Satine laughed a little and nodded. "Ok so come over her to the water. Take anything off you don't want to get wet though." she said with a smile as she walked into the shallow water. She tied her hair up and looked at him. "Then when you get in the water i'll hold your waist so that you don't sink or get scared. Then we'll work on getting your kicking right before you worry about your arm motions." She said with a smile.

Nyx took off her shoes and socks and she little cardigan. She didn't mind if the rest of her clothes got wet. She then tied her hair up too, the long white curly hair shining as she moved it. She slowly got into the water but not too far because of how short she was. She let Satine but her hands on her waist as she tried to float in the water. "Okay I start kicking now right?"

Satine nodded. "Try to keep your legs together and make tight small fast kicks." She said as she smiled. "Make sure your back stays straight and hold your arms out infront of you, it will help our balance for now. And just remember where your head is, cause when you start using your arms when swimming you'll need to remember where to move your head for breathing." She said with a smile.

Nyx slowly started kicking her legs and then tried to kick faster. She was a fast learned and had very good balance. "Like this?" she asked as she concentrated on her breathing. It was a lot of things to remember but she was slowly got the hang of it, kicking away with her little feet, glad that Satine was holding her up.

Satine smiled at her as she caught on very swiftly. "Yes very good!" she said as she watched her legs kick making sure she had it right. "Does it feel good?" she asked with a smile. "I'll move around a little so you get the feeling of moving in the water." she said with a smile as she took a step and turned to the side moving her through the water slowly so that she didn't get water in her face.

Nyx nodded eagerly. "Yeah this feels great. It feels a bit like floating." she said excitedly. She kicked her feet as fast as she could, grinning as Satine moved her around the small lake. She hadn't felt more free since she was born. Her fur clung to her skin as she swam but she just didn't care. She felt like she was flying, completely weightless. She didn't feel out of breath either, which was a big deal for her.

Satine smiled feeling happy to be helping out the young cat. "Ok lets add in arms. Its really easy, just moved them in a clawing motion infront and under you. Its called a 'Doggy paddle', but we can call it the 'kitty claw' if you like. It will help work your arms a little and give you more lift to hold your self. I'll keep holding you till you get it well enough. If you want to try with out my help let me know. I promise i won't let your face go under if it looks like you need help." She said with a smile.

Nyx giggled at the name of the swimming motion. "Hehe that's funny. I don't really mind calling it the doggy paddle but I don't really mind calling it the kitty claw either." she said as she started to do as she was told. It was quite difficult and tiring but she couldn't help but feel good. "Is this right?" she asked as she started to pant slightly at the effort.

Satine laughed at the kits words and nodded. "We'll stick with its real name, the other one kinda makes me giggle. And you are doing it right very good. You can slow down your legs and arms, just so you don't get too tired." She said not wanting something to happen to the kit. She didn't want to take her to Percy and tell her that it was her fault that the kit was tired...or worse...

Nyx shook her head, smiling as she did so. "No...I'm okay for the moment. I wont get any better at it if I take it easy all the time now will I?" she asked, grinning slightly and she continued to move her arms and legs rapidly. If her mother could she her now she knew that she would be very unhappy. There were far to many dangers for Nyx doing something as simple as swimming, in Persys eyes. But Nyx loved the thrill of disobeying her mother and actually getting to be a normal kitten for once.

Satine smiled a little. "Ok well then if you start to feel tired or anything then let me know and we'll take a break. I don't want to face your mother if something bad happens to you. Are you really enjoying it though? Does it feel good?" she asked with a smile as she moved about a little letting her feel the movement through the water.

Nyx nodded reluctently. "I promise to tell you when I get tired. I don't want to face mama if I get sick either. I'll probably be put in bubble wrap for the next month if I do." she said with a sarcastic sigh. "But yeah I love it! I feel so weightless. I think this is what it could be like to fly!" she said excitedly. She couldn't help but love this feeling. It was so freeing. The only feeling she liked more was when she was dancing.

Satine laughed a little as she talked about Percy. "That sounds like something she would do so lets not risk you being wrapped in bubble wrap. And i always liked to think of it as similar to flying as well. With out the great view." she said as she kept moving about for Nyx. "Let me know if you want to try with out my help." she said with a smile.

Nyx grinned. "But I'm sure if you got to swim in the sea you'd get a gread view of all the fishies!" She had read about the sea in a book her father had gotten her. She would love to see the sea one day. But that would have to wait for now. She shook her head slowling, her body finally getting tired. "No I think I'll wait to do it on my own next time if that's okay?" she asked, stopping her arms and legs. Her body couldn't take too much exercise. It just wouldn't do it.

Satine smiled at the kitten and nodded. "Sounds like a good idea. And i'm sure the sea would provide a great view!" she said as she watched the kitten. "Do you read alot? On the ocean?" she asked wondering what the kitten was interested in. She would like to learn to read better and teach her self more about writing. But mostly she wanted to know more about this very interesting little kitten.
