Aphrodite had already disappeared and was now walking along a human street. Time to begin playing with mortals.

Walking down that same street, Alis caught a glimpse of Aphrodite. (She had by now given up on that idiotic English class.) Alis smiled. She and Aphrodite had a somewhat friendly relationship, ever since Alis found out that was very fond of adjectives and love poetry. "Hey Aphrodite!" she called, going over to where the love goddess stood.

Aphrodtie had a friendly relationship with Alis, but she was not really in the mood for more literature discussions. She disappeared and re-appeared at a middle-school dance, where a 13-year-old girl was battling with confusion over her own beginnings into being a teenager and general drama. What Aphrodite was looking at was the boy moping after her. Friendship-catches-fire thing with children. So sweet. Aphrodite shifted the battling emotions a little bit, and the girl suddenly turned around to the boy with a different expression on her face. "Cute." said Aphrodite, "but remember to keep it PG. Until you're a little older." The music was so loud no-one heard her comment. She waved her hand, then disappeared again. Now off to the forges.

Artemis rolled her eyes but continued on her hunt for her twin brother. Maybe if she was lucky she wouldn't have to see Aphrodite or Alis again anytime soon.

Athena finished up reading her book and sighed as she got up and walked outside. She was annoyed at the world in general today, especially at Aphrodite. Except, she hadn't ran into Aphrodite today. Also, she was a bit annoyed at her usually favorite niece Alis, or rather, the English class that was bothering her so much. Otherwise, Alis would not be hanging around her, just begging to get herself into trouble with Aunt Artemis by jumping up and down singing "Conjunctions! Conjunctions!" Speaking of Artemis, there she was, a few feet away. Athena went over to talk.

((In case anybody got confused, I'm playing both Athena and Alis. You can play two characters also, if you ask politely!))

Artemis glanced up and smiled sympathetically when her older sister came over. " You alright Athena? You look a bit tired and annoyed. I'm currently trying to track down my wayward twin and I had to threaten your favorite niece because she wouldn't stop annoying me. I had her gagged and was taking her to her father to convince him we need to teach that child how to hunt. Out of all his children that I've interacted with Alis is the only one that doesn't know even the basics of hunting!" She then stopped and grinned sheepishly at her older sister. Athena loved Alis and probably didn't want to listen to Artemis's rants. " Sorry Athena."

Athena's face turned into a dangerously pleasant smile. "And I suppose you would be such a wonderful aunt and teach her? You do love her so much." Athena rolled her eyes and her face turned into sarcastic mode, and then into annoyed mode. "Mostly I'm annoyed at Aphrodite today. Even though I haven't seen her lately. When I last saw her, she was meddling with some middle schoolers that I liked. They were so intelligent, and so very good at debate club until Aphrodite made them go all goo-goo when they saw their boyfriend in the audience. Anyway, that's the story behind that grudge. Oh, and I think Apollo's finished up his bluegrass concert. I actually liked it, for once, though I preferred back a couple hundred years when he was on his Vivaldi kick."

Artemis groaned. " Well at least I won't be forced to listen to it. I never said I would be a wonderful Aunt and teacher that's your job. I just want to teach her the basics of hunting because she's the only one if my nieces and nephews that hasn't learned the basics. Even the kids I haven't met know the basics of hunting and Archery whereas Alis doesn't know even the first thing besides what she's read in books. Even you know how to hunt Athena. I just think Alis needs to learn. So which way did my favorite twin go? I'll find him and get out of your hair."

"I do know how to hunt!" Athena cried indignantly. "But I suppose that's besides the point. Apollo went that way" --Athena flung her arm to the left carelessly--"so now you can stop insulting me and Alis. Nobody likes rules, especially not in the way you're supposed to speak!" She walked off in a huff.

Artemis eyed her older sister like she was crazy. " I said you knew how to hunt Athena. You're also the goddess of War of course you know how to hunt. Alis is the only one that doesn't know the basics. Thanks for the information Athena." Artemis then sauntered down the hall in the direction Athena pointed because sauntering annoyed Athena and Apollo loved to help her annoy Athena.

Aphrodite had heard Athene's complaints about people she meddled with before. Oh, pooey, she thought about it. No one can all be pleased at the same time. It's so complicated. And then she'd give up and go indulge a silly whim.

While walking to the forges on Greece's mortal-filled streets, Aphrodite hummed to herself and sang in her mind.
Greensleeves was all my joy,
Greensleeves was my delight,
Greensleeves was my heart of--

she broke off suddenly. There, in the window of a mortal house. Aphrodite saw a love poem framed and hung up to show the world. Oh, that's so sweet! and she had yet another change of plans.

"Hello, Alis," said a blonde Aphrodite, bouncing lightly and gaily over to her neice. "You know, I saw the most wonderful poem in a window. Written by a mortal, I think. It was so sweet. The adjectives weren't anything out of the ordinary, but it was so nicely phrased."

Alis's face broke out into a grin. "Nicely phased poetry? Oh my Zeus! Where? Good poetry is so hard to find these days! It's a love poem, isn't it? Love poems are so pretty, especially sonnets. You've probably read Shakespeare, but he has the best sonnets! Ever! Such wonderful adjectives..." The rambling continued.

Artemis sighed as she continued to try to find her twin brother. She hadn't seen him in a while and for all she loved to tease him she also didn't like being away from him for long periods of time.

Aphrodite gleefully giggled at Alis's excitement. "Calm down!" she cried, "And of course it was love poetry! What other good kind is there?" She dreamily twirled around. "It was delightful. Hung in the window of a mortal, bless his heart I think he wrote it himself! It was so romantic," she said dramatically as she held her arms aloft in a ballerina pose.
