Reiga knows the answer already, but he asks the question anyway. He even does it with a smile.

"Would you be able to fix the picture, should it require fixing?" he asks, resisting the urge to put his hand to his forehead and grimace. So long as this wasn't going to cost much, the Porcelain supposes it would be alright.

Maybe. Stupid students...

Tam shrugged philosophically.

"I can get it working, and probably fix it up fairly well. Might still have some odd lines or spots, maybe a little discoloration, but overall it should work just fine. I could do the whole thing for, oh, the cost of lunch at a noodle house, say? Would you consider that a fair price?"

Tam allowed himself a moment to think about lunch. He sighed just a little contemplating it.

The Porcelain merchant's jaw drops. He doesn't even try to hide his surprise. The cost of lunch at a noodle house?

Reiga eyes the man suspiciously. "The whole job? All of it? For one lunch at a noodle house?" It doesn't seem like the man is lying or conning them in anyway...

He turns to Chourou and smiles, projecting that they seem to have found a repair man who is either crazy or desperate, or both. Reiga then mentions that Master Setsushi is about to get a new customer before turning back to Tam.

"Sir, you have a deal."

"Sure. It's not really a big job or anything. Honestly, if you wanted to take the time to find a manual and read it, you could probably figure it out yourselves. I'd feel bad to charge you more when all I'm really doing is cleaning and straightening it up a bit. So I guess I'll, uh, do that now."

Tam shrugged his pack off, laying it beside him. He pulled a few tools and a rag out, and set to work on the television.

As he worked, he let himself sink into the rhythm of it. Even though the job was simple, it was pleasing work. Most of his recent jobs had been cleaning and mortar or brick repairs, referrals from the first job he'd had in Barton. This tv required a bit of a delicate touch, meaning he had to focus more, and while his little projects were nice, it was good to have a task to complete instead of open-ended hobby work.
