What.
Dax blinked and cleared his throat. A song? Jesus, did he know any songs? Not any recent, for sure. Besides like, nursery rhymes. So Dax sang, in his average drow voice, a sea shanty. Sorry, Nico, it was all he could think of!

There was clapping and cheering and obscene whistling from Tabitha. A couple of kids got up, laughing, to dance. Apparently they liked it! Nico leaped up and bowed.
And then?
"ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR"
It was Nadia, come from the curtain. The dancing kids suddenly stopped and Nico pretend-gasped.
"THE DRAGON!"

The fairy Princess gasped and held the little knight close. "Oh no! The Dragon!"

Nadia ran up and took the baby from Dax, jumping off the stage and weaving through the crowd, roaring. Nico ran after her, wielding his fist high and slashing at her with an invisible sword.
"BLARG!" Nadia yelled, laughing, and fell onto her back. Banji patted her face. Mommy? Mommy? You okay?
More clapping, more cheering, incredible laughter, and then it was over.
Nico would later regret that his aunt Tabitha had brought a video camera, but that would be much, much later...
