(( I'm not realy sure what's going to come of this, but I'm goign to try and get back in touch with this side of myself and see where just writing Espen goes.))

Small writing exercise 1: In my voice

"Hey little monster," I nudged Espen who had fallen asleep in front of the TV again "Don't you think it's time to be going to bed?"

"Nuh-uh" he said "T'still early."

"Oh really?" I said in disbelief "You're not tired at all?"

I was met with no response, and so I woke him up again.

"Huh, wah? Uhh...still early." he said again before promptly passing out for the second time.

Well, this was going to take a bit of work then. I decided that it was time I simply carried Espen up to his room, and slowly propped his clawed arm up on my shoulder and walked his half-sleeping form up the stairs.

Small writing exercise 2: In Espen's voice

Vegitables taste really bad. I dunno why people like dad eat them, when there are so many better things to eat, like chocolate! Chocolate can be good for you, just like vegitables, and nothing that tastes bad can be that bad for you either. If vegitables were so good for you, why do they taste so bad? Ever tried putting chocolate on broccoli? Or sugar on corn? Ew! Yuck! Bleh! Even something yummy can't make something as bad as vegetables taste good. Fruits are okay though I guess, because chocolate works good with them sometimes.

The weird thing is with potatoes and tomatoes. I dunno what they are, but dad says a tomato is a fruit, even though it tastes yucky like a vegetable, except for on a pizza! Broccoli still tastes bad on pizza though, so maybe it's just something special about tomatoes I guess. Same with potatoes, they're bad to eat alone, but if it wasn't for them I wouldn't have fries or chips...and I guess corn too with popcorn though dad keeps saying that they're kinda different. I dunno, but maybe there's something about vegetables that aren't that bad, and that people just don't know what to do to make them tasty yet.

Dad decided that it would be a fun idea to take us out to a hotel as a little holiday. There was a parade in the city as part of a summer festival, so we stayed a day overnight to see both the parade and the festival. At the parade, dad didn't let me sit on his shoulders, that made me pretty sad. He said that Miles was the one that needed to see higher, so I had to push through a bunch of other people to have them get out of my way. I was able to get to the front though and see everything much better than everyone else. There were people dressed up in soooo many pretty colors and with big fancy hats with feathers! The ladies were pretty too! There also were these big garbage cans people were playing on too that dad said later were steel drums. I really liked how they sounded, I didn't know metal could sound so happy! Afterwards we went and got some candy apples, which were pretty tasty, but I only ate one bite of each part with candy on it.

At the hotel I got my own huge bed and Miles slept in this big bathtub with a jacuzzi. He really liked it. There was also this huge window that I looked out of and saw a bunch of lights in the city as well as fireworks that dad said were part of the festival too, but he said there were going to be bigger ones tomorrow. It's very pretty in the city with all those lights, but dad says that it's just noisy and distracting and that I shouldn't get used to it. He also says that you can't see stars, which makes me a little sad, but the lights look like the stars came to me on the ground. We also ate a big dinner at a buffet where I could eat anything I wanted! There was so much that I felt a little sick after I was done, but it was really tasty! I also had two bowls full of ice cream. I also tried this piano that they had there, but dad said I was just making noise. It was really big though, I think I want to try it again....
