Shitshitshitshitshit.
The boy took a moment to look around him, and to call out the orbs and pull the shields back up. The flash of light, along with the girl's panic, might have been enough to alert... problems.
He aimed again, but she'd had the time to rise up again by then - making the small bolt of energy much more noticeable. Though, as it is, there wasn't really any other choice...
He shot again, hoping Mik would either catch her, or fly after her should he miss again.

The girl's flight was even more erratic now and the second shot was wider off the mark. Not used to being attacked, the girl screamed, covered her head and dropped several feet before she started flying, staying low to the ground this time.
The nearest guards were by a gate in the wall, past several buildings. While they could barely hear the screams, two flashes in the darkness were enough to get their attention. Two of them headed started towards the buildings while the other four remained at their post.

"Dammit!" Thanks to the shrieking, the scream, and the flashes of light, there didn't seem to be much point in going after the girl anymore - they were bound to have attracted attention by now, and pursuing her further would just waste time they probably didn't have.
"Nevermind, come on!" he told Sei, and started running for the nearest patch of trees.

Sei seemed to rather agree, and after sheathing the gun, darted after the angel, though this was when one flaw made it's way known.
Sei...
...was not an extremely fast runner, and in despite apparently giving his all, still wound up trailing quite a bit past Mik.
If he could only make it to the trees...

The girl didn't even notice they weren't coming after her and kept flying in panic. She spotted thetwo guards rushing towards her and started to babble at them. They couldn't make out what she was saying, but picked up their pace at the sight of her obvious distress.

It took awhile for Mik to realize that Sei wasn't right behind him; in fact, he didn't notice at all until he'd gotten to the trees, and turned around to look. Wh...why was he running so slowly?! Could he not run or something? He was bad enough at shooting, but seriously?
C'mon, c'mon...! He gestured frantically for the other Fa'e to hurry up.

Sei kept on running, and, thankfully enough, reached the trees soon enough, hopefully in time.

Once the guards reached the girl, it took some time to calm her down enough to get an explaination out of her. More so since kept insisting that her dress was singed from the light that almost hit her. Finally they got descriptions of the teens and a general direction.
But the girl was still panicked and demanded one of the guards escort her home. In fact she became quite loudly vocal about it until they had no choce. The other went on ahead after the Fa'e, coming out of the buildings just before Sei ducked into the trees. He saw the movement and headed in that direction.

Finally! Mik didn't have time to be relieved when Sei made it to the trees, much less to be snarky. He wasn't sure why the blonde was so damn slow, but they had to keep running despite it.
"Come on, we need to keep moving," he encouraged - but not without sounding frustrated - and ran west through the trees.

"I know, I know." He muttered, though tried to restrain from snapping at the small amount of frustration that had been in the other teen's voice. The last thing they needed was to start bickering over trivial s**t, especially since, so far, nothing seemed to be quite working out in his favor.
It wasn't like he was doing this on purpose !
The shields moved to protect their backs, just in case, and he followed the redhead deeper in the woods.

Even running, the guard was only half of the way to the trees. He was slowed down by having to go around ornamental statues and the pathway fences. Unlike the sonyo maidens, he couldn't fly over anything and had to go around or try to scramble over the fences.
As the teens headed through the trees, both bracelets began to glow faintly.

Mik was much too preoccuppied to notice that his bracelet was glowing...not that it mattered much anyway, considering they weren't at all ready to go back. They still had to find Seung somehow. For now, the angel just kept on running, slowing to wait for Sei when he had to.
As uncharitable as it was to think, he couldn't help but wonder if he'd have been better off coming on his own.

Sei did notice, but said nothing about it. They still had no idea where Seung was - even less where ready to come back with her.
As much as he really kind of wished he hadn't stopped by the HQ on his way home, he had promised they would return with the young girl... and did not plan to back out of this like a wuss.
He took a second to glance back - so far, it seemed, there was still, at the very least, enough distance that they could move and not be detected...

The guard reached the forests edge and shoved pine branches out of his way. He was starting to regret coming armed only with a spear; the long weapon would be hard to manuever in the woods. It was too late to head back however. A few steps in the dense forest and it was obvious the teens would be difficult to find in the dark. He stopped, listening for a clue to their direction.
