As if also embarrassed that he put Ryoua on the spot, Setsushi admits that Rika actually is not that enthusiastic about the mathematical arts herself. He believes that her true passion is for beetles.
Which is something Setsushi will probably never understand.
Setsushi glances sideways at Tenkyuu as he quickly informs her, privately, that he didn't mean to imply she was that unpleasant. He just isn't sure that this particular woman is a match for Ryoua. ...Of course, Tenkyuu can always go see for herself.
He rises to get paper and pencil for writing the address.

Tenkyuu just likes to think of "worst case scenarios" for her children. It is good to expect the worst if one hopes for the best, yes? Tenkyuu turns her head, watching Setsushi move from the table as she looks fondly on her second child.
No, Tenkyuu never had the head for Ryoua's pursuits. While Tenkyuu prefers to run around the world fighting bandits, her son picked a method of study that can help discover unknown things about the world. Frankly, Tenkyuu believes Ryoua to have superior abilities to her own.

Yousei of Wood Hm? Oh, yes, equations. Yes, he supposes so. Ryoua emanates feeble, sheepish projections. He's afraid that he's never been quite as enamored with his work as his dear mother and noble Setsushi. He glances at his mother, as if expecting a rebuke.
She need not worry about him. He is certain that if he manages to procure the position at the shop, they will provide all the necessary tools.
He raises one eyebrow at Setsushi's strange outburst, but does not think much of it.
