Kanani giggled as the wave reached her, but instead of turning away, she dove into it, soaking her body even further. She had loved the water ever since she was a foal, and that love had never really gone away.
She noticed the lack of "my lady" in Crisanto's words, and for a moment, wondered if it had been a slip of the tongue. But another realization came to her, and despite her want to ignore it, she couldn't. She wasn't some innocent little filly anymore. She was grown, and capable of feeling the things that grown Cerynei--and Soquili--felt. And she shouldn't have to hide it.
She swam closer, sending a spray at the stallion with a flick of a foreleg. The sun was near to setting now, and the pastel light reflected in the droplets of water, emphasizing the beautiful orange of Crisanto's eyes. It reminded her of the sun, of warmth. And she didn't want it to leave.
"Crisanto... would you like to watch the sunset with me?" she murmured, unable to take her gaze from him.

He looked into her eyes, and a flutter went through his stomach. "Of course, I would love to." He was absolutely elated that she would spend more time with him. He would take every second he could get.
He made his way towards shore, splashing behind him a bit as he went, laughing. Once he reached the meadow, he shook off as best he could, and found a soft spot in the grass to settle down.

Kanani followed close behind, gingerly shaking herself to rid the excess water. She loved the sound of his voice; it was so strong, and protective. It was the kind of voice that could comfort someone with even the simplest of words. Just being near it was like being in a relaxing reverie.
She was hesitant for a moment, thinking of what would come from these feelings. But, as her mother always told her, she would "Chase her dreams." So, with a heart that beat twice as fast, and cheeks that were visibly coloring, she walked over to the stallion and lay in front of him, so close that she could feel the warmth from his body. She could only hope that she was not doing anything too sudden, or wrong.
"Crisanto..." she whispered, staring shyly at the ground before her. But she couldn't find the words to say, and quickly looked up towards the darkening sky. "It's beautiful, isn't it?"

As she spoke her soft words, Crisanto only had eyes for his lady. She was beautiful. He new he never wanted to part with her. He shifted his body a bit closer, growing bold in the glowing light of the sunset. He nuzzled her neck very softly for a moment and whispered, "Yes, beautiful." He couldn't look away.

Kanani took in a deep breath, then let it out slowly, a shiver traveling down her spine at the stallion's tender touch. "Crisanto... I know we've just met, and that we still don't know much about eachother. But I think I feel something, something that I've heard of before, just never experienced." She turned her head to look at him, realizing that they were closer than she had known... but she held her courage, and continued. "My mother told me about this feeling, a long time ago. She said that it's something natural, something that will come at the right time, and let you know that you've found the right being. And... I think... that I'm feeling it for you. I think... I love you." She reached up and placed her cheek against his, nuzzling the spot where his jaw met his neck in a display of emotion that took all of her bravery.

Crisanto's eyes glistened with emotion. He new the feelings he had been getting - the flutters, the adrenaline, the flushes... he had been too much of a coward to say it aloud though. Or maybe he had been waiting for the right time? He would never know. "My Kana... I give you my heart, to do with as you like. I could belong to no other."

Kanani smiled, his soft words warming her heart to the point of melting. She nuzzled the stallion's neck, her eyes no longer focused on the sunset, but on the bright fur that was her love. She felt relief at her admittance, and a new sense of excitement at what was to come. But she was content, for the moment, to simply lay and enjoy the warmth of their embrace.
"And I give you my heart, Crisanto. Forever."
