Mwali's head shot right up at his mate's panic, followed by the squeeling of at least two disrupted cubs. Growling a bit he looked around, what had dared frighten her. Not that he could really fight as well as she could- but he was massive and could look as dangerous as he should be. Finding nothing he sighed slowly in releaf, his paws moving under him to push him to a stand and round himself about. Making sure no cubs would be disturbed by him, he poked his head through the mouth of the den, looking over to Koho, "...what is it, dear? Are you well? Hungy- I be that's it... are you hungry?"

He wasn't sure what to do, by the goddess he'd not been a father before. Kui's mate had given birth but he'd been shunned away from the den, not thought up highly enough to come close to the new heirs. He wish that he'd at least watched- there'd be more to go off of than instinct.

Looking down a bit he scooped up the small female cub, stopping her trample over her siblings and gently placed her by her mother's belly.

Malik squeeled as Azize had, he'd been resting his head on his brother's rump and now his pillow was making sounds. Just great. Then a small paw met with his side, calling for yet another loud protest, a small pink mouth parting to squeel out, demanding to know the meaning of this. Thankfully, the big pressure was gone from him as his father's paw lifted her off of him. Of all the nerve! Disrupting his sleep. Growling a bit he padded at the dark cub's rump, making sure it was still there before resting his chin back on it.

Little Kianga mewed loudly in her own protest as her large daddies paw lifted her from crushing her sibling's, only to place her back where she had been and too lift her bobbing little head to blindly look around.

Nooooo she didn't want to be back here, she wanted to go see where daddy was and where mommies face was.
She was too curious, but damned if it didn't interest her fragile little newborn mind as she mewed loudly, before finally giving into the warmth of mommies fur and nuzzling deeply into it.

Gasping for air the female searched frantically for the reassuring red of her protective mate, "Mwali..." It was barely a whisper, but audible through the cubish squeaks. The registering of his voice took a few moments to sink in, but it was a relaxant that calmed the frightened lioness's nerves and allowed her to think rationally. She gulped a bit, trying to hide from her memories, those horrible night mares! The questions, she must answer her beloved, "No, no I'm not hungry, I- it's just- My brother was so angry, the cubs were in danger! Oh Mwali, it was aweful!!" Her desperate face looked to him for solace, her worries were haunting her, she had to transfer the cubs to Priderock as soon as she was able, it was the only way to quiet her worries.... But would Mufasa allow her that priviledge, after she had had cubs without permission from her king, even if she was royal blood.... A soft tear came to her eye as her frusteration at such unknowns worsened.

Mwali's jaw set a bit as he considered the problem... it was dangerous having his family on the outskirts... for one there could be any number of hostile rogue lions just waiting for a chance to sink their claws into something as helpless as her and the cubs. For another matter... they hadn't asked Mufasa's permission to be a couple... or more importantly... to make a family between them. Not only betweek two lovers, but between two prides. He slowly looked down to the cubs, goddess... if he lost any of them.

He swallowed his own fears, forcing a reassuring smile to his face, "Now now... don't worry for now, Koho... when Jasari and Sukutu come back, they can keep watch over you and I will go speak to your brother... until then rest soundly knowing I'll keep anything harmful away from you and the cubs." He smiled, nuzzling her face softly, "I promise... nothing will happen to our family."

The relief at her love's confidence rushed through the surface of her fears, eroding the terror that had come over her mind at the realization of her true troubles. There was still an aching feeling of worry, and at times regret, but it was pushed down into the depths of her heart when she looked at her cubs, she could never regret them, they were perfect. One thing that stuck in her mind was Mwali's assertion that he would speak with the king, "Wouldn't it make more sense though love for his sister to beg his forgiveness than yourself?" That thought was a double sided blade to her emotions though. Leaving her cubs would be physically impossible for any new mother, especially one such as Koho who had already lost her foster daughter and watched more than one cub being attacked. Mwali was the only one that could go, but would Mufasa greet him as warmly? "When you go, make sure to tell my brother that the cubs will be pridelanders until they are grown, and that my little dears will in no way challenge my nephews and neices..." She sounded so stupid to herself, of course she couldn't speak for the cubs when they were older, but she had to protect them now.... This was much more difficult than she had thought it would be when she had agreed to have a family with her mate...

Azize: who's worldview encompases nothing more dangerous than being stood on by siblings (or shoved around my a parental paw) Gives a comicly shrill grumble of protest as he's used for a pillow again, settling back down blindly to the way, he's quite certain, things are supposed to be.
This "Pridelander" discussion meant nothing at all to him, they were just large funny words that had nothing to do with mum. Mum...or Mum.

"No no...", he nuzzled his head under hers, laying himself down carefully. Perhaps he could comfort her back into the rest she so badly needed...she needed food too but until the others returned he couldn't leave her. "I'll speak with your brother, it's my fault anyway, and I'd rather him be cross with me than at you. If I get exiled I'm sure he won't punish you for what happened, you're his sister and he'll give you a place to raise the children in safety."

He didn't think Mufasa would banish him for what he'd done, but he always assumed the worst so he could come up with a plan ahead of time.

He chuckled at the sight of the two boys fussing with one another. Malik had his paws around his brother's body to keep him from moving out from under his head. Azize didn't seem to happy about it but far too tired to protest his way from it. "They're so perfect." He mused.

Koho nodded, her mind numbing from the lack of energy, she hadn't slept in over a day, and for a creature who usually naps at least most of the day that didn't make it easy... "You won't be exiled... I won't let you leave..." She trailed off as her head slumped down onto the soft dirt pile that had fallen. The last words she heard before sleep met her mind were those of her mate, her mind subconsciously agreeing with him as she fell into a sleep too deep for dreams, which was a good thing in the end, since it meant she was likely going to be able to sleep for as long as she could....

((short and sweet I suppose XD it'll give you time to talk with the brown lions and run off to muffy XD don't worry about waking her, she'll be well rested by that time))

Kianga continued to sleep peacefully, purring deeply as her still closed eye's clamped tighter shut.
The warmth and protection of all these bodies made her snore softly in contentment.
If this wasn't paradise, nothing was.
It was heaven to any young cub.
The sounds of her parents muffled voices, only acted as a slight disturbance...until which time as she rolled onto her back and blunk as she couldn't get back onto her stomache.
She let out a loud mewl, toothless bright pink gummy mouth wide open as her floppy little paws scrambled up in the air, trying to grip something.

Meanwhile, the large brown male quietly trotted toward's the den slowly, ear's perked up curiously before he gave a warm smile towards where he could see Mwali's big red rump.
He saw Mwali as such a cub, but at the same time, a really great friend...and...a father figure, a strong one.
His father...his real father, he never knew and assumed that he had run of once he learnt his real mother was pregnant.
Sukutu didn't know much about his real mother, or father, but he deffinatly was going to be the best older foster brother he ever would be to Koho and Mwali's new cubs...he'd make certain of that.
"Hey..." He said gently as he walked up to Mwali's side, not saying it too loud incase he woke up Koho, who he assumed she'd be sleeping, giving birth to six cubs must tire out a female.
"...How're you two holding up?"

Mwali jumped a bit at Suku's voice- having already been nervious about something like wild dogs coming after them -his head met sharply with the top of the den. Biting his tongue to contain a curse the lion looked quickly back to his mate and over the little sleeping bundles beside her, they seemed alright.. perhaps the little ones would stirr but poor Koho was exhausted...

Slowly the great red backed himself out, reaching a paw out to rub at the top of his head once he was free, "Oh... aside from... making a fool of myself in front of my cubs I can say couldn't be better." He whispered with a sheepish grin, "Have you spoken to the king yet? I'm afraid if your business is done with him it's my turn and we'll be switching posts... if that's alright with you." He sighed, looking back into the den, "There's something that I need to speak with him about."

Malik simply snorted at the sudden thump and scrambling sound of his father, padding his nice pillow lazily before nodding himself back off.

Sukutu listened intently, at the 'have you spoken to the king' and 'switch posts' however, he nodded gently and looked at him.
"Jasiri's speaking with him, to join the pride...but you can go now and I'll look after Koho.."
He didn't know what Mwali wanted to talk about...but he had a strong feeling it would be about the cub's.
The lion didn't want to see the cub's be banished or worse of, killed, but he was sure Mufasa wouldn't allow that to happen.
They where just cub's after all.
Suku gently placed a paw of Mwali's huge red shoulder and smiled warmly.
"Good luck.."

Mwali smiled over to the othe male, reaching a paw up to pat the one on his shoulder, "Watch over them. If something goes wrong I want you to help them... no matter what." He was nervous, and it was written all over his features. He wasn't used to the ways of the prideland but he remembered all too well the ways of his own former pride. What he'd done now... under a king the cubs would all be slain in front of the parents, the female would be slain, and the father would be subjected into servitude after being beaten within an inch of his life... if the king was feeling merciful that day. He'd not let that happen... his family came first now, no matter what.

Mwali got himself up to his feet and shook out his mane, ridding himself of the dew that had built up on it during the night, "I'll return as quickly as I can."

With that Mwali began off at a walk. Not slow but not fast enough to raise suspicions.

Azize squeaks in protest as his sibling fluffs his posterior like a fluffy pillow, batting with the clumbsy intensity of the blind and barely born at...well probably air all factors considered, and then, retaliation thus satisfactorily completed, settles back down to sleep.

Sukutu nodded softly the bright red male, watching his friend run of toward's the lands of where he had lived for so long.
Mwali was very brave.
Even if he didn't think so of himself, but he had other's to think that of him.
The large chocolate male then slowly padded to the opening of the den and looked inside, smiling softly at his resting mother and little foster siblings.

Suku' then gave a large yawn before laying down near the opening, to make sure nothing entered and none of the cub's escaped.
They where far to young for adventuring anyway.
