They were left blank spaces by lazy fluffwriters and as a means for the more crazy fans to create innovative chapters with stories... Though I can imagine something unthinkable - a loyalist and chaotic legion finding they dont want to fight each other, and going renegade from both Imperium and Horus. Let the galaxy burn, we are going somewhere quiet to drink beer...

Sean King I have a really pesky Horus Heresy related question. In your opinion, what happened to the two missing Primarchs? From what I've pieced together from various books. Spoiler: Both were mutated or something similar. I remember reading about one with six arms or some such. Most of it was whispered things but essentially it boiled down to the two Primarchs and their legacy being purged. Part of the reason why Magnus wanted to correct the mutations his legion was having.

Let the galaxy burn, we are going somewhere quiet to drink beer... Not so much lazy but something all writers for GW are supposed to do: leave plot holes and empty spaces that can be filled at a later date. Sir Kyle Aziz Sean King I have a really pesky Horus Heresy related question. In your opinion, what happened to the two missing Primarchs? From what I've pieced together from various books. Part of the reason why Magnus wanted to correct the mutations his legion was having.Several novels and in particular, one novella, mention the two missing Primarchs. The short story the Lightning Tower in particular has Rogal Dorn reflect for a moment about his two dead brothers as he walks past the empty plinths where their statues should be. In the second Horus Heresy novel, when Horus is near-death and goes on a trip to all the places of importance he also comes across the secret laboratories where he and his brothers were created. He pauses at one of the two pods that contains one of two missing, sighing at the coming tragedy and waste of potential.

Official word from Alan is they are both dead, which has been nicely enforced in the novels mentioned in the two posts above. Unofficial GW statement is: "Hey fans, we know you all want to be that unique snowflake so here's your chance!"
This is as far as they are willing to fill in the blanks, some mysteries should remain.

"Break glass when in need of fluff questions" indeed. wink Lt. Brookman This is as far as they are willing to fill in the blanks, some mysteries should remain. Which seems to be the opposite of some of the authors and writers out there. I remember Jervis making a few statements a few years ago regarding some of the bigger mysteries of the hobby, instantly sucking the fun out of them. I still need to read the Grey Knights codex, if only because I want to see how it ties in with Garro's quest.

Garro is not directly mentioned amongst the first 8 grand masters, though it is extremely probable he is one - maybe even first supreme GM under name of Janus.

Well from what I've read in The first Heretic the Emperor had the two Primarchs "sanctioned", i.e. killed. Why? That is really the big question. As for Garro, from what I listened to in Legion of One, he is on a mission to recruit Space Marine of both loyal and traitor backgrounds for the Sigillite. Both Garro and Iacton Qruze have been recruited by Malcador and now wear "ghost grey" armor devoid of Legion markings, but if looked at in the right light you will see a stylized I, the personal sigil for Malcador the Sigillite.

"Chaos did it" was for a long time the joke answer to those questions, but after having the Horus Heresy slowly fleshed out it rings all too true.
As for "Janus" being Garro, it wouldn't surprise me. At first I thought of Malcador but seeing as he dies after sitting on the Golden Throne..

As for "Janus" being Garro, it wouldn't surprise me. At first I thought of Malcador but seeing as he dies after sitting on the Golden Throne.. Malcador supposedly was in charge of recruiting 8 first GMs of the GK, and first 4 inquisitor lords... He also moved entire Titan into warp for the duration of siege of Terra. Talk about most incredible hiding place... also reportedly next to his tomb on Titan there is terminus decree, hinted as the key to awakening Emperor from the golden throne - or ending his life support.

He has a tomb? I know for a fact that he turned to dust the moment he got off the Golden Throne, so immense were the powers coursing through it.

it seems the dust was gathered and interred on Titan in the deepest vaults... plus text speaks about terminus decree being stored in a room "said to contain his grave", so there is no definite 100% proof - not surprising after 10k years razz

I think there is some reference to them having failed or something, some one else who is more up to date than me can correct me on that.
