Cody merely grinned as Espen found his dad and dragged him over. In his mind, he was mapping out a way to get to Shadai without getting himself lost. He had to go down about ten aisles and over two to get near her and from there he would just have to figure out which direction she went and go from there.
"Hm? No help, can find by self. Not far and mummy used to me running off. Says I can't help it," he replied, grabbing the golden frame he had set down earlier after setting the feather Espen had given him on top of it. It was really pretty and glowed softly in the store light. Not to mention it matched the frame rather well.
"Can follow if yew want. Not far," he added as he began to toddle off, the map of the store clear in his mind. Turning down into the main aisle, he began to count the shelves as they went by. As he got to ten, he turned and nearly ran into a pair of brownish legs.
"CODY! Oh god, don't you EVER run off like that ever again!" Shadai gasped, kneeling down to hug the toddler tightly. "You hear me? Do that again and I'll get you one of those child leashes. I'm tired of you running off like that. It's not funny or cute or whatever," she scolded, giving him a rather stern look.
"B-but... Mummy, Espen show me pretty frame for feathers! Den we got lost... No mean to make you sad," Cody replied softly, looking rather upset about the whole thing. "Ooh! Espen new friend. Met him while looking at stuff. See?" he gasped, cheering up rather quickly and nodding towards the other toddler and his father down the main aisle with a large grin on his face. "Gave me white feather too!"
Shadai raised an eyebrow and stood, looking down and noticing Shane and Espen farther down. She recognized Espen slightly from earlier when he had peeked down the aisle she had been in before running off to the other end of the store. "I see..."

Shane would've followed Espen, but he decided that this would be a good lesson for Espen to take responsibility for his own actions. He'd be a little bit behind him for moral support or in case he said something stupid. He gave Espen a little encouraging push towards Cody's mom.
Espen approached the lady, with a shameful look on his face.
"Sowwy," he apologized. "Jus think data fwame's bettah dena box. Dina-meenta take 'im."

Shadai smiled and nodded. "Apology accepted, and it's ok. You two didn't mean to go running off, I understand," she replied, gently ruffling Espen's hair. He was just too cute to stay mad at, especially since they were both toddlers and hadn't meant to go wandering off and not remember how to get back.
Cody allowed his mother to take the semi-heavy frame from him to carry instead, glad he didn't have to anymore. "Visit me soon?" he asked Espen, a hopeful look on his face. He hoped they could meet up again later; it was really fun wandering around with the toddler, even IF they had been lost the entire time.
Shadai giggled at Cody's question, pulling out a piece of paper the size of a sticky note and handed it to Espen. "Here; tell your dad to call me if you two want to play again," she added, extremely glad Cody had made another friend on his little adventure.

Upon seeing that Espen did as he was told, Shane came up behind Espen as he turned around to give him a phone number, that he could only guess was for their house and not for a defense lawyer.
"Here, let me give you mine too," he said and reached into his wallet and pulled out an old buisness card and wrote his home number on the back. "Don't bother with the actual number on that thing by the way, I don't work there anymore."
Shane then turned to face Espen
"We'd better get back to the cart," he said "and you're going to sit in it and not wander off again okay. I'm almost finished anyways, just gotta get some wallpaper for your room. You don't want to be living in a pink room forever." Shane teased, attempting to embarass Espen. It worked, his eyes grew wide and he blushed.
"Daad!" he whined, hiding himself from Cody and starting to drag Shane in the opposite direction
"Hahaha...too easy. We'll be in touch." Shane chortled as he began to walk away. Then turned his head to mouth to Cody with a wink and point at Espen Totally pink! before quickly disapearing down the aisle.

Shadai giggled softly at Espen's embarrassment about his room being pink. She didn't see how it was so bad, since Cody's hair was a shade of the offensive color. Then again, he didn't exactly love the color either...
Cody laughed, finding the mere thought of Espen having a bright pink room extremely hilarious. At least he didn't have to live with pink hair. "C'mon mum, less go buy stuff 'n head home," he said, tugging on Shadai skirt gently before toddling off in the opposite direction.
"The registers are this way, dear," Shadai giggled, leading Cody down the aisle to another main walkway and to the front of the store.
