We didn't really have 'chairs' in my middle school.
We had a lot of Clarinets, like 13 maybe, and there were 4 in the first row; 4 in the second row; and 5 in the third row.
So it was like this::
1st row - 1st clarinets
2nd row - 2nd clarinets [Me]
3rd row - third clairnet
((Does that even make sense. sweatdrop ))
And there were only 2 bass clarinets and I was one of them so yea.

First Bassoon in concert band.
Second Bassoon in Symphonic Orchestra.
Automatic first chair in Wind Ensemble next year.
(Is going to be the only Bassoon player there...)

well because i was in seventh grade going up to the 8th grade band(yes i got promoted to 8th grade band) i was last chair for a while.then i got second to last chair.then another secventh grader trumpet came to 8th grade band so i was ahead of her.so i ended up being 3rd to last chair.but next year imma be first trumpet XD

Not to sound cocky, but I was first-chair in all the bands in my high-school (save for Concert band) during my Junior year. During my Senior year, I was no longer in Jazz band due to schedule issues, so... Personally, I don't see how I got to be first chair. I guess I'm technically good, but... I know I won't be first chair in college without a little bit of work.

Sadly, I was kicked back into last chair because my stupid 6th grade band teacher didn't give the three(yes, there were three of us in Concert Band in 6th grade. Everyone either quit or got kicked out. There was only me, the lone Alto Sax, a Trumpet, and a Drummer. The music was so empty...) of us the 'chair-position' test. So I was last chair throughout 7th grade. Honestly, I didn't quite care what chair position I was in. Being the only Bari Sax in Concert Band -- scratch that, the entire school -- I had my own little 'section', as I called it. But I still had to take my 'chair challenges' and whatnot, but my position only went up one.
I'll be going into Symphonic Band next year, and I completely forgot what chair I will be in. Again, I don't quite care. As long as I'm in band, and I'm in a chair, I'll be fine.

Second chair Flute in the Wind Ensemble. Last year I was 4th chair in the Wind Ensemble. And next year I'll be second chair bassoon in the Wind Ensemble since we need two.
: D I moved all the way up from The Concert Band.
It's find of funny. Last year I was a sophomore and we out numbered the seniors and juniors in what should be the Senior Band. The only Senior flute player was horrible and made the last band almost last chair. razz
Haha she hated me because I was section leader.

ya im going onto ninth and im second chair clarinet. the first iz a senior this year. but for 09' marching season im playing baritone and im 3rd chair
YA THATS RIGHT CLARINET/BARITONE its because im ninja like that

um, now in Jazz Band this year.
last year(well not really last year, i mean last grade...yeah) there were three tenor saxes. now matt-one of the old tenors-is playing bari. now its just warren and i. (warren is another tenor player. obviously. sorry sweatdrop )
so matt is now first chair, since the eighth grader bari player is gone. im pretty sure warren is second chair. im not exactly sure. so i will either be second or third chair. :3

This past school year I was 3rd chair(1st was a Drum Major & 2nd was an 8th grader), so technically I was 1st chair out of my grade.

well, im in advance class and im on 1st chair but wen im in regular class im on 3rd but im in advance so i think im on 1st but i hav NO idea wat chair i am...but i wish im on concert or symphonic next year...
