I don't care how much people know about me, as long as you can 'feel' the connection, and that you're really friends or family or whatever. Call me cliche, but for me it's the thought that counts. I'd rather have someone think, "Well... I want them to enjoy their gift, but I'm not quite sure what they'll enjoy, so I'll get them money that they can spend on something they'll enjoy." than "Well... I don't actually know what they like, but I'll just get them this and hope not to look bad."
I don't consider myself all too lucky. XD;; I'm still the black sheep of the family; I really feel like the gifts are more just obligations, since my family is a very gift-giving family. Not that close to my extended family at all though.

@KitsuneChan: Yeah, I know what you mean. ^-^;; My dad is the black sheep of his family (At least on his mom's side.) and since he's my dad, my siblings and I are as well. ._.;; It's like we go into the room and everyone goes "Look! >-> It's Fred's kids! -ignores-" >-< There are only a few people on that side of the family that are truely nice to us.

Wow, my dad's the same way. XD;; We go to see his family for Christmas and stuff, and they're all nice, but it's just like... be nice and talk for formality's sake. It also doesn't help that everyone on my dad's side of the family is filthy rich except for my dad...
My parents fit in just fine with my mom's family though; it's just me that's the black sheep with them. XD;;

I typed up a post, and then my stupid friend distracted me and I didn't post it. If anyone lives near Colorado, feel free to go and kill him.
Anyway. My grandparents made my aunt the black sheep because of something totally out of her control. And they tried to do the same to my sister. It's crap when families do that. Dx

@KitsuneChan: Yeah, I know what you mean! o-o When we go to the family reunions and Christmas parties, that's what happens to us. ._.; I'm not even sure why my dad's considered the "black sheep" though. o-O I think it has something to do with the fact that my dad and his family are southerners and he married a New Yorker? But it's such a stupid reason... ._.;;
My mom's the "black sheep" of her family too. ^-^;; I'm not sure why. All I know is that because she's the "black sheep", I don't know most of my family on that side. o-o
@Morgey: Dx That's totally unfair of them. I can't stand it when families nitpick like that. Especially when it's for no reason. >-<

My sister and I used to joke around and say that it was Yami no Bakura that lived in our attic. xD; So if food went missing from the fridge, we would blame it on him. XD;

Families are such a pain, really. It seems strange that almost everyone has obnoxious family members... are there really that many obnoxious people in the world? Why am I even asking? *sigh*

I know what you mean. ._.;; I'm always trying to convince myself that the average person isn't just an annoying animal (I'm such a positive-thinker.), but almost everyday someone does something that makes me want to re-evaluate my view. xP;;

Yeah... today this crappy driver in front of me was at a stop light and suddenly opened his door, spitting a CRAP LOAD of water into the street. I was just like... how could someone hold that much water in their mouth? And I was hoping he had drank some, then spit it out, rather than all of that being his saliva. O_o

I have a habit of expecting someone to be the best person ever, and then feeling incredibly disappointed in them when they turn out to be just human, which is...much worse. So now I have to consciously try not to expect anything of people. =P

Oh, that sucks. D: I guess I... generally put up with a lot, but at the same time, I think I'm pretty arrogant. Like I have to constantly remind myself that I'm not more intelligent or less annoying than other people, or things like that. Generally I'm very admiring of people I know well and get along with, but I always look down on strangers... -_-;;
