Yaruka was glad that the packages weren't all to heavy, but the crunchiness of them made her raise an eyebrow in curiosity. Still, she gladly moved them over to a bare spot on the table.
"Yes, we have met before." She affirmated as she smiled to the young man, noting his appearance and recognizing him. "I am Tsubei's guardian, Yaruka. It's a pleasure to formally meet you, Master Ryoua." She bowed to him a bit to show respect for her new acquaintance.
"Yes, I'm quite well. And how about yourself and the rest of your family? Have you been fairing well in this new world?"
Yaruka couldn't disguise a giggle to the fact that Setsushi seemed overwhelmed by the meals he had cooked and the new packages the younger man brought.

This one has found a new hobby! projects the young man rather gleefully. surprised Behold...
And, having been relieved of all but one of his paper bags, he unwraps it to reveal a round-ish loaf of crusty bread. This one happens to be a little bit misshapen, but Setsushi and Yaruka will find that the other loaves they hold come in a variety of shapes and degrees of finesse. Ryoua pokes a little at the dent in its side, but the smile does not slip off his face.
No matter! It will probably still taste good, and most of them are... relatively freshly-baked. And Setsushi need not worry -- the materials were nothing expensive, after all.
He turns back to Yaruka and inclines his head. Ah, and yes, Ryoua remembers Miss Tsubei. She is well, too, he hopes? As for Ryoua, he has had to adjust, as have they all, but his mother and sister are resilient. It makes him feel that he can be, as well.

Setsushi's eyes open wide with surprise, and the flurry of pleased and grateful feelings that follow are far too disorganized to be a mere gesture of propriety. Ryoua is really too kind! Setsushi will and his guests will be able to enjoy this greatly.
Tsubei is outside, he tells Ryoua; why doesn't he go join her and his mother? He imagines their conversation will be a lot more interesting than watching Setsushi run around the kitchen like a confused goose.
As if to demonstrate, he returns to the table, fretting over the array of plates and bowls. He finally decides to return to preparing the second plate of snapper. Where on earth did he put that dish of sauce... gonk

Yaruka smiled when she saw what was wrapped up in the packages. She observed the various shapes of bread, giggling a bit at the idea that he liked to bake.
"Bread art can be a fulfilling and delicious hobby," She remarked as she placed down the bread carefully and looked over to Setsushi, motioning towards something that looked like sauce. "I have no doubt these will taste marvelous.
"Tsubei has been fairly well, between her sewing projects and her garden. She's been a bit of a recluse, but I hope that with Spring moving in it will bring her outside more often." She explained on her 'daughter's' status. "I'm sure it's difficult, but it will get better over time. If you have questions, you can always ask me or Tsubei or anyone else that's more familiar with Gaia."
She glanced out the door to watch Tsubei interacting with the others, seeing Ren'i was playing his violin and the smile on her face was one of pride.

No no, Ryoua insists. How can Setsushi handle cooking for so many people all by himself? Talented though he is, he is only mortal. Ryoua would be pleased to help. Although Setsushi will have to be quite specific when telling him exactly how to help, as this one is not nearly as familiar with proper cooking techniques...
Ryoua will just step outside for a moment to greet his mother, and then he'll be right back. He gives each of them a polite nod, and smiles at Setsushi with the same familiar warmth the older Porcelain showed him.

They are not really so many people, and it is not such an impossible task... Setsushi has just mismanaged his time, he's afraid.
But, having laid down a light brushing of sauce and sprinklings of bright green herbs, he believes this second plate of snapper is ready. Setsushi will briefly accompany Ryoua outside to deliver it to the table.
Somewhat secretly, he fears whom he might meet out there... sweatdrop

Yaruka smiled to both of them, then picked up the first plate of snapper once more so she could follow them outside. She wondered if certain people had joined them yet.
"Well, I think it's best we not keep anyone waiting much longer for this part of the meal." She spoke as she headed towards the door, "Maybe once we get this out, we can figure out the soup situation."

Safely inside the house again, Setsushi moves first to inspect the pot of rice. Pondering Kouyo's question, he suggests bringing in the bowls of those who have turned up so far and putting rice into those -- carrying the whole pot outside would be inconvenient. sweatdrop He apologizes to Kouyo, though; he should have kept the bowls inside rather than setting them on the table -- that would save them some running back and forth.
He then moves to the table, contemplates a moment, and then begins heaping an assortment of seasoned, spiced vegetables -- a salad of sorts, with mung beans, cucumbers, and various other produce of green, red, and yellow -- into a bowl. He frowns a little, as he seems to have forgotten cabbage for this dish. He should have asked to bring home Master Akram's...

Or perhaps, if Setsushi has nothing else to carry out for the moment, he could hold the pot and Kouyo could take care of the serving outside?

... Well, Setsushi was hoping to finish preparing these dishes, but...
Setsushi supposes Kouyo wasn't there for that part of the conversation with Akram. The human said that he was in possession of a large cabbage and was not sure what to do with it; Setsushi could have used a nice big cabbage for tonight's meal...
... ... ... In any case, he thinks he hears the arrival of Dame Chourou's family outside, so perhaps they will go with Kouyo's suggestion after all. Hefting the pot of rice -- it is not that heavy, but a little inconvenient to carry -- Setsushi indicates the scooper, and heads back outside.
