Tsubaki immediately turns to stare at Baikou, an audible "Ah!" escaping her lips as fascinated projections dart forth toward Baikou. Ah! A thing!
And Eiji, not exactly pleased with having a strange-smelling and scratchy THING draped over his face, continues to fuss. At Tsubaki's projection, he turns his attention to Baikou, but quickly loses interest as turning his head makes the veil scratch even more, not to mention whatever thing Tsubaki seems to be "Ah"ing at just isn't worth the time or effort.
Feh. stressed
At this, Melody lets out an "Ah!" of her own; the difference in projections is obvious, even to her. surprised

Baikou drops the ball back down as soon as she produces the desired reaction. Minor as this telekinesis is, Baikou doesn't have a talent for it, and it can get a bit tiring. sweatdrop
"Then using such a dampener might work... in theory," she says, making her way back to Melody, "... but the visor as it is isn't very comfortable for him," she says, frowning down at Eiji with sympathy and sending him light, comforting feelings.
"We could find an enchanter to replicate the material, then, but that might take some time..."

Baikou, now more intrigued than utterly flabbergasted, wonders what kind of world this not-quite-a-Silver-World is? And how would they be able to find a dampening screen there...
... and perhaps they should find an interesting diversion for the poor bored babies while they talk. sweatdrop

It's something of a long story, Melody explains; there's a portal in her father's house, actually, and it's really a nice place and while she was there for two months, she had a wonderful time! And now that she thinks about it, she really needs to find Jin again and thank him... her? For their hospitality!
At this, she continues to bounce the twins on her knees; Melody should have some stuffed ducks in the diaper bag if Baikou doesn't mind reaching for them...

"A portal, you say?" Baikou is intrigued -- does Melody think her father would let her inspect it? Even if it does not lead to the Silver World, that is her area of expertise, and she's dying to test it for similarities or dissimilarities to the Scholars' findings so far.
As she says this, she reaches into the bag and retrieves a duck, one for each hand, and holds them out to the twins, swaying her hands a little as she projects strings of playful thoughts towards them. Aaah~ what are these~?

Melody is certain her father wouldn't mind; he's been wanting to know exactly what it is as well, and while the chaos does answer his questions, he and Melody both think that he might not be asking the RIGHT questions, and neither of them know what those right questions are...
eek !!!!!, say both twins, little hands reaching out for the toys. What ARE those? Obviously, they must inspect these things! By tasting them!

Oooh, Baikou wonders what they are~ Feathery, swimming across the water, paddling with their little feet, going quack-quack -- not that the babies are old enough to absorb this information, but it seems to entertain Baikou as she continues to wiggle the plushies for them... ... ...

4laugh , say the babies, still grabbing for the ducks. Maybe they could help, perhaps, if they PUT THEM IN THEIR MOUTHS. blaugh
Melody nods absently, her encouraging thoughts toward the babies (Oooh, what ARE those? What does she have there?) trailing off. The Celestial Chaos, yes, yes. Though really, she admits, she and Daddy had always seen them more as glorified pets; a pair of sparklies that just happen to follow him around everywhere...

"... And he's not Hyouka?" she asks, to confirm -- not that she thinks he is, but Baikou needs to be careful not to assume.
She scoots forward in her chair to give the twins more access to the plushies, regarding Melody curiously. "So there can be different Chaos Sorcerers in different planes? ... Is it the same Chaos then, or a different one," she mumbles, now seeming to be talking to herself.

"Boyan," Melody answers, shaking her head. Melody doesn't know about this Hyouka, though Daddy mentioned him once or twice... From what Melody understands, Daddy and Hyouka are like... night and day. But she thinks he would be happy to meet Baikou; while he wasn't born on Gaia like Melody was, he still lived here since he was a tiny, tiny boy and Grandma June adopted him and then he met and married Mother and had Melody and her twin brother Tsuyoshi, and then Melody's Auntie Luna was born and then and then...
She goes on describing her convoluted family tree, as if to further illustrate just how fully rooted in Gaia her entire family is.
And the babies, now in reach of the duckies, promptly close their toothless mouths over them and begin drooling.
... Well. They don't taste very interesting. But the hands HOLDING the duckies, hmmmm... ninja

Baikou wonders if Hyouka's crimes are not something exaggerated...
But Melody's family sounds loving and wonderful, Baikou intones as she releases the ducks to the babies and... looking at her own hands and remembering handling the visor from gods-know-where, goes to wash them in the sink. "I would be honored to be able to meet them," she says cheerfully.
... By the way, "... How did you and Hitsuga become friends?" she wonders.

Melody perks up, her mood swinging from tired to bubbly and cheerful.
Melody met Hitsuga in the supermarket! She was buying vitamins and Hitsuga was looking at cereal, and he was the first Porcelain not from Gaia (who wasn't Great-Grandpa Setsutsu) that Melody had seen in years! So they talked and talked, and then Melody told Hitsuga who her father was and because Daddy had said or done something weird in front of Hitsuga (she can't really remember...), it startled him so much that he dropped his basket and Melody helped him pick it up and then they bonked heads and started laughing about it.
And he's Melody's first real friend in a very very long time! Sure she has her husband and she has her aunties and uncles, but she's never had a real friend she wasn't related to before...
Hitsuga's such a really good friend; Baikou's so lucky to have had him as a friend for so long! 4laugh
