I joined because I heard that I could get my grade 10 credits early because I qualified for Grade10 Advanced Band next year.
I'm going into grade 9 next year.

Nenianos I play in band because I just LOVE that feeling you get in your stomach when everyone plays together, and it sounds so fantastic that you get butterflies and you feel like you're on top of the world.
That and I generally enjoy it and love the people. same here 3nodding

Because I love music with all my heart and soul! I want to major in musical performance and education when I go to college so someday I can be a band teacher ^^ Without band, my life would be dull dull DULL!

I first started playing because it's a huge family tradition to be in music. After awhile, I started to enjoy it more and more with every month that I was in it. It's been four years since I've joined band, and I've just started marching band in June. I get this feeling, it's hard to explain, it's like even though the people in our band come from many different backgrounds and have different life choices, we all come together to create something beautiful and inspiring. I'm now starting to seriously consider trying out for the Navy band, and even if I don't make it in, I'm still going to try to get a degree in music. I want to teach young people that yes, you can put apart your differences and create something amazing with some hard work and discipline.
On a side note, in the town that I come from, band/marching band is like a right of passage, we as a high school band are one of the best in the state. One sad thing is that we're getting smaller and smaller with every passing class. We took a devastating hit when our senior class left this year, it was one of the biggest classes left. Now our new administrator is pushing us for sports instead of music, even though we suck at sports. He's gone as far as cutting the band funding for damn sports, not that I have anything against them it's just we're a band nerd school.
Woh, sorry I got a little caught up with myself there sweatdrop
but Yeah, I guess that's why I joined band.

We were forced to play in 5th grade. It was alright, but band was my third choice for electives in middle school. However, somehow i got my last choice as an elective, so i got band. But, I'm glad i did, cause i loved it right away. It was a different experience then elementary school.
So, now I play because I love it, and I love everything about it. Marching band is even better then middle school band.

Hehe I joined because my brother's were in band and I always liked how the music sounded at concerts. So I joined my 6th grade year and yeah.. uhh.. that was mostly cause i didn't want to do the math program. xD but i ended up liking it so it's all good c:

I first heard about band when they performed at my elementary school & it seemed more fun than the other electives they offered for 6th grade ^^ & I'm glad I stayed heart
