Raising herself, due to her parents vanishing when she was in her basket, Marika has always found peace and comfort from the ocean. This is mainly due to the fact that when she escaped the confines of her basket she found herself staring out at the glittering waters, and found comfort from the sereneness of it all as she curled up alone, hoping for some sign of her parents, whom would never arrive for her.
Having no parents to speak up, she began to call the ocean her "mother" and studied "her" ways. She learned to appreciate the beauty, pin point the warning signs of coming storms, learn of high tides, low tides, the creatures that called the ocean their home, when her "mother" was at peace, and when she was beginning to rage, ect ect.
Like her "mother", Marika also holds two distinct sides of her self. The side that usually shows, her true self, is peaceful, and loving, a creature that would never harm anyone unless necessary. She is joyous, empathetic, and playful, always wanting to help and bring comfort to those around her. At times, she can be a bit childish and stubborn in her ways, but she always means best.
Her other side, however, is like the raging ocean. She may seem calm at first, maybe a tad sarcastic, or a bit of a seductress, but one wrong move and she will become violent, loud, and harsh. Her actions are always lashed, and with the intent of greatest harm. She is, of course, not completely evil, but she isn't exactly the nicest Soq out there either. ::Love Life::Sexuality: Straight

Emotions are toxic. They are poisons that when caged away they boil up and dissolve the one harboring the emotions. Nevin has slowly been emotionally dying for as long as he can remember, and he blames it on himself and his family.
Yes, he loves his mother dearly. He loves his blood father. He loves his siblings. But he cannot help but look at the rest of the herd with disdain. Drama storms around them like flies and ravens to a carcass. Everyday there is something to complain about. There is someone causing trouble. There is an explosion. And Nevin cannot take it. He cannot help but feel caged as he fails at making attempts to make peace.
He wishes he could be as calm and at peace like his parents, but he can't reach that goal. So the stallion embraces the fact that he is more like a caged beast than a monk at peace with himself.

Tynan is what you would call off, but in his own special sort of way. The type of special that comes from living a life without the guide of a parents, friend or any other figure whom he could have been raised by or beside. And why? Because his mother was no ready to be tied down by children, so with his father having been long gone she abandoned his basket in the desert and never looked back.
With the silence of a lonely life under the desert sun it was no surprise Tynan would end up being a bit, more like a lot, off, and why not, he is, after all, a deviant. A being whom society would never completely understand and accept. He is someone with no understanding when it comes to basic societal morals and rules. He is someone whom doesn't completely understand emotions outside of ones he himself has experience. He is someone whom just doesn't understand the world around him, and probably never will.
This is not to say he isn't intelligent. Oh no, he is, in his own way. It is just the fact that most of the time he likes to play dumb so others may leave him alone, or so he can bring others closer before turning them in to his little toy, or giving them a nice smack across the face.

Devanira has always been conflicted and angry about her blood. Her father is a cursed mutant skinwalker. Her mother is a cerynei. Her siblings were born with mutant blood. And yet she was the one who got the short end of the stick. No power. Not mutant blood. Just a prey item who yearns to be a predator.
With no physically power Devanira learned to use her words and wit to get where she needs. Yet, even that did not last long. The kalona and harpies that she had convinced to join her band eventually turned against her. Those she thought she was using were using her, and once they felt she had played her part they chased her away.
These days Devanira, now humiliated and thrown in the mud, spends her time wrapped in her anger. She wants revenge. She wants to tear apart those tho stripped her of her power. HER POWER. But then a small part of her wants to give everything up. A rabbit cannot hope to become a leopard. They can only hope to accept them self and be the best rabbit they can be. Maybe it is time to move on.

Wendigo spent his days growing up with a flock that lived under the canopies of a humid jungle. Many two-legger ruins were scattered across the lands, and many foals enjoyed exploring and running around them. Those were things he never got to experience. Instead, Wendigo and his siblings were made to study and practice the art of being a perfect predator.
The stallion embraced his mother's teaching. Killing had become a need beyond survival. It was an art to him. Finding the perfect victim. Stalking, watching, learning about them. The sound of the victim's screams and last breathe. The look in their eyes like the setting sun. Their blood like paint. Pelt like warm summer afternoons. Bones like decoration. Yes, it was a beautiful and patient art.
Eventually the stallion learned to move beyond his blood lust, and left the sanctuary he once called home. His mother was dead to him as far as he was concerned. So consumed in her plans for "perfection". His brother had left a few seasons before, so he felt it best to leave as well.
The need to kill would not remain silent for long though. It learned to call to him like a whisper in a wind, to remind him of the actions he longed for...
And he answered.
