SuiZ ((Finally! I've been checking on this thing since Sunday! biggrin ))((I've been busy since sunday xp )) SuiZ "You a cop or something? Lishen, I wants no problems with you people. Girl you looking for? Climbed the stairs of the Rennard Apartment Complex ova there. Looked like she was in a hurry too." I made a pause "Just...just give me the money and I'll go get myself something to eat...and a shower! You guys love showers! No need for a job. No one here's looking for responsibilities. Honest!" Sammuel ~Parson's Avenue. Back Alley~ Sammuel shook his head. "Thanks, but I'd much rather get you something to eat. You could wait here, if you've really got nothing better to do, or I could call some one to pick you up and take you any where you want, pay for anything you want to eat." Sammuel was still considering just giving him the money, but he also knew that some street bums would use money to buy drugs or alcohol, not the food that they needed. He wasn't sure that he cared, but he also knew that he was circumventing some of the usual ways of treating witnesses. He didn't want to waste too much time by taking a "statement," but he also didn't want to let his closest witness go. How pathetic was that, that this bum was his closest witness? Maybe, if the guy wasn't lying, he could go up those stairs and find him himself, and then the bum wouldn't matter. But if he didn't find her, this guy might still know where she lived. But so might the people inside the apartment. He wasn't exactly suspicious of the bum, he just didn't want to ******** up just because his more experienced partner wasn't there. The question he put to the man at least let Sammuel study his appearance better, in case he ran into him later.

Luca: ~Parsons's Avenue. Back Alley.~
"Thanks, but I'd much rather get you something to eat. You could wait here, if you've really got nothing better to do, or I could call some one to pick you up and take you any where you want, pay for anything you want to eat."
Ah well...back to stealing, I gather...but that means I'll have to be far away from this cop infested area.
And I REEEEAAAALLLY want to go find out what the fuss about that chick is all about.
Besides, I was beginning to enjoy messing with this guy...
"Right right. You do that. Go back to your fancy...er...smashed up hotrod ova there and call for someone to come pick me up and buy me soup. Mobilize a government underpaid and overworked soul for it. Waste tax payer dollars. Betcha that lets you sleep at night real well.
OOOOOrrrr. You could just say 'screw it'. Give me the money and trust I'll make good use of it. And then MAYBE you won't have to walk back to the car, endure a sermon that your friendly-faced purdner ova there will definately give ya, ask for someone to come pick me up and THEN go back to looking for the freak"
I extended my hand to him...hoping for some quick cash...
Did I just call that girl a freak? Sloppy move Luca, you're not supposed to know she's a Celestial.
I was getting rather impatient too. Why, with the hunger, the curiosity, and the "by-the-book" rules and regulations...oh well...
...wait a minute...is he bloody analyzing me?

((Interesting Rping style, SuiZ. Entirely first-person?))
Deirdre: ~Isis HQ, North District~
"Right."
Nodding briskily, Deirdre and Korin walked down quickly to Mizumi's office. There they found her, a little visibly out of it, but at least conscious at the present time.
Deidre knew she had been unconscious because of the red imprint on her forehead, where, she guessed, she'd struck the desk. So she smiled a little sympathetically. "You really came through for us. You feeling okay?" With a great sigh, she deposited herself in a nearby chair. Resting was the most glorious thing in the world at that moment.
Hiram: ~Police Car, Outside Back Alley, Parson's Street, East District~
His eyes were really starting to hurt like hell, and he was starting to suspect that bright flash that girl - the one he'd accidentally run over - had everything to do with it. But he couldn't handle that right now, and besides, it looked like the fellow was waking up. While he wasn't dying, he decided (for who knew what she'd done to him), he might as well seize the opportunity to do his job.
"Scouting out some Celestials to do your dirty work?" He began, scowling at him from the front seat. "I've got the usual offer they make mandatory. Give me some information, some good information, and we'll let you go free and protect your traitor skin from your buddies."
Somehow, a cigar found its way into his hand. As long as he could, he might as well also enjoy the finest smoke this city could offer. With every passing second, the man's outline was becoming blurrier - his eyes were tearing, and he thought for a moment that it didn't look like he was crying. That would be bad.

((Well, I can only report what Luca sees with his own eyes really.
Which is why you'll see there's a lot of incoherences (Like, AGSA are not exactly cops, but Luca doesn't know this).
I'm learning as I go too. So I'll see what happens when I hit a continuity roadblock.))

Sammuel: ~Parsons's Avenue. Back Alley.~
"Oh, no," he said in a pleasant voice. "I've got a phone right here." He slipped the cellphone from his pocket. "If you want a meal, wait here." With that he started walking away. He didn't like the guy, and he was going to give the police officer on the other end a good description of him. "Thanks!" he called back as he dialed the number and headed for the stairs.
The guy seemed edgy, and in Sammuel's mind no one should be edgy, ever. He hadn't met too many people on the street yet, but he figured if the man was really hungry he'd stay put.

Luca: ~Parson's Avenue. Back Alley~
"Oh, no,I've got a phone right here."
Smart-a** cop. You've said too much, Luca.
"If you want a meal, wait here. Thanks!"
And all I wanted was to say "Aaaaaaaactually" and turn around and vanish...now vanishing is something I CAN do, just not something coppers find to their liking. I waited.
Course maybe I should've just kept my mouth shut. Well...he can't force you to take a meal.
"Bleh. I guess I won't be buying alcohol today! Why, with the money you didn't give me...See you around officer!" I made an awkward military salute to him, as if drunk...and walked away
I walked away clumsily. Turning my attention to the smashed car, the other cop and the...girl who was already gone? Damn these celestials and their sneakiness...
Hmmmm...a guy inside the cop car eh? Beng taken in for custody I take it....interesting, seeing as how the only thing he did was stand there, look confused and get violently soaked.
Yes, yes...inconspicuosly walking towards the car...nothing to see here...just a bum walking nowhere...
Maybe we could try whistling a bit too....

Sazuko: ~Lena Drive. Sunny Hotel~
Sazuko wiped her eyes. She looked around her room. It was trashed. Papers everywhere, knives hidden behind clothes. Everything an assaian needed, not to mention Celestial powers. Sunny Hotel. Where the winds glide past you, as they say here. Well, tornado is more like it. Trash everywhere. The aging and peeling of wallpaper. Sunny didn't even come close to it.
She couldn't even afford a better place. Nobody needed an assasain anymore. It was 'out of style'. Only corrupt people who wanted to kill Celestials needed her, but...Who'd want a girl to kill someone. Girls were weak. If only they knew...
Knock knock knock. Sazuko looked up at the sounds of knocking at her door. She sighed.
"It better not be those nosy celestials again," she muttered under her breath...

Mizumi: ~Isis HQ~
Mizumi smiled when she saw her friends were in her office, safe and sound.
"You really came through for us. You feeling okay?" Dierdre asked as she sat down in a nearby chair.
"I'll be okay," Mizumi replied, truthfully. Her recovery times had always been incredibly rapid, at least in a Celestial sense. The small bump on her head from where she had hit the blunt end of the desk would probably bruise for weeks, however. "I misjudged the distance and how well that nut was screwed into the hydrant. I'm just glad I did it in time."
Even as she pulled herself into her chair, her mind was reeling with possibilities. "What's our next move? Do we go after the target?" As she began to formulate plans for all possible courses of action, she remembered something from when she had been flowing with the water of the hydrant.
"Did I hit someone?"
Duncan: ~Back of Hiram's car~
Even though he was in pain, Duncan's acting abilities were always in play.
"Dude!" he began, his voice sounding very much like a not-too-smart teenager. "What the hell happened, man? One minute I'm just standin' there, and now I'm-" he was inturuppted by a bout of real pain, "ooooh. I'm in the back of a freakin cop car! And why am I wet, dude?" Being handcuffed was really not helping the soreness in his muscles right now, but even that wouldn't distract him from his task.
"Hey, ain't them cele-whatevers exstinct or somthin'?" he asked as the AGSA agent's words sunk in. Traitor skin? Protect him? If he hadn't known better, he would've thought the guy was actually a cop! He saw the man's eyes getting bleary, and wondered if this would provide an escape opportunity. Or it could, rather, if only the pain would recede. It seemed like slowly, the pounding in his head was turning into something he could manage, but it might be a while before he was up to the task of actually escaping.

Sammuel ~Lena Drive. Sunny Hotel~
He felt stupid. After checking out a room quite near the stairs, he had found the lobby instead and questioned the manager and the guy at the front desk. He said that he was a cop and that the girl was a witness in a case. No he would not be arresting her, he answered to their friendly questions. If any of them were Susaku's friends, they might have tried to warn her, but Sammuel got the information he needed and headed straight for her room. He had actually looked through their collection of copies of driver's licenses. Even if Susaku's was faked it would by necessity have to have her picture on it, and Sammuel could pick that out.
Now he was knocking on her door. He didn't say anything yet because he didn't want to scare her off. He looked to see if there was a peep hole in the door, and if she didn't answer soon he might check to see if the door was locked.

Deirdre: ~Isis HQ~
"Um..." Deirdre looked uneasily over towards Korin. "Did...well, there was that guy."
She spread her hands in an apologetic manner. "I'm sorry, I'm not sure. Everything was so chaotic. You shouldn't feel too guilty, though. If you did hit him, he wasn't Celestial or anything. He shouldn't be in any danger. Although...well..."
I don't want to send her into any more of a guilt trip than she's in already, but there was no sane reason for him to be standing there watching us like that. He did seem to know something about Celestials, at the very least.
Hiram: ~Car, Parson's Street~
Hiram sighed, decidedly fooled. "Well, dude," He finally managed to respond, "I'd say you got yourself into a lot of trouble. They're definitely not extinct, though they plan to make us extinct. Just a minute."
How could he have forgotten? He'd never liked cellphones much, it was a way for his wife to keep tabs on him, but in this situation they were incredibly useful. His eyes wouldn't last much longer - he had a fair idea what that cursed girl had done to him - and he had to get to HQ before everything fell apart. And he had to inform Samuel to find a ride himself, if necessary.
So quickly, he dialed the number: "Come on Samuel, pick up..."

Sazuko: ~Lena Drive. Sunny Hotel~
Sazuko sighed. "******** off," she yelled at the door, then fell face flat on the door again. The knocking proceeded. She rolled her eyes. Maybe it wasn't the celestials, maybe it was the inn keeper waiting for her bill....Sazuko sighed. Or maybe it wasn't....Either way, it was rude to keep a 'guest' waiting...But when did Sazuko care?
She dragged herself quietly to the door. Not even opening it up, she yelled at it again.
"What do you want?"

Korin ~Isis HQ, MIzumi's Office~
Korin listened carefully to Deirdre, and tried to add to her her confused explanation. "Yes, that guy. I didn't see much of him...I was a tad upset at the time..." She smiled innocently and ran her fingers through her hair. "You did do a fine job of getting everyone absolutely drenched, however." She shot a jokingly accusing glance at Mizumi.
She leaned back and watched the screensaver on Mizumi's compuer for awhile. She let her eyes browse over Mizumi's visage, and noticed the protuberance. "Good Lord..!" she said. "Are you trying to grow a watermelon under there!? Lemme see that." She stood up and grabbed Mizumi's head, moving her hair aside to see the injury. She whistled and put her hand over it, and closed her eyes. "Minimal damage!" she excaimed happily. She lifted her hand and the bump had disappeared. "It'll still hurt until morning..." she explained, sitting down. "But it'll be peachy after that." "Anyway. I want to find that son-of-a-crap-face that hit me with that damn car! And that spasmic celestial girl. Where do we start?" she asked, putting her elbows on the table.

Samuel ~Lena Drive. Sunny Hotel~
"I need to talk to you," he said matter of factly just as his phone began to ring. He saw it was Hiram and text messaged back instead of really picking it up:
busy, leave message
It was like an AIM away message on speed dial. He set the phone to vibrate. "Before some one else finds their way here and decides the world would be better off without you," he explained to the stubborn girl on the other end.
