Climbing out of the water, Caleb shook himself off before getting closer, crouching playfully. "Because you looked a little warm." He said lightly, refering to the odd moment just before the splash. "Thought you'd like to cool off."
His tone was light, but his bright eyes held an inner understanding of what was happening to them, even if his mind didn't quite understand it yet.

"I like being warm" she said at least better then water she thought. "I don't think were getting any dinner tonight with the noise we are making all this noise" she joked laughing. Genesis had been feeling different about Caleb, sh liked him in a different way then sh did when she was a kit but she couldn't place it yet.

Caleb smirked. "You're right. Maybe we should quiet down then?" He lay where he was, stretching out in front of Genesis and reaching to bat at her nose.
"What kind of dinner are you in the mood for?"

"I think we should potluck it" she said dodging the bat, "I could catch ground animals and you fish?" she said getting up and shaking her fur. "How about it?" she asked sitting down and licking her paw.

Caleb wagged his tail. "Sounds good." He looked around a moment, hopping up and pulling over a large leaf that had fallen from a tree. "Here. We can put our catch on here, then split it." Turning toward the river, he crouched down, tail twitching in the air. "Here fishy, fishy, fishy..."

Genesis laughed, going deeper in the forest she moved with the stealth of a born hunter through the under growth and smelled a squirrel. Stalking it she found it gnawing on an acorn totally oblivious, she pounced ending it's life in a swift bite. Bringing it back to the pile she also caught a bird and 2 small rabbits.

Caleb took a bit longer than usual to catch the fish. For some reason, he felt he should get the biggest and nicest ones for this meal. Normally, he'd grab what he could get...
He returned to the pile with two good sized trout and some crawdads he had found loitering in a weed clogged puddle nearby.
"Wow." He said, comparing their bounty. Laughing, he started cleaning his paws a bit before eating. "We're eating like royals tonight!"

Genesis took the squirrel from the pile and took a dainty bite. "Yes we had a really good catch tonight" she agreed enjoying the juicy squirrel. Yawning she recalled the day and smiled thinking of the day she had with her friend. She smiled as she thought of everything except the awkward lick.

Nodding, Caleb grabbed up one of the rabbits to eat first. "Thank you. For helping put this together." A clear sky, birds singing, buds in the trees. This would be a good day for a dat- The thought made him nearly choke, face turning red in embarassment at the thought. They'd grown up together! He couldn't think of her that way! ....Could he?

Genesis saw him turn red and cocked her head to one side "Whats wrong?" she asked hoping he wasn't thinking about the lick. She felt so bad she embarrassed him so and couldn't help putting her head on her paws in dismay. Why couldn't I just keep control of myself she thought.

"Food went down the wrong tube." Caleb managed to choke out with a bashful grin. Clearing his throat finally, his blue eyes looked down at his rabbit and pushed it away. "Off with you!" He scolded with a chuckle, trying to cover for himself. Then he grabbed a trout and started munching on it for an excuse to be silent again.
((Makes for quite an amusing combo ^_^ ))

"Oh" she said doubtfully. She knew it must be that and he was trying to hide it to make her feel better, it only made her feel worse. "I am sorry" she whispered ashamed of herself even more blushing deeply her face hot. Her silver eyes lacked their normal gleam and she struggled to relax.

Sorry? Looking up from the trout, the bright blue eyes darkened with worry. "Gen? What's wrong?" Caleb sat up, ears twitching. "What are you sorry for?"

"I am sorry for causing so much awkwardness" she said trying to controll sobs. She was doing a good job of it and kept her face calm breathing heavier trying to calm down. Sje thought she had but the tears swelled in her eyes and she dug her face in her paw's blushing even deeper.

"Oh. That." Neck shrinking between his shoulders, Caleb's own face became hot. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you feel awkward..." His eyes went down to his paws.
"Please don't cry." He said miserably. "I'd rather have it awkward again than see you upset because of me."
