Laaate, late, late. Jiriar had to sigh to himself even as he ducked into the place where he could see the small crowd of sorts, eyes flicking over familiar faces though nothing really registered in his mind. Long limbs shook themselves free of sleeping stiffness, and the brunette ran a hand through rumpled locks while his jaws ached from suppressing a yawn. This was that klah contest that... shards, what was his name--Sovann!--had talked to him about. He could always appreciate a good cup of klah. He'd already slept through his chores, what could another bit of slacking off hurt? He faintly registered the sound of off-tune singing, chuckling under his breath though he was a little too groggy to look around and pin who it was.
The first cup was enough to earn a low mutter of appreciation out of him, a brow quirking appreciatively at the strength of flavor. It was enough to wake him right up, rolling the taste around thoughtfully in his mouth for a moment. Strong, yes, but very good... The second was next, and Jiriar wasn't sure how he liked the thickness in comparison to the first, the taste not something he could easily pin and therefore make up his mind about. Interesting, to say the least. And the third... He could appreciate the bitterness, though the wisps of flavor he could detect underneath made him crave for just a little bit--well, more.
"Well, you all can make a good cup of klah, that's for sure." He'd announce after a moment with a grin, rolling his stone between his fingers for a moment. "...But the first has my vote." And so the stone would be dropped in, leaving the man to stretch a little before he decided whether or not he'd stagger out again. Suppose it depended on his current company.

"Well, if you're less busy now, then it's the right time, isn't it?" Grinning and clapping his friend on the shoulder, Okassis gave Sovann one last bit of advice - "Just don't drink any of the klah first, and you'll be fine" - before turning his attention back to klah-serving.
There were a few people hanging about; thinking of what Nandeli had done, getting comments from the tasters to draw in more curiosity, he set his sights on S'kagi and grinned. "So, what'd you think? Which one is the best wake-up cup?"

Kiriwar grinned when Nandeli introduced him, bowing his head playfully, before making his way over to the klah, sniffing lightly. Mm, there were so many interesting aromas... Slowly, he sampled each, trying the various flavors out carefully, savoring -- he was a damn good Taster, if he did say so himself, so he knew what he was doing. Finally, he decided, dropping a pebble into the bowl for the first pot of klah. "Definitely my choice," he said, stepping back and then moving to mingle, making his way over to Nandeli and grinning at her. "How's it going?"

Assuming he wanted to be kissed. No, that could definitely wait. Maybe if he tried being social, or something, he could avoid any unpleasantness brought on by Okassis' crazy words. It was about then that it registered that one of the taste-testers was familiar. Oh wait, that was Jiriar, wasn't it? The tall lad that Sovann had met down by the lake? He'd seemed nice enough at the time... maybe if he kept him company he could avoid being involved in another of Kas' crazy schemes. "Hey Jiriar... that's your name, right? I didn't misremember it?" He crossed over to the candidate with some relief, pleased to have found a distraction. "So, what did you think? Too strong? Not enough spice?" Oh, he had already said they could make a good cup of klah, but Sovann wanted specifics.

Tough question from Okassis, S'kagi had to admit, and he chewed the scared part of his lip thoughtfully and fiercely before answering. "Mm. It was a tough call. Third for just waking up, the first if you actually wanted to sit down and enjoy it." He admitted. "I mean the first one tastes stronger, but it really calls for a little more thought. Sort of the difference in eating because you're starving and eating because you want something you can really appreciate." He shrugged faintly, eyeing Okassis. "Which one was yours?"

What was this? Judging by the angry words that were being exchanged between Okassis and Sovann, something was the matter with the Trader's original request. Could it be? This Sovann fellow had never been kissed by a girl? Oh how scandalous! If she could get C'ym to blush just by kissing his cheek (and she was sure he had at least spent some quality time with a girl or two) then she could totally get Sovann's whole body to turn red! If only she had the time now. But, alas, it would have to wait until the klah off was over. In the mean time she would have to keep her eye out for the girls.
Nan watched as Kiriwar tested all of the klah, grinning widely when he came over to see her. "So far so good! We're certainly attracting a lot of attention!" A lot of male attention, in fact. Perhaps she should make Okassis get up and dance. Maybe that would attract a few more females. Or he could always take his shirt off... she would have to consider her options carefully. But first, there was Kiriwar. "You liked the first one, huh? Anything particular about it that caught your attention?"

"Ah! Just the man I wanted to see." He had to chuckle a little as the other hurried over, nodding slightly. "That'd be it. And Sovann, mm? All three were good in their own ways, was a hard pick. Had a little unique somethin' to each of them." He practically cringed as he saw S'kagi, and even he was able to recognize the bronze rider. Coughing a little, he snatched Sovann by the arm and hauled him off and away, not going to risk being caught. "Skipped my chores today," He muttered by means of apology, jerking his chin towards the older man. "So? Bet you can't tell me which is yours, eh?"

Blinking, Sovann allowed himself to be dragged off. ... Actually, it was kind of a relief to be hauled off like that. "Hemm... well, actually, mine was the terrible one. We were sort of experimenting with it, you know. Didn't have nearly as much bark, and everything. I actually brewed it, but Okassis added the extra kick." Which was as true as anything. "If you have any idea which one mine was from that description, then you're one up on me." He hadn't tried the other klah, so he couldn't be sure that they didn't taste similar. The smells all blended together eventually, so it was a little difficult to distinguish between them from a distance.

"Now, that'd be tellin', wouldn't it?" Okassis chuckled, grinning. If he told S'kagi, who knew who else might find out - and while he didn't necessarily distrust the bronzerider, he wasn't going to hand out information freely, either! (And besides, why would the Trader admit to having the klah not worth remarking on?)

"None of them were terrible." He interjected with a lazy wave of his hand. "M'just impressed you made it. I'd scoop up a cup of mud and call it done." He chuckled, though still had to muse over it. Well... No, he couldn't clearly say he knew which was Sovann's. "Can't not enjoy a contest with klah, like I said. And you got quite a turn out! I'm impressed, sir, very much so." He'd grin a bit more broadly at the man, nudging him with a shoulder.

Kiriwar smiled happily as he relaxed beside Nandeli, looking around the group, before humming thoughtfully. "I definitely have to say that it was the flavor. There was a lot to it, and I... am quite big on flavor. Did you pick a favorite yet, or are you remaining neutral?" he asked, peering down at her with a broad smile.

The girl came back out of the kitchen adjusting her sleeves and smoothing down her front. Nothing out of the ordinary. She smiled at those she passed as she normally would have done. Smoothly and with out missing a beat she headed towards the table where the Klah event was happening. She was about to make this ordinary event extrodinary. Nothing like a little spice to set things in motion.
She chuckled to herself as she thought about it, spice wasnt exactly the correct phrase for what she had in mind.
Approching the table the girl placed her hand on her chin, making a show of observing the Klah set before her before moving to pour herself a cup from one of the containers. Warm klah suddenly seemed to be going everywhere!
She gave a yelp, empty cups tipped over and the entire tabled shook as learched trying to get her arm away from the warm klah. It wasnt enough to burn but it was warm enough to start! Clumbsy Nelioa, nothing new there. No one would have noticed the fish oil pouring into the third vessle in all of the chaos. It had been carefully hidden in her sleeve and as she had flailed her arms about she had tipped it just so, and down went a dollop of fresh fish oil into the warm Klah.
"Oh I'm sorry, so sorry. " her cheeks flushed red and she bit down on her bottom lip. She tried to set the cups right and only ended up tipping more over. Finally she calmed herself and flashed a smile. "I...I just wanted to try some." she fetched a cup and more carefully this time reached for a container and poured herself a nice fresh cup. Little knowing that was the one she had just tainted. In all the mayhem they had gotten switched around in her mind.
"Thank you.." she said flashing another smile as she took her cup and sipped it.

Sovann couldn't help but grin. Now there was something he liked to hear. "Well, thank you. I think you're praising me a little too highly, but then again, I could use some of that with the day I've had." And oh, what a day. Okassis needed to settle down, scorch it. He really, really did. Not that he would. Oh no. Sovann knew his friend entirely too well to believe that for a moment. "So you skipped some chores today, huh? I think I remember promising this as a way out of chores, so that's fair, isn't it?" He grinned, nudging Jiriar back with his own shoulder. As distracted as he was, he didn't quite notice all of the commotion over by the klah table.

Looking away from the conversation, Okassis swore and assisted in trying to rearrange the mess that Nelioa had made. "Bit of a stumble, huh?" he commented, managing to sop up the most of the spilled klah with a rag. He certainly didn't seem to have noticed anything amiss about the situation, but that could have something to do with the smirk he was wearing, watching Nelioa take a drink, then glancing over to Sovann and grinning at Nandeli....

"Oh? Well, I can't imagine it'd be so bad, with a contest of sorts! I'll take your word for it though..." Jiriar chuckled at the other's words with a curt not. "So you did! Which means, of course, I can blame you and try to sidle out of anything that happens." He was teasing, of course, but there was a crazy amount of commotion without warning, make him pause and peer over at the source with a bit of confusion. "Shards, what's all that?"
