Like the insect that he was Rivener seemed to be trying to wiggle under a rock to avoid trouble. However, Ethan wouldn't have any of it. He'd promised the night sigel's father that he would make sure nothing went wrong and now that something had gone wrong, very wrong, it was his duty to tell the cook about it. "Rivener," he started, his tone grave. "You stung someone and could very well be charged for assault." Ethan twisted the key starting the engine, glancing over his shoulder as he did so to show the teen that he wasn't kidding around. "Of course, after my little speech I'm fairly confident that they won't be keen to press serious charges. They're equally at risk of assault, and since your attack was provoked I'd say we're standing on higher ground at the moment. None the less, I think Aphismet should be made aware of it. It's no laughing matter." He frowned at the boy's smile before placing his hands firmly on the wheel and commencing the drive home. He'd take an alternative route out of town, to avoid passing the concert venue; just encase it was exit time and the car got swamped, who knew what the crazed youths would do?
Doing up her seatbelt Vyn sighed, really she should be the one apologizing to Rivener. After defending her he'd now be getting into trouble with Aphismet.. She hoped that Ethan would allow her to explain to the kind parent of Rivener what bravery he had shown. "Sorry that you're going to get told off." She murmured under her breath, fixing her apologetic gaze on her brother-figure.

Rivener sighed and down-turned his head slightly as Ethan told him sternly that there would be no way out of this. Riv had expected as much of course, but still. Huffing softly, he turned to glare out the window. Aphismet would be so mad...
Vyn's quiet voice summoned the Scorpion's eyes back over to her, and he sighed tolerantly, smirking softly. "Yeah, well. It's okay I guess. It was for a good reason this time, at least."
Rivener stayed quiet for the rest of the trip home, leaning an elbow on the window's side and propping his chin in his fist, watching the buildings go by. The traffic lights became rarer, the buildings sparser, and soon the car was driving down the rural roads out of Durem. They'd be at the Delaran homestead soon. Sighing again, Riv let his eyes slip closed, leaning back against the seat and trying to convince himself that his guardian wouldn't be THAT mad... He'd protected Vyn. Aphismet should be proud.

The journey back from the concert dragged on longer than the journey there.. There was nothing to look forward to now, just the prospect of Rivener getting scolded unjustly, plus going to bed with the throbbing pain that was steadily growing inside her head. Vyn sighed heavily, drawing her arms around herself.. Now that the initial adrenalin rush of excitement was over the hard truths were hitting home, and they were striking with quite some force. She shuddered as the memory of the concert flashed in her mind's eye. The heavy masses of people, Rivener shouting, the vines coiling round her; choking out the damage, but trapping her at the same time. Vyn glanced at Rivener, then at the back of Ethan's seat. Really she was quite lucky to have the pair of them defending her. Rivener being her physical shield, Ethan her verbal shield. At least now they were all safe.. The movement of the car was rather relaxing, numbing her exhausted body. Her striking eyes dimmed, mirroring the dimming of her rune, and she exhaled gently; the breath fogging the window slightly as she rested her head and fell into a well deserved sleep.
The car sighed to a stop outside the Delaran house not long after the frei slipped into her slumber. Ethan quietly exited the vehicle and moved around to open the door for Rivener - "Come on, let's explain to your father what happened." He glanced at the sleeping girl and half smiled fondly. "No need to wake her, she needs her rest as do you. I won't take long." He murmured, leaving the boy no other choice but to go placidly alongside him; any arguing might wake Vyn, and the businessman was certain Rivener didn't want that - not after everything she'd been though.

The car slowing to a stop was the end of this strange, half-wonderful and half-atrocious evening. Rivener waited for Ethan to open his door through some instinct that told him this is what should happen. As the businessman mentioned Vyn sleeping, Riv's red eyes looked over to his sleeping "little sister". Smiling slightly, he pressed a kiss to his own fingers and placed it softly to her gloved hand, patting consolingly. "Good night Vyn," he whispered before following Ethan out. The house loomed above him as though glaring down disapprovingly, but Rivener only sighed and floated up straight and proud. He would NOT regret what he did.
Silently, he followed Ethan up the steps towards the inevitable anger of his Guardian, but it would all be worth it for the peacefully sleeping rose he was leaving behind.
