Rivener chuckled at how brightly Xiu seemed to perk up when he was invited over. The Frei hadn't been far from his home, then? Ah well, he'd have lots to see at the Delaran home, for certain. Xiu's precocious defending of Aphismet's credentials as a guardian was almost funny, but any urge to laugh out loud was stemmed by the wonderful compliment Xiu added to the end of his statement; he thought Rivener was an impressive Sigel. Riv tried to hide the burst of pride at that, puffing up slightly and smiling self-assuredly.
When the pale Frei got his hands on a pen and paper, Rivener gave directions to get to his home. It involved switching buses once and then somehow making your way down a few long streets that public transit didn't service... And the street where the Delaran house was located was rather deserted, flanked on both sides by the marsh-like fields and trees. It could make for a scary walk all by oneself. "You'd be better off taking a cab," Riv noted, finally giving the house number and street name.
Xiu's offer to escort Rivener to the door was a very polite way to end their visit, and the Sigel chuckled to himself as he made sure to pick up his gift, tucking the large book under his arm again. "Yeah, he's a bit of a Mother Hen sometimes, but with good reason. I wouldn't want him to worry."
They passed through the bookstore and the Scorpion gave Hazeline a goodbye wave, accented with a smile. He then paused at the door and tilted his head in response to Xiu's slight bow, grinning. "It was a pleasure to be here, Xiu. Feel free to come over when you like." With a final wave to both Raevan and guardian, Rivener turned and headed home.
