shutting echoed through the mostly quiet house. Footsteps paused at the top of the stairs and already Shadai knew what was going to happen. "If you hear screaming or shouting, ignore it," she warned.

The footsteps continued down the stairs after a moment and the flash of Arytiss' white hair made the Egyptian sigh. "Psst, hey brat. Braaaaat, wake up," came the soft whisper of the other female. Silently, Shadai counted down from five, knowing that the female only gave him five seconds, if that, to wake up before-

"WAKE UP YOU IRRITATING LITTLE ********!" Arytiss shouted, shoving the child over completely. Cody woke up with a start and cried out in surprise as he hit the floor. Somehow, he had managed to shift Édes out of the way as he fell and after a quick check to make sure the toddler was alright, Cody launched himself at the white haired female, tackling her to the ground.

Shadai sighed as the Arytiss walked in a few minutes later after what sounded like a wrestling match in the other room with Cody slung over her shoulder. Cody, of course, was kicking, punching and snarling, doing everything he could to get Arytiss to let him down.

"Brat is-Oh... You're still here?" Arytiss said, almost as if she was surprised as she suddenly released Cody. Falling, the child managed to land on his feet, glare angrily at Ary, and scamper back into the living room. "Ary, how many times have I told you to not do that?" Shadai asked, sighing and rubbing her temples. The female merely smirked, pulled out a chair, and sat down without giving a response.

Ary nearly grinned at that. "That I do. Want me to-"

"No, and before you ask, no." Shadai said coolly without even looking at the female, already knowing what she was going to ask. Cody was used to her... unique personality and way of doing things. Ѐdes, however, was a guest and didn't deserve such rough housing.

Arytiss pouted and leaned back in her chair a bit. "Fine. Party pooper. Ick, they're cuddling again," she muttered, her usual irritable look returning. "When's dinner and what are we having?"

Cody, after being dropped, rushed back into the living room and over to Ѐdes side, checking to make sure he was alright. To his utmost astonishment, the toddler was still asleep. Granted, he had a scratch on his cheek, but he was still asleep. Well, guess he really was a child of sloth.

Slowly, Cody moved the toddler to the couch and placed a pillow underneath his head before running off to his room. Returning, he placed a rather worn looking blanket over him. Making sure he was comfortable, the child sat down on the recliner chair nearby and settled in it, waiting for his friend to awaken or for Noel to take him home.

Shadai nodded and stood, wandering into the living room and watching Cody cautiously. He was acting... Rather possessive of the toddler, which was rather strange and meant anything could happen. Possessions and Cody's feelings for them was a rather touchy subject. After all, unless given permission, the child was likely to snap and snarl or become rather violent towards anyone who dared touch what he claimed as "his".

Yet all Cody did was watch as Ѐdes was picked up and lightly kissed on the forehead. "Leaving so soon? He can sleep over!" he suggested, not exactly willing to let his friend leave without saying goodbye. Yet, by the look on Shadai's face he knew there was little he could do to keep the toddler any longer. Sighing, he looked rather defeated as he stood up. "Bye, then," he muttered, waving sadly to his friend and his guardian, almost as if he was never going to see them again.

Cody grinned and nodded, hugging the toddler tightly before releasing him and letting Noel pick him up. "Kay. Bye Ѐdes!" he called out as Noel carried his best friend out the door. Yes, he was sad that the toddler was leaving, but at least he was able to hug him and say goodbye.

Arytiss merely waved before returning to the kitchen. "Thank god. Now, I'll ask again. What in the hell are we having for dinner?"
