Wuu Inane Whimsies
I have to admit I can really feel 'the saddness of L' now, and it definitely isn't that he's gone. It's that his being gone caused people to loose interest in a good manga. One character isn't the whole manga. Sure L is my favorite character... and he would of been interesting on his own in any manga, but he isn't the only reason I started loving Death Note.
Allow me to sit back and admire those words for a second. I couldnt agree with you more. If people were truly fans of Deathnote, they would continue reading into the next stage after their favourite characters death. I dont understand how people can simply go 'OMG SO'n So's DEAD! I can't read this anymore...' and then just give up on a manga. Don't you want to see that character avenged? Don't you want to see if that characters work or goal is completed in some way? This is how I was with Eru. I can sympathize with those who feel its gets boring though. Deathnote lacks a wide variety of characters to get attached to. If you're mad about L chances are you're going to dislike Raito a fair bit. Sometimes the plot can be a bit slow as well if you're not heavily into this kind of manga too. But in Deathnote's defense! After L's death it is a bit slow since its establishing the next scene, characters and situation. After that its a wild goose chase again. I disagree about it moving slow... Really in comparison to other manga, like in Jump, it moves rather fast. I mean... when I look back I find it a bit hard to believe that a few things just happened a few chapters ago. Though, with Teru being introduced things did slow for a bit. Just as they did when Mello and Near were introduced.
Really though. I think things are moving at about the same speed as before.
We should be happy it isn't a manga full of fighting, then it'd really slow down ya know?

L is my favourite character... All I can hope for is the return of the eraser. It's okay Razu-chan.!~ *hugs* I was literally depressed for weeks (now thats sad). The only emotion you'd see from me was when I went on my Anti-Raito rants. It was a frothing disaster.

The only emotion you'd see from me was when I went on my Anti-Raito rants. It was a frothing disaster. Most active members in the guild, after L died... we all decided we should stab Raito in the crotch, basicaly <3

I would have wanted to do that as well.
What really possessed me to keep madly reading Deathnote after L died was my desire to see Raito either A) writhing in complete agony or B) just plain DEAD.
I still want to see him dead... but I also kinda like him a lot as well.

I like the manga.. and luv L.. but when he die, he die.. if light die.. so he die.. and the story end.. that's it.. but on the side note.. i kinda pity yagami's father.. it's less dramatic and less shocking when he die..look so unimportant.. sweatdrop

I was ok with Raito till l died
... But now i don't care any more... I'm making a AMV on the memory of L ^^ I'm going to animate alot of stuff to music it's going to be great!
anyway :3 L isn't for sure gone there is still fan-fiction.. and maybe he'll come back to haunt Raito
